So I've come upon some external DL links that are now dead. Is there some mechanism for users to remove some of these?

You can report the release to us using the Report Release feature. In the individual dl page of the manga chapter/volume on the right hand side, the second box from the top, is currently where the report function is. In the comments you can note that it's a dead external link.
Currently we're making some changes and the report button will be more visible on the main section of the release, but until then please bear with us and use the report function to the right. Thanks!
