Welcome to the Shin Prince of Tennis Beach Volleyball Tournament

The Forum Rules apply as usual. Furthermore, the following extra rules apply.

Shin Prince of Tennis Beach Volleyball Tournament Rules
1. Threads and Polls
The staff will take care of any organizational duties. In other words, do not create any new threads/polls and leave any updates to us. Once a round ends, the thread will be closed. If you want to further comment on a match that's already over, please use this thread.

2. About the votes
You cast a vote by selecting your character of choice in the poll. Votes will be hidden. If you change your mind during the discussion, you can click the Unvote button and your previous vote will be removed, allowing you to select a different option.

3. Characters
Characters are to be considered with the abilities they displayed in the manga. Additional information from official sources like the data books or Pair Puris may be taken into account.

4. Matches
All matches are best of 12 points. The serve order will be determined randomly when the match starts. Unlike in tennis, the server changes only when the receiving team scores a point. Furhtermore, unlike in tennis, net balls on serve count.
Characters start each match without injuries.

4.1 Arguing for a winner
You are allowed and encouraged to come up with all kinds of scenarios to determine who you want to vote for - you can of course just argue based on stats and abilities as well if you prefer that.

4.2 Determining the winner
The characters with the majority of votes at the end of the round moves on to the next round, their opponents are eliminated from the tournament. If there is a vote tie, that round will be extended until the tie is broken or 12 hours have passed. If there is still a tie after the extension, the winner will be determined randomly.

4.3 Punishment
The losing team is forced to drink Inui's special Sardine Water Deluxe. You may use this information in your arguments. This section may be amended depending on how the tournament progresses.

In order to make this a more enjoyable experience for everyone, please follow these rules and discuss and justify your votes.
If you have any further questions, please post in this thread or contact me via PM.

And last but not least: Have fun!

The first match has ended. The winners are Nakagauchi and Tooyama with 4 votes to 2. Hara and Amane have dropped out of the tournament and passed out after drinking Sardine Water Deluxe.

Next up is the C Block match between Tanegashima/Sanada and Irie/Niou, you can find the thread here.

Apologies for the delay.

The match between Tanegashima/Sanada and Irie/Niou is over with the 1st String's No. 2 and the Emperor narrowly winning with 3 votes to 2. In order to avoid the effects of Sardine Water Deluxe, Niou turned into Fuji --- however, the Illusion had no effect. In the meantime, Irie is screaming in agony...! ...Just kidding!?

Over the next two days, we will determine the semifinal opponents of Nakagauchi and Tooyama. Will it be Ochi and Oishi, or Kimijima and Mizuki? Discuss and vote here.

The outcome of Block B's match is decided and Kimijima and Mizuki fall prey to Sardine Water Deluxe after a 3 - 4 defeat. The last round 1 match is now up, the thread is located here. Which one of Ohmagari/Inui and Tokugawa/Kadowaki will move on to the next round?

I'm surprised Kimijima didn't find a way to escape from the Sardine Water Deluxe. I guess sardines>negotiations?

The last match of the first round has ended with Tokugawa (and Kadowaki) emerging victorious. After being unable to reach any of Tokugawa's shots during the first half of the battle, Inui attempted to flee and avoid punishment --- while being chased by Ohmagari, he ran into the grill of a camping family; I will refrain from going into detail. Ohmagari managed to withstand Sardine Water Deluxe... makes you wonder what kind of energy drinks Tsuuge prepares...

Next up is the first semifinal between Nakagauchi/Tooyama and Ochi/Oishi. The match thread can be found here.

As you turn your attention to the battle that's about to start, the shady figure of Kimijima Ikuto is leaving the scene. As you will later find out, the corpse on the ground is actually a stunt double Kimijima hired in advance.

The first pair to advance to the finals consists of Ochi and Oishi after beating Nakagauchi/Tooyama with 3 votes to 2. The second semifinal is between Tanegashima/Sanada and Tokugawa/Kadowaki, the thread is located here.

Sorry for the delay again.

The second semifinal match has come to an end - it was a close battle, but in the end Tokugawa and Kadowaki emerged victorious. They will now meet Ochi/Oishi in the finals, the new thread can be found here. After drinking Sardine Water Deluxe, Sanada is still standing, although he may or may not have lost consciousness. Tanegashima... drank regular water and walked off?!

The final round has ended with two votes to one.

The winners are Tokugawa and Kadowaki.

As always, thanks to everyone who participated. I will leave this thread open for a few more days for any potential comments.
