Yakusoku no Neverland/The Promised Neverland - Chapter 102 Review by Seraph

Overview

A typical demonic everyday scene
  • The Chapter starts in a Demon inhabited Town, a Marketplace, and some of the Demon Citizen's are discussing a recent attack on a Plantation called "Bayon's Mass Production Plant 2".
  • One of the Demon Citizens mentions that the recent number of thefts on Mass Production Plants has been increasing, as the other Citizen hears this he wonders why they would attack Mass Production Plants as the attackers seem to only be satisfied by High-Quality Meat. The Former replies that this is due to their fear of the security that the High-Quality Plantations possess, he goes on to say that the attackers most likely stole from the Mass Production Plants as a means of venting their anger on the Bayon Family which he labelled as a Noble Family. The latter voices dismay over the Bayon Family's fate as Lord Bayon has "vanished" for a Year.
  • It's September 2047,1 Year and 7 Months have passed since the Destruction of the Hunting Ground "Goldy Pond".
  • The Conversation continues with one of the Citizens mentioning they really want to taste High-Quality Meat at least once someday,a Demon Child visits one of the stands and orders "Meat". The Products sold on the Demon Market are bottled up Human-Limbs and Organs such as Heads, Legs,Thighs, Arms and Feet.
  • One of the Citizens wonders if the Escapees from Grace Field are still on the Run to which the other replies that they've been a topic for people for 2 Years and that they've been dead for "Ages".
The Walking Dead
  • The Scene shifts to the Shelter Watchroom, Nat and Sonia observe the Outside of the Shelter and give the "Ok!" for Oliver and 2 other Kids to go Hunting.
  • At the same time, we're reminded that the Escape from Grace Field has been 1 Year and 8 Months ago subsequently mentioning that all of the Kids are in fact alive contrary to the Demon's Beliefs.
  • The Kids expanded on their amount of Crop Fields to give them the option of staying inside sometimes instead of Hunting daily, brief interruption as the Kids mention that they always make sure to stay Hidden and alert as well as that they're protecting the Shelter.
  • Due to the Kids maintaining awareness of their surroundings and precausions the Ratri-Clan has a hard time finding them.
  • The Kids supporters have still not contacted them, regardless they're keeping watch on the Phone. They're still trying to find out about the "Seven Walls" as well.
A recount of Events
  • A Flashback to July 2046 occurs, approximately 4 Months after the kids set out for Cuvitidala. After they returned from Cuvitidala they start looking for the Temple-like building that Emma saw as well as the Golden Water.
  • Ray wanders through the Library of the shelter and starts looking for a book with a description of where the Temple could be,at the same time Gilda converses with 2 of the Kids about clues they've found.
  • Ray orders Mark, Alicia and another child to get a few books which he believes to have information on the Golden Water out of one of the shelves, however he does so in a very detailed and specific manner prompting Nigel to point out that Grace Field is scary as the former 3 attend to their given task.
  • As the kids complete the search for the books, Ray starts his research immediatly with Emma and Don agreeing to his suggestions of narrowing down the Location of the Temple based on it's shape versus the topography and cultures they've encountered to that point in time.
  • Half a Month passed and the kids set out to explore the Eastern Side for clues. It took 7 Months to conclude their journey back and forth however the only information they aquired was that the entire Eastern Side was ruled out.
  • Right as they return they decide to set for the Western Side, they've marked 7 possible Locations for the Golden Water and 3 possible locations for The Temple. Each of the 3 locations for the Temple are Demon Towns.
Back to the Present
  • The Group of Emma, Ray, Don, Violet, Gilda and Zack have camouflaged themselves as Demon Citizens and are now passing through a Town.
  • Their disguises cover Demon-like Clothing as well as Masks, their clothing covers everything from the Head down to their feet, nothing about them stands out.
  • They pass the 2 Demon Children from the beginning of the chapter and see that they're carrying a Bottle of Hands, the one carrying the Bottle lifts it up and points out that this is more of the Mass Produced Stuff. He also mentions that he hasn't seen much less eaten any of the High-Quality Meat and wonders how much better it must taste.
  • As he finishes, the other Demon Child notices that one of the people passing them has weird feet as the clothing covering their feet lifted briefly. He does so in a rather loud volume though easily alerting the Undercover "Demons".
  • They quickly vanish from the Street and rush through some back alleys and finally out of the Town.
  • Heading to a close by Forest they take off their disguises and point out that this was a close call from being found out, Gilda immediatly scolds Don as it seems to have been his way of walking that gave them away and while she does so Zack tells her that it's nothing to be worried about subsequently Emma and Ray praise the Grand Valley Kids for their great job on the Masks and incense they gave them for this Trip with Ray pointing out the amount of First Hand Research on the Demons they have to create such real disguises is scary.
  • Emma and Co. returned to the shelter and after greeting another and confirming everyone's safety she announces proudly that they found the location of both the Temple and the Golden Water.

