I really hope people actually watch the nominated openings before voting, because Beastars actually is the only one this far which does something fresh and interesting on the animation/content side of things. And the song is catchy too. All the other openings this far are just so... usual. Normal. "Oh't that's an anime OP all right". Mob Psycho at least does something interesting, but I don't like it as much as the first OP. Yaiba has the animation quality going for it, but other than it's an very basic shonen OP. Carole and Tuesday atleast looks a little different.

Sure, I'm biased as hell as I love Beastars and stop-motion, but hands down, as on whole it's clearly the OP of the year really. No contest.

The dance animation is so on point. It's well done and works as an excellent example of characterisation thorough action or movement. It's also adorable to see different character and body types dancing in unexpected ways - breaking characterisation sterwotypes

Going to throw in Symphogear XV's OP


After 4 seasons of more typical pop-styled pieces, this was quite the change from the usual; took a bit of getting used to, but ended up quite liking it. On the side of the visuals, fairly standard fare in terms of animation, but thankfully does not spoil what is to come (unfortunately all too common these days), yet provides tidbits of hints and foreshadowing.
