Wouldn't Gildarts power make it kinda impossible for him to be good in a tag team? I mean how good can he a team of Gildarts + anyone be if Gildarts could kill his own partner cause of lack of control over his power. Even when all of FT teamed up against Acnologia Gildarts was the only one who didn't take part in the attacks.

Erza and Natsu would IMO get trashed by Juvia and Gajeel. Erza is an all you can eat buffet for Gajeel and Natsu can't burn water even if he does Juvia can tank it. So Erza+Natsu isn't as unstoppable as some may think.

i think gildart is not good with team play. his power is so strong and he doesnt want someone near him when he is fighting seriously because he might hurt whoever near him.

Nothing has stated that 2nd Gen dragonslayers can't use dragon force.
When you say Laxus lost to lightningless and dragonforceless Natsu and Gajeel, you fail to mention him using up MP putting up the thunderpalace, fighting mystogan, erza and casting fairy law and it was still a draw. Laxus is by no means weak and it is clearly shown by taking him out of an arc so that Natsu can shine.

I would say LAXUS and ERZA , because:
1. Gildarts always travels around the world
2. Mira is not on Erza's level
3. Makarov excluded
4. Mystogan isn't in Earthland
5. Because Erza is Erza, lol
6. Laxus is extremely strong

Under classic situation ?
Laxus and Erza : all have experience, strength, endurance, défense.
One of them can be replace by Gildarts of course.