Chapter's Rating
I'd give this Chapter a Rating of 8 out of 10.

Before giving my rating I factored in what this chapter delivered to me as a Reader and what it contributes to the story, Character Interactions as well as Characterization.

Personal Thoughts

This Chapter was pretty good,i wasn't exactly sure what to think about the previous TPN Chapters as they sort of felt underwhelming and didn't really give me much development for the Story itself as they either just skipped mention worthy amounts of time with no switch of scene or any explanation on what occured during the trips or simply cut off at parts where i personally would have liked to get more focus on such as Andrew visiting Phil.

We may have gotten another Timeskip, even more time had passed than in previous skips, but we at least got a for me proper recount of what has happened during the passed time or at least mostly what they've been up to.
Ray leading the research and narrowing down the possible locations of the Water and the Temple was as usual nice to see,he has proper intellect and finesse for these things and i think that makes him one of the stand outs in most chapters as he doesn't need much advice or help as he knows many things on his own or just reads himself into the subject he has an interest in. That makes him quite an accomplished character, given his age and background.

Not just that but we got back to the current happenings as well, short but enough to show us the struggles they've taken onto themselves just to prove their research right and to reach their Bigger Goal of going to the Human World together.

I was impressed by the On-Point disguises made by the Grand Valley Kids, they fit in just nicely in the Demon crowds and if not for the Clothing lifting up briefly they had not been noticed it seems.

I always have a hard time making a good guess as to what happens next with TPN, I say it goes right and it goes left, which doesn't mean it went a bad direction for me not at all quite the contrary infact as it usually surprises me with not following down one road but walking on the other as well.

I'd say we can expect Emma and Co. to tell Yuugo and the others about their Journey and possibly what the Temple means for the Demons and where exactly the Golden Water lies and comes into play as well, I mean it's the obvious thing to do after on travels Non-Stop for their Plan. They just have to bring the others into the Picture of things.

I could also see a Switch of Scene to the Ratri-Clan and how they haven't managed to find the Kids after all this time, which would also mean we'd get a glimpse of Norman after all the time that has passed and see how he's been doing and if he has changed after being with Peter for such an amount of Time.

Yakusoku no Neverland/The Promised Neverland - Chapter 103 Review by Emperor Spriggan

This week's chapter starts with an owl being spotted. In the context of the story, the owl is used as the royal sigil of House Minerva. But in real world applications, in some cultures an owl is often looked upon as a bad omen. An omen of death to be exact. Does that mean something grim is about to happen in the chapter? Let's read on and see.

The scene then shifts to Emma and the other kids in the bunker. She tells them about their adventures, and how upon their third try they successfully managed to find the temple that Emma saw in her vision in Cuvitidala. We get an amusing snippet of Gilda hugging Emma in glee while both of them are still in their demon disguises, while in the background Violet tells them to calm down and Ray wonders whether they've succeeded completely. As the kids head up the stairs, they spot someone already there clad in a black cloak, feeding some birds. My guess? It's probably the same person we saw at the end of Chapter 98 who told the kids to remain safe till he meets up with them. The only outlier for me would be that the cloak colors are different. He doesn't try to make contact with them, which is weird all things considered. Could he be a watchman of sorts to the entrance of the temple?

