What I meant is that they come across as such, not that they literally did that(sorry that I didn't make that clear) because in at least 1 year since they've likely started these missions, they've only started running into the big shots now; I ackowledged the fact that their practical fighting ability and skill has evolved, but nothing much beyond that. The time-skip feels as devoid and sterile as the existence of athletes on a too tight program, who aside from covering for their daily basic needs, all they do is training and competitions. Donny would have faced anyone to protect friends, he got over his running away tendencies at Sistana. He's somewhat less tardy in reaction time. But it's not enough for how long it's passed and how many incursions they supposedly made into Camelot already. They haven't gotten over their kindergartner level squabbling, particularly on the battlefield, and it's not funny. It was temporarily funny back then, it got old, now it's stale.
I don't know why you think Tristan would be the one to hold that deep a grudge against Percival( to the point he'd join the Dark Side) or that he would let that turn his ideals upside down, when they were barely starting to get to know one-another(a big gripe of mine is that Nakaba didn't allow the 4 enough time together before the timeskip to warrant deep emotional impact should anything happen to break them apart for as long a period as 2+ years and once they're all reunited)...and you're comparing Tristan's relationship with Percival to that he shares with the guy who participated in his making and raised him for 16+ years?! Neither of his parents holds particular grudges against people who haven't harmed them to the extent their parents did, he does take after them, he's merely confused in thinking that he should be only like one of the 2 and not the sum of all he learned from them, and all he doesn't care to...And the biggest issue for him, playing into his unwillingness to tap into his PoD, is that he hates harming people, he hates being too brutal.(It's one trait where he doesn't only parallel Mel, but also King). He will most likely fight Percy in a callback to the Istar cave and it'll be out of their system.
Besides, in a previous post you said it would be his demonic powers influencing him down that path...I'm sorry, but how? When he went demon mode, it didn't change his opinions or intentions, he was always aiming to get back to fighting Arthur, yelling at his father his complaints, but he didn't even try to make it a 3-way-fight, he was merely struggling to bypass Mel. And by blending some of King's character arc into Tristan, Nakaba's been keeping the kid from being too much like Meliodas or Elizabeth. But at the end of the day, the fool doesn't even hold a grudge towards Lancelot, whom he envies for being everything Meliodas is openly proud of. They're rivals, but it doesn't stop them from being friends, nor Tristan from looking up to Lancelot or heeding his advice. It would be even easier to get back to friendly terms with percy once he acknowledges his fears and they put his worries down.
