What was everyone’s first Jump manga they read/followed? Asking out of curiosity. Mine was Naruto. The anime fillers had me looking up the manga and that’s not just how I got into following Jump but manga in general
First was Dragon Ball, it was serialized in my country in comic book issue format as the first manga in 2000 (the other being Video Girl AI for some reason, I think they marketed that Jump manga as a girl comic too, one for each gender) but it got cancelled and only ran until the Jackie Chun fight. But I was barely literate back then and didn't even understand what a manga was. The first one I read and bought as a fan was Naruto in 2007 which started a big manga and anime resurgence here, but my impatience for the next volume quickly turned me onto reading English Edited Mangas, which then got me into following Jump as a whole. I still tried to support their efforts as much a high school kid could, but it didn't last long and manga publishing has been pretty much dead here for years now and never caught on like American comics did (print media market, including novels is just terribly small here, so my whole library and collection is in English too).

Great question. When I was a kid, I was crazy about the 4Kids One Piece dub (before I ever knew it was garbage lol). Also liked Dragon Ball, Naruto, Bleach, etc. Followed up on them all every few years to see what was going on, then early in high school I read the One Piece manga and got caught up. As far as anime/manga, I was only really interested in One Piece up until COVID and then one day I decided to read Jujutsu Kaisen cause it looked cool and I had lots of time on my hands. JJK got me into looking into and following WSJ and Sakamoto Days was the first series I followed weekly from day 1.

Weekly Shonen Jump July Volumes:
ONE PIECE #109
Jujutsu Kaisen #27
Me & Roboco #18
WITCH WATCH #17
The Elusive Samurai #16
Akane-banashi #12
Nue's Exorcist #5
MamaYuyu #3
Kagurabachi #3
Green Green Green #2
Shadow Eliminators #2
Dear Anemone #1
Astro Royale #1
Yeah, veeery fast release for Astro Royale, it will have only 11/12 chapters when volume 1 releases in July, for comparison Shadow Eliminators got axed before and GGG has 21 chapters, they must be very confident in the manga to release so fast.

It'll be an interesting month for sure. This should also be when we see if Elusive gets any boost. My bet's on it climbing to a high 50K to low 60K, like the Fire Force 1st season boost.
50k in a month or weekly? currently it's at 40k-ish per month, personally i don't think the series will get a relevant boost, Fire Force not only recovered but surpassed what initially sold with, but to me TES doesn't feel like a series that will appeal to general audiences due to the theme

So the Black Clover chapters are out, is everyone excited?
Tabata art has been pretty great compared to how it was at the end of the WSJ serialization

What was the last new manga from Weekly Shonen Jump that managed to rank its first volume each week in Shoseki until the release of its second volume?

Kagurabachi only missed 4th week but we can consider it would have done it without these stock issues.
Ichinose-ke no Taizai almost did it but failed two weeks before the second volume.
Ruri Dragon could have done it, but you know what happened to the author.

Does someone know the answer?

Actually this thread has a history of hyping the manga that becomes the flop and ignore the one that become popular kkk

Interesting. Cause for me I vary. I never hype something. But when there are a few series I do praise once I see it it becomes a disappointment once it flops. But for me, I had a good strong reading on what is a success or a flop and I think I have been 90% correct on the ones that do become successful. But for the ones that surprise me for what I thought would be a flop the ones I was wrong were, Me & Roboco, Pppppp (before it actually happened and I converted), Nue’s Exorcist, and Kagurabachi. And for the flops that I thought were successful were, Super Smartphone, Tenmaku Cinema, Martial Master Asumi, and Green Green Greens.

Anyone have a guess at how Shadow Eliminators' vol 1 will perform? It barely had any fans as is, and it being cancelled before the volume even releases surely has to hurt the sales even further.

I'm going to say it'll chart for 2 days at most before dropping off the top 500.

The extra content in MMA #4 totals 49 pages. Sounds like the bonus chapter will be extra long, like Agravity Boys' epilogue. Hopefully M+ translates it.

First Jump manga was either Hokuto no Ken that I was stealing from my jealous brother, or Saint Seiya that my parents were buying for me. Fond memories of both.