Ray and the other kids realize the entrances to the temple are all sealed off via bars. But they can still manage to see what's inside the building. There's a statue of a feminine demon holding someone in her arms, a portrait that has flowers around it and a stone that has drawings of demons on it. In the middle of the portrait, Ray notices the eye which they also saw at Cuvitidala and which Musica's amulet is shaped after. Violet draws the group's attention to something she notices. It's a carving of a female demon seated in a crouched position. Above the demon is the eye again, and all around it there seem to be food offerings. The whole setting itself seems to hold some religious significance to it, something which makes Emma wonder whether it's the leader of the demons, He Who's Name Cannot be Spelled. Ray looks upward to the sky and notices that there's a day and night painting in the sky. In another section of the building, they find a painting of the golden waters. And in yet another section of the building, they find a painting of demons, much like the stone slab they first saw when they got there. The paintings in the sky all seem to connect, something which makes Emma figure out something. She thanks the kids and says all of this would not be possible without their help, and then tells them the key to finding the place with day and night is golden water. But just before she can divulge more details, something terrible happens.

Pepe suddenly rushes into the vicinity from the control room and tells everyone to run since the enemy is just outside. This eerily connects to the beginning of the chapter with the sighting of the owl, and the bad omen comes to happen. The entrance to the bunker is blown off its hinges, and.....it's Andrew on the other side! Does this mean Phil finally caved in and confessed where the other kids were? Or is this a red herring and Andrew is there to help? Personally, I want it to be the second one, mostly because it would be unexpected. I had expected the bunker to be attacked as Emma, Ray, Don and Gilda went to Cuvitidala the first time round, but having it attacked as all of them are there? Certainly an unexpected development. What will happen next?

Final chapter rating-7.5/10

Overall, this was a pretty decent chapter. We received more information about the demon world of Neverland, and we're almost about to find out how the kids can get to the place of Day and Night in order to redo the promise. The real meat of the chapter of course, was the cliffhanger with Andrew raiding the bunker. It was a place that was supposed to offer security, so there are a billion questions about how he managed to get there.
I expect there to be some sacrifices next chapter, in the form of decoys. Possibly Yugo and Lucas, who sacrifice themselves in order to allow the kids to escape. But after seeing how the Goldy Pond arc concluded, it's possible everyone might be safe and sound once this assault is over. I do hope we learn more about what happened to Phil, and that he hasn't been befallen by anything grim.

