Baam is an Irregular, which makes him even more special than Seto Kaiba. He doesn't need to screw the rules, rules don't apply to him. Thus he wins by default.

Although Baam seems an interesting character from what I read, I still support Makoto for the following reasons:

Personality-wise (because looks don't matter), Makoto is kind, caring, responsible, and hardworking. He cares deeply for his family and friends. He is a responsible, caring older brother to his siblings. He is nice and respectful to people and not rude to anyone. He is well-mannered. He is great with kids (which makes him a great dad) and can be a great teacher. He is athletic. He is a normal person and for me this is an important feature in a character these days. He does not have any super power or the kind, but is normal.
He is not a delinquent nor an anti-hero nor a "I-am-super-cool" type of guy which makes him all the more unique.
So, in conclusion, Makoto would be a great husband, no doubt in that.
