As some of you might know, I don't read HxH Edited Mangas because their quality is terrible. I only read the official English volumes released by Viz.

However, there's a problem... there are rare volumes that I can't find anywhere. And if they exists, they usually tend to be used or in a ridiculously high price. Not oven Viz's store have them in their retailer prices.

I own volumes 1-7. At one point I couldn't find volume 5 and I had to order it online. But, these volumes are still unobtainable:

  • - 08
  • - 09
  • - 14
  • - 18

Of all the hard ones to find, it just had to be Yorknew arc!

I tried http://store.viz.com/ , http://www.justmanga.com , http://www.amazon.com/ and http://www.ebay.com/. Any idea of other places to look at?

I own all of these copies, bought them at local book seller for a couple bucks a pop each. It's practically impossible to find them at reasonable price these days, so until Viz puts them back in print, look forward to buying them for $200+ haha. Sorry to burst your bubble.

^You own 'em, good for you, no need to boast about it, geez. *insert eyeroll here*

But, these volumes are still unobtainable:
Anyway, they are out of print and, thus, as you said, pretty much unobtainable unless you can afford (and are willing) to fork over a pretty sum... Well, I'd say wait till Viz puts 'em up in their digital manga section - it should happen sooner or later.

I kinda wonder, though, why only first 2 volumes of Yorkshin out of 6 are like that, especially considering they're, like, the least interesting part of Yorkshin.

Wasn't boasting, just stating that if your gonna find them it probably won't be online. Try local book stores, might still have them in stock. Otherwise the harsh reality of the situation is that they are ridiculously priced online and pretty much unobtainable for a reasonable price until Viz reissue those volumes, which is certainly just up in the air.

I ran into somewhat of the same problem when I was trying to get all of the English volumes. I got lucky on a couple because someone had put them up on ebay for a LOT cheaper than amazon/half. I know I have a couple of duplicates because I wasn't smart enough (at the time) to make a list of which I already had.

The duplicates I have are in storage, I think. So the next time I go there I will check to see which ones I have extras of.

Perhaps you could send an e-mail to Viz requesting them to print more copies? Although I doubt they'll actually do something it never hurts to try.

Since you are not deep into the collection (for Berserk I was 15+ volumes in when I saw a deal like this), try this:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/HUNTERXHUNT...omics_Manga&hash=item27c6430a85#ht_2827wt_952

I'll leave the price checking to you, but it might be cheaper to do this. Plus you can always make an offer for it. I think $6 a volume is pretty damn good...

I just remembered how I acquired most of my collection, an anime store near where I used to live was having a Buy One Get One free sale and happened to have most of HxH (I think I ended up getting 20+ volumes from that).

This was a real pain when I started collecting Hunter x Hunter. I had to pay a hefty price for volumes 8,9, and 14. I noticed a few times on amazon.com that the out print volumes can sometimes go down to around $20.00 so try check amazon.com as often as you can, or try ebay.

Damn it! He doesn't ship to the UAE!

I think I'll need a middle man from the US for this! Can someone help me with this? I'll pay back, don't worry!

Yes! I was able to find someone to help me with this and got the volumes for me. I had to pay for extra services, but at least I'll get my hand on 17 volumes including the rare Yorknew volumes.

And that means I'll end up with extra 1-7 volumes. I hope they'll sell.

hey guys check out my collection! im a newish fan to the series but i LOVE it, i have English volumes 1 - 25, only volume 1 has a scratch on it but other than that all my volumes are in great condition

Cool. Are you thinking of selling them or just showing off your collection? Because with how you're describing the condition it would almost sound
like you're selling them. But since you like the series I'm not sure why you would sell them unless you really needed the money.

That's cool. Did you buy yours all new? A lot of mine are used books but they have actually been in EXCELLENT condition.
Most don't even look used.

Though I should be getting 9-17 sometime before May 15th! It's gonna be great!

Yea I bought them at my local bookstore all new, they r awesome! Reading the actual book of the manga is so much better than reading it on the Internet. I had seen volume 26 there before but I wasn't able to pick it up unfortunately

Dang it!

I think I might have accidentally ordered the GERMAN versions of HxH 9 and 14!!

As I said before I ordered them from Albris through a UK bookseller.
So quite naturally I thought wouldn't a book from the UK be in English?
And I didn't see anywhere on the page that would hint towards it being NOT English.

This isn't the one I bought but it has the same type of cover

http://www.alibris.com/booksearch.detail?invid=11248488232&quserid=PABKSHOP&qtit=hunter+x+hunter&qsort=&page=1

Does anyone see anywhere on that page that says anything about it not being in English?

I DON'T!

But it looks like the publishing company

Carlsen Verlag GmbH

might be German?

I thought this was just the UK version! Not the German version! FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!

Dang it. :gwah

Speaking of which...

The UK version is the same as the US version in that they're both by Viz. I think you might've ordered the German version...

I did. :(

Oh well.

At least it will still have good picture quality.

It's already shipped so would have to mail it back to return and well that's a bit much trouble.

Maybe I should just learn German :P

I got my package today. Great thanks to majinjeb for sharing the eBay link here.

Now I got extra 7 volumes, but I already found someone interested to buy them from me.