Yakusoku no Neverland/The Promised Neverland - Chapter 104 Review by Seraph

Overview

The Ratri Clan's Invasion of the Shelter!
  • The Chapter starts with Pepe entering the Room where Emma was just about to finish explaining to the others what they've found out about the Golden Water and the connection to the Temple,he alerts them that they're under Enemy attack!
  • Meanwhile on the Outside we can see a Soldier detonating a set of Explosives, simultaneously a blast occurs at what seems to be the Entrance to the Shelters Hallway.
  • Andrew gives the Signal for the Soldiers to move in and dispose of the inhabitants.
  • The Kids after being alarmed by Pepe immediately started hiding in a Secret Room whose Entrance is hid by a Piano in front of it,the Room is filled with Guns of various calibers and Types.
  • Emma makes sure if everyone managed to get safely into the Room,Gilda reassures Emma by telling her that she counted the Kids present and that out of the 61 People that are residing in the Shelter only Rossi and Lucas are not with them at the current time.
  • 2 of the Kids while visibly scared realize that their Enemy is in fact Human and the Ratri Clan has come for them,as they do so Zack wonders how they could've found the Shelters Location without them realizing about it. Pepe showing Frustration over not having been able to spot them earlier reveals that they appeared all of a Sudden from the Darkness and that despite him observing their surroundings carefully.
  • As Ray internally wonders how the Ratri Clan might've slipped past their surveillance,Oliver tells Pepe to calm down and asks him how many Enemies there are with the latter telling him that there are 8 men in total. Yuugo starts sweating at the mere thought of having 8 armed men to deal with.
  • Pepe goes on reveal that Rossi went with Lucas because he was worried about the latter's bad leg and is currently with him in the other Secret Room that has their Phone for contacting their Allies in it. He goes on to say that as long as both remain in that Room they won't be found by the Ratri Clan.
The Resolve to leave
  • The Soldiers continue their search of the Children, they checked their Bedrooms,Kitchen and the Surveillance-Room.
  • Andrew concludes that not a single Person is inside the Shelter and wonders if the Kids could've noticed them coming and ran away beforehand,as he inspects a tea pot he notes that it is still warm. Shortly after he calls on a Soldier waiting on the Shelter's Entrance and questions him about any movements on the Surface which he negates.
  • He concludes that they were around until just a short time ago and that they're still inside the Shelter, hiding from them.
  • Ray notes that even if they hide it is only a matter of Time until they're found out,as he does Rossi asks Lucas what they should do next.
  • Emma tells everyone to run away from the Shelter as the Enemy is aware of their current Location,Yuugo supports her Statement by saying that given their Enemy Numbers the Ratri-Clan must be well informed about the Shelter.
  • Hearing this, some of the Kids express their Sadness over leaving their Home,Nat shows concern over them losing their only means to contact their Allies with.
  • Yuugo says that Surviving this situation is more important and that they've prepared for an Emergency like this, they've hid and prepared Supplies to bring with them in case they have to leave and they also hid Weapons in every Room. This gets confirmed as the previously unarmed Lucas hands Rossi a gun for self-defense in the other Room.
  • a short Flashback occurs in which Yuugo tells the Children where the Escape Route is,as he does so he opens a hidden Door for them and tells them the number of Entrances in and out of the Shelter.
  • There are 3 Entrances to the Shelter, including the Original Entrance they've always used,Yuugo refers to the other 2 as "Emergency Exits". 2 of the Kids climb into a small entrance created by lifting out a Panel in the Wall.
  • Yuugo goes on to reveal that there are 7 ways leading to the Emergency Exits:
  1. From the back of the Armory.
  2. The North Hallway.
  3. The Monitor Room.
  4. The Archive Room.
  5. The Bath Room.
  6. The South Hallway.
  7. The Secret Room with the Phone in it.
When the Cattle strikes back!
  • As Lucas and Rossi enter one of the Hidden Tunnels,Emma and Co. mention that the Enemy made the Mistake of invading at Night since it is going to provide them the perfect cover. Don thinks to himself that they'll try to get to the Tunnels that Sonju was using before, whereas Ray notes that it is going to take them an entire Day of walking just to get back to the Forest.
  • Emma counts their losses and mentions that as long as they remain alive they'll manage to reach their goal one way or another, but survival is absolute priority.
  • The Group around Emma enters another one of the Tunnels, hoping to reach the Outside.
  • Andrew conducts another Status-Check this time it's the Soldier inside the Monitor Room that has to answer his call, the Children switched the Cameras from Real Time to another Mode and now the Monitors seem to only display "dummy" images. However, the Soldier is already at getting Real Time Footage back running. What the Soldier does not know is that Lucas and Rossi were eavesdropping on him giving a report to Andrew.
  • Andrew orders the Soldier as soon as Real Time Footage is back up and he can observe the current happenings outside he shall report to him immediately if one of the Children appears on the Monitors.
  • Lucas realized that the Soldier knows about the Dummies and that once they're taken down he'll be able to spot all their Friends while leaving the Shelter. Lucas makes up his mind,he has to take the Soldier in charge of the Room down quickly before he completes taking down the "Dummy" Images. He tells Rossi to stay hidden and that he'll take care of it.
  • Lucas sneaks up on the Soldier and jumps on his back, subduing his movements with his legs and starts to choke him until he loses consciousness.
He tells Rossi to stay hidden and that he's going to break all the Monitors so they have no way of observing the Outside anymore. Before he does so he picks up the Soldiers radio and as he listens to it he shows shock.
  • Rossi starts running through the Tunnel,he wants to reach Emma and Co. Another flashback occurs in which Lucas tells Rossi to catch up to the group and warn them, the Message he heard previously was Andrew ordering the Soldiers to fortify all the Exits. As the Flashback ends Rossi wonders how the Enemy could've known about the Emergency Exits and that he has to let the others know before it's too late.

