GGG's biggest mistake is making Oga a woman.

Terasaka should have learnt from Kuroko or Prince of Tennis. AND also, it is not a wsj series but there is a reason why Windbreaker is one of the rising popular anime this year (and how many woman character it has?).
I would say that GGG's biggest obstacle was that it was published in the wrong magazine. Green Green Greens is a phenomenal manga. A 9/10 manga. However it isn't a good shonen manga. It didn't have a strong hook to it, it isn't "exciting", and the characters while written very well aren't bombastic and over the top which would attract an audience (note these aren't necessarily flaws). The strengths it does have: its introspection and character work, are not big draws to a younger audience which is why it didn't draw much of an audience West or East. I love GGG, however if I was younger I don't know if I would have picked it up. Compare it to Akane, a non-spokon spokon which manages to draw an audience both in Japan and in the West with an even more niche topic. There it managed to succeed with the big twist and avenge plot in the 1st chapter which hooked readers. It then continued to keep those readers with its dynamic characters. To enjoy, Green Greens though you had to be fine with a slower read.

I think Green Green Greens would have done well in another magazine targeted towards older readers. It's similar to the pitfalls Tenmaku Cinema had, a good manga, but not suited to the magazine it was running in (though less severe in GGG's case).

Chihiro drops like 10-20 bodies every week
Rito Yuuki falls into a girl boobs or panties every other chapter
Elusive Samurai has children soldier

This controversy goes beyond jump, you know any small "abnormality" in majority of japan things turn into a sudden malfunction
So? What's the problem? it's fiction, there is no need to be adapted to reality. Then if we need to compare there are mangas that have a lot of more worse things than just pickpocketing

I think that there’s way too much discussion over such a silly complaint. We didn’t go on this topic for this long when Astro Royale was all, “Actually, the yakuza are pretty sweet and do nothing wrong!”

More than hating or not hating, what I sense is indiference towards Necromance. I see it has failed to grab the attention of the readers in the 3 first chapters (I'd say it's at the same level of indiference Ruirui Senki had, with Dear Anemone having grabbed more attention from fans than Necromance or Ruirui). And in a competitive world like Jump ToC this can be a lethal thing already.
Thank you this is litteraly this, i didn't like Ruirui, but Necromance is just ah this manga exists.

I see some of these comparisons but it just doesn't make sense, first Chihiro is killing not only mob people but bad ones, no one will ever complain about because these getting killed are the scum of society, not to mention Kagurabachi world isn't the same as ours.

Rito falling on girls isn't something made on purpose, he has no perverted intentions, in fact Rito doesn't like falling on girls everytime and is something touched in the series, he also doesn't get away with it many of the times it happens.

Japanese readers have a problem with the way the stealing problem was dealt because shoplifting it's a "real life" thing that hit close to them, it's basically like them also having problems with Yakuza being writen as nice guys, they will say that different than pirates, mafia, spies or professional killers, yakuza is a real threat in Japan that affects people, so it will bother many when they see Yakuza being depicted as good.

We can say is dumb or hypocrite as much as we want but we do the same thing in the west, and at least Psych House isn't getting banned or censored like it happens here in the west when people have problems with it.

I just noticed this but haikyuu must have been severely stock limited .

On the 12th only 2 volumes of haikyuu ranked in the top 500.

Then I guess a reprint hit the stores and it had 36 volumes on the 13th in the top 500 , of which 6 were in the top 200 and the highest volume was at 156th.

Then it had 42 volumes on the 14th in the top 500 , of which 11 were in the top 200 and the highest volume was at 123rd.

Then it had 39 volumes on the 15th in the top 500 , of which 10 were in the top 200 and the highest volume was 119th.

With this I am almost assured that haikyuu will be in the top 10 best selling manga of 2024.

Haikyuu has a really dedicated fanbase that keeps buying it years after it ended . It reminds me of slam dunk.

The Fujoshi fandom is keeping it alive with fanfiction, fanarts, doll photos. I still see many oshi/doll/merchandises photos being uploaded by the fans daily

Just one example of many:

i would most likely do the same for JJK for years to come
