Israel's opposition leader Yair Lapid told President Reuven Rivlin he has reached agreements to form a new government, moving closer to unseating Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Big changes coming, apparently.

Yeah it's going to be Naftali Bennett, who is supposedly even further right and has bragged about killing Palestinian prisoners. What this situation needed was definitely another ideologue.

Still the situation is different because he knows that his coalition will break if he makes the arab party mad. Getting rid off netanyahu is a win in my book.

This crisis may seem to be an on going violent conflict between Israel and Palestine over the control of the "Holy Land".

But there was in fact a THIRD contender for the control of Jerusalem. One with a VERY violent past but now speaks of peace.
Do they truly wish for peace of are they simply playing their cards and waiting patiently like a serpent for the perfect time to strike?

so Israel is going from a murderous anti-Palestine president to an even more fucked up anti-Pali president still committed to stealing Palestinian lands? It's horrible to see the world stand by or do the bare minimum and let Zionists murder and displace Palestinians and commit violations of human rights.

Zionism is not just a threat to Palestine. It is a threat to Israel far greater than Hamas will EVER be.

How could that possibly be when Zionism is Israel's "right to self determination"?

Because Israel is by definition a "Jewish state" but in order for Israel to be a Jewish state the majority of Israelis must then be Jewish.

This leads to two MAJOR problems

1. How is one's "Jewishness" determined and who gets to determine it?

2. How is a "Jewish" majority maintained? Especially in a region (the Middle East) that is predominately Muslim?

The problem with both of these is that both questions will inevitably lead to (and have already led to) discrimination and then to hate and then violence.

In order for Jews to maintain the majority in Israel, there must be a greater traffic of Jews to Israel than Non-Jews.

But there is only so much land which leads to the settlements but since the Palestinians are already living there it leads to conflict and violence.

The conflict gets even more convoluted when the question of Jewish identity comes up.

Because if Jews are defined as being descended from the Ancient Hebrews then this definition may actually include...Palestinians.

Israel is defined as the Jewish state which requires a Jewish majority which requires land which lead to violent conflict.
That violent conflict causes people to rightfully see Israel as the aggressor.
Because Israel is "the Jewish state" if Israel is seen as the aggressor then so are Jews by extension.
If Jews are collectively seen as aggressors than hatred towards Jews is seen as justified even when it's not.

This leads to a fear of violence against Jews around the world. This fear is then weaponized as propaganda to encourage Jews to move to Israel.

And the cycle continues...

An explosion followed by a fire broke out in an Iranian steel plant early Sunday in the southeastern area of the country, according to Reuters, quoting FARS.

The incident comes in the wake of numerous similar others that have taken place recently throughout Iran.

This might be relevant.

Could be a deliberate act of sabotage by Israel / Mossad.

How Israel Blocks 95% of Enemy Missiles

They claim 1 tamir iron dome missile = $100,000.

edit -

The united states is always talking about using lasers to intercept missiles. It would have a cheaper cost & would by limited by energy rather than ammunition.

I wonder why israel hasn't pursued research in that direciton. Maybe its unfeasible or has significant technical obstacles in terms of range or time?

Its a sheet that looks like a rock and other natural phenomena.

Israel basically made a better version of this from naruto.