Chapter Rating
I'd rate this Chapter a 9 out of 10.

Before giving my rating I factored in what this chapter delivered to me as a Reader and what it contributes to the story, Character Interactions as well as Characterization.

Personal Thoughts

This Chapter was great, one of the best since we've left Grace Field i might just say. It had you feel the tension and dramatic of the Situation the Children are in,it's nice to see when the Author can draw their Reader in like that in my Opinion.

I liked Yuugo and Lucas in this Chapter quite much they showed off their maturity and clear-headedness in face of an Emergency such as this,Lucas taking down the Soldier was rather unexpected from me but still definitely impressive given his missing arm and bad leg.
Yuugo leading and worrying about their safety was nice too, ever since they got back from Goldy Pond he has undergone quite the change and not for the worse i think. I actually find him much better with this kind and caring attitude than before,it suits him.

I do wonder how Andrew found the shelter and what exactly he learned from interrogating Phil,i think they knew about the Weakness of the Shelters because they fell for the dummy shelters that were set up by Minerva before. They most likely had the same Equipment and after multiple times encountering them they probably came up with some Strategy to counter the surveillance. And that might be how they knew about the Emergency Exits too.

The Kids having prepared for a Situation such as this one was impressive actually,i expected them to have met some precautions would've been disappointed if they had been caught by surprise just like this.
I'm definitely curious what the next Chapter will show us,i expect Rossi to not make it in Time actually and the Kids running straight into Andrew's arms.
It doesn't seem likely but i can't see the Kids just get out of this Situation without any harm to themselves,i also wonder if Andrew uses Phil's Safety to pressure them into giving into his demands (If he has any).

Yakusoku no Neverland Chapter 105 Review by Emperor Spriggan

Alright, let's break down this chapter shall we?

Following up from last week, we see Emma and the other kids meandering through the tunnels underneath the shelter after safely managing to escape from there under the pursuit of Andrew's crew. Unknown to them, their pursuers are aware of the underground pathways. That means any shred of hope Emma carries with her followers is a false sense of security. The kids themselves are armed which is a good thing. Though, even if they have experience fighting demons, sadly that doesn't translate to fighting humans.

This is when we see Yuugo turn to Ray and talk to him about something that had been on his mind. In my opinion, Yuugo should be the one at the forefront leading the kids and not Emma. Simply because he's the adult there and it's much safer with him in the lead. I digress however. Yuugo asks Ray regarding only sending 8 people to subdue a whole shelter of 60 people. In hindsight, it makes no sense doing that. Ray says that they might have sent a squad of elite people, with full knowledge of how many kids there were there. Ray then adds on that sending a few number of people probably means this is an event the Ratri clan wants to keep under wraps. The fewer people who know, the better. To himself, he thinks back to how the enemies in the shelter knew exactly about the shelter's location, the positions of each cameras and their subsequent blindspots. He's worried that there was something they were overlooking here massively, but does not voice out these concerns to anyone, not even Yuugo next to him. All he can hope for is that his worries were baseless and everything would end up working itself out well.

Ahead of the group, we switch back to Emma and the other kids. Two of them offer to go ahead and secure the gate to allow the others to pass safely through. A few paces ahead though, things suddenly take a grim turn. Two corpses fall from above the ground, and the kids all panic. Suddenly, Chris is shot at and Emma immediately moves to rescue him (Not sure how realistic this is, bullets are hard to dodge and this is isn't a superhuman series. But I think I vaguely remember something about Emma having the best physicals out of the whole group, maybe that came into play here). Gilian shouts at Emma immediately to run away, and all hell breaks loose. A brief exhange of gunfire occurs, but the enemies are unhurt. It turns out that Chris wasn't completely saved. There's blood trickling down his face, while Gilian and Yugo immediately realize that the enemies have bulletproof vests. Fighting against them is meaningless since they can't kill them.

