Chapter 774 : Leo, Warrior Chief of the Tontatta tribe
We follow Jinbei on his solo voyage, after encountering Wadatsumi who was revealed to be responsible of the disappearance of the sea cat’s home. Jinbei gives him a good scolding, hopefully we will see a new development in his story.
Yeah I feel you Kyros that guy is so annoying...
This chapter felt rather short, as it featured only 14 pages or so. To me it looked more like a transition chapter, which still managed to solve one of the plot lines, that is the Mensherry and by extension the Tontatta one. But before doing any of that, we get to see Robin at the flower field offering her help to Kyros in order to defeat Diamante. It seems that she has no intention of fighting Diamante herself, rather she wants to protect Rebecca from Diamante’s attacks, which could allow Kyros to fight him without having to worry about Rebecca’s safety. This in my opinion is the most logical solution to this situation, since I really can’t see anyone else defeat Diamante other than Kyros. Robin can still have her moment if she has any intention of going a top the palace and maybe fight Trebol.
Viola informs the dwarves about Jora's plan
Thanks to Viola’s insight we learn that Jora, who wasn’t seen for quite some time, plans to use Mansherry’s power to heal all the fallen officers. Indeed it seems that the dwarf princess is a DF user, and that her DF, the Heal Heal no mi, allows one to heal instantly. This could prove to be dangerous for the SHs and their allies, seeing how many of them are exhausted from their battle and couldn’t go on a second round against officers such as Lao G, Machvise, Dellinger, but more importantly Sugar and her Hobi Hobi no mi. Viola alerts Leo who rushes at the princess ‘side. It is obvious now why DD kept the princess prisoner, not only did it allow him to force the dwarves into slavery, but he could also use her healing abilities. DD’s knowledge about the DFs is pretty extensive, as seen in before with the Ope Ope no mi.
The cute princess dwarf against the monstrous like lady
Jora had been forcing Mansherry to heal the soldiers, and was planning to use her powers next on the officers. Mansherry refuses, although she seems powerless against a foul-mouthed Jora. Once again it seems that this situation is the result of the dwarves gullible nature, the princess herself only realizes now that Doflamingo and his men are bad. If it hadn't been for the princess being taken away, the dwarves wouldn't have to work in the factory to begin with. Either way Mansherry’s cuteness seemed to have swayed Jora’s heart but only for an instant. She regains her senses though, only to start bullying the poor dwarf who sheds healing tears. Seeing that, Jora thoroughly beats the dwarf in order to make her cry.
Leo the Tontatta warrior saves the princess.
As the tears are about to touch the officers, Leo and the rest of the dwarves break in, just in time to stop Jora’s evil plan. First Kabu sends the officers flying, above Jora’s head. Leo proceeds to stitch Jora and her beloved family members together in a nice patchwork. Leo catches the falling princess, effectively saving the day.
Leo as the warrior of the Tontatta saved the princess dwarf, who seems to be quite smitten by him. Although it may be only one sided, as Leo makes a remark about Mansherry’s weight. And with this the dwarf plot line comes to closure, not only that but all the fallen officers have no way to make a comeback.
I enjoyed this chapter, despite it being short. It may have felt rushed for some, as we are informed about Jora’s plan that can be very detrimental to the SHs ,and yet the situation was resolved quickly, but I think it wouldn't have been necessary to stretch it any further. We already knew how strong the dwarves are. If we think about it this whole situation could have been avoided if the dwarves weren’t so gullible. It only makes sense that the situation with Mansherry gets resolved in one chapter, since it’s not as important to the plot(kinda). Oda himself seemed to have forgotten about it for some time, so he may have thought about making a chapter that deals with that problem. And seeing how he’s done the same for the Colosseum fighters, I wouldn't be surprised if it turned out just that way.
With this all that remains to be seen on Dressrosa is the conclusion of the fight between Franky and Señor Pink, before moving to the executives fights, mainly Zoro vs Pica and Kyros vs Diamante, and of course the much anticipated Luffy vs DD, but we will have to be patient since Luffy still has to deal with Bellamy before we can see him take on DD himself.
If I had to give a note to this chapter based on my level of enjoyment, I would give it a 7/10, if only for the fact that we’re finally done with the dwarves plot line.