Suddenly, all the kids are addressed in a loud voice. The person on the other end is Andrew, and he bluntly states the enemy's objectives. To kill all the kids. This immediately kills any notions that Andrew was an enemy in disguise (Something which I also had faith in before now, welp, there goes that). He then proceeds to admit that over the past one year and 9 months, the Ratri Clan had managed to locate and dispose off all the kids's sympathizers. Which meant that currently, no one would appear to help them out of this predicament. Everyone there is in shock, but Andrew adds on that they got information about the shelter, its architectural structure and its defences as well. Whether or not this implies there's a traitor among the kids I honestly don't know. I just hope that this doesn't connect back to Phil, but after seeing Andrew's personality I wouldn't be surprised if he did end up torturing the little kid for information. To add insult to injury, he caps off by telling the kids that all the exits were secured, and if they came forward they wouldn't have to suffer before dying.

There's a period of silence shortly after, as the kids digest everything they have been told. Immediately, some of them realize the reason they have not gotten a call in months is probably because of what Andrew told them. Yuugo reassures them to calm down, and tells them to warn those in the back. Ray is in distress and wonders what they can even do to escape this situation. Andrew's warning earlier makes him realize they weren't about to be captured and taken back alive. This was a full on extermination. As if realizing what Ray was thinking, Yuugo then thinks to himself that extermination made sense since the kids existence was living proof of the Ratri clan's failure. Ray starts brainstorming for a way to escape, but ahead of everyone else, Emma is distraught.

She seems to have fallen into shock, much like she had when Lewis had killed Jake and Monica. Helplessly, she tries pleading with Andrew, spilling all the kids plans about remaking the promise and finding the Seven Walls. I am honestly not fond of this by her. I get that it's Emma's thing to be idealistic and always optimistic, but why would you tell your enemies about what you're planning on doing? It only gives them an incentive to kill you more. Ironically, this is also a strategy she had tried with Lewis but to no avail, so I'm not sure what she thinks she's trying to pull here. This is the reason as to why its frustrating reading about some of her scenes sometimes. Too much black and white, she's incapable of viewing the world through any other glasses.

As expected, Andrew obviously doesn't care. He goes on to insist that Emma's confession made the matter of exterminating the kids more prudent. Even if humans would be forgiving of what Emma and her group were planning to do, that change would not be welcomed by the Ratri Clan. He then takes of his glasses, in their place equipping a gas mask before telling the kids that rights and such other priviledges didn't belong to them as they were livestock. That was all they'd ever be. This completely demoralizes the kids, and they lose any traces of fighting spirit they had. Suddenly, the passage ways fill up with gas. Andrew's intention seems to be to blow the entire place to kingdom come, and Yuugo, realizing this, shouts to the kids to close the fire door. The chapter ends with all the kids huddled up in one place, completely surrounded and with no means of escape.

This was a brilliant follow up from last week's chapter.I especially like how ruthless Andrew is, and it does give the manga a much needed sense of tension especially after what happened at Goldy Pond. It also probably furthers the narrative about humans being worse enemies than the demons, which is a plus one in my opinion. How they will escape from this is probably tied to the hooded person who Emma and the others ran into in their last trip to discover the secret to the Seven Walls. Other than that,I see no other chances for them to escape. Musica/Sung Ju are an obvious option, but it would be redundant with the time they were saved from the plantation demons. Lucas is also unaccounted for, so you don't know what will happen with him.

All in all, exceptional chapter. There was a bit of a slow burn for a while with this manga, but the past three chapters have been all reminiscent of the initial chapters of the series.

Yakusoku no Neverland/The Promised Neverland - Chapter 106 Review by Seraph

Overview

We have to survive at all Costs!...Easier said than done...
  • The Chapter starts with Emma and the Kids running through one of the Emergency Tunnels, simultaneously Andrew and one of his men observe the Entrance in front of them.
  • Andrew while seemingly nervous starts tapping with his Fingers again, while thinking to himself he reveals that one of his men informed him about the Number of Targets within the Shelter to be around 60 People which said Soldier found out by counting the amount of Toothbrushes in the Bathroom.
  • Andrew expected the Target Count to be around 60 People as the Grace Field Kids have teamed up with the Kids kept at Goldy Pond,he starts wondering how the Kids were able to evacuate so quickly despite their Surprise Attack at Night.
He also wonders how the Kids found out about the Seven Walls,he ponders if not one of the Supporters or James Ratri aka William Minerva informed them about it.
  • He continues to wonder while looking at a Bullet that was stuck in his Armor from the previous exchange with the Kids, where and how they got their Weapons. He notes that the Weapons at the Shelter differ from the Weapons they've found at Goldy Pond.
  • He concludes his train of thought by pondering if there are Rooms in the Shelter that weren't on the Blueprints they've aquired,he also notes that the Information that the Supporters were protecting from them isn't perfect and thanks to that their Plan is being hindered now. He calls out to his Soldiers on Standby.
  • Switch of Scene to the Kids,Ray thinks to himself that if they allow the Enemies to surround them and reach their Current Location it is going be over for them as they'll be annihilated immediatly. He notes that the only way for them to get out of this is to take down all of the Invaders as they would only end up chasing them down if they made it out of the Shelter.
  • Ray hesitates for a moment as he reminds himself that their Enemies are Humans this time,he notes that including himself there aren't many within their Ranks that could actually go through with killing a Human being. Yuugo notes that if they don't do it,the Situation will get out of hand very quickly.
  • Nigel and Gillian note that their Enemy has the Advantage in Equipment and Mobility as they can't move quickly with their numbers,Emma ponders how they can get out of this Situation without having anyone else dying on them. Right as she finishes her train of thought,Oliver comes running from behind with Rossi by his side.
The Getaway!
  • The out of breath and just arrived Rossi tells Emma and Co. about Lucas Position and his recent moves,he informs them that Lucas took down an Enemy Soldier and broke the Monitors and is planning to meet them later on. He hands over the Soldiers Radio that Lucas gave him previously and continues to inform the others about the Enemies next Move.
  • While Rossi was running to reach his Friends,he heard how Andrew informed the Soldiers that the Kids are retreating East from the First Emergency Exit. He continues to alert the "Surface-Team" to keep their eyes on the 2nd Emergency Exit and that the Soldiers positioned in the North and South Corridors as well as the West Central End should start moving. He orders all available Units to surround their Enemies.
  • After hearing Rossi's Report,Ray concludes that the Enemies Current Positions are as Follows:
  • As everyone makes out a way for them to escape Ray praises Rossi for a job well done and that this Information is a huge help for them.
  • Emma explains their next Move,if the only Enemy closing in on them from the Front is the Soldier in the North Corridor they can make it through a certain Pathway which by extension would ruin the Enemies Plan of surrounding them in the Tunnels.
  • Oliver wonders why the Enemy would have a gap like that in their Formation but right as he does so Rossi cuts in and tells him that Lucas is actually making sure that the Enemy doesn't discover the Secret Room with the Phone as well as the Armory below the Dining Room. Emma asks Rossi about Lucas current Position, the latter replies that after breaking the Monitors he was going to make his way to the Regular Exit and open it.
  • The Kids make up their mind, before the Enemy notices them they'll run through the armory and leave using the Regular Exit. Paula and Oliver went ahead to help Lucas and as they do so the Enemy starts searching the Tunnels as noted by Ray.
Yuugo and Lucas: Adults in Action!
  • Lucas sneaks up once more behind a Soldier, this time it's a Member of the "Surface-Team",he takes him out with a clean shot to the head.
  • After taking the Soldier in the Monitor Room out Lucas put his Armor and Equipment on as Protection for himself,he opens the Regular Exit for the others.
  • Emma and Co. make their way out of the Shelter,a brief celebration over the feat accomplished follows. Some of the younger Children run towards Lucas and hug him,as they do Lucas calls out to Yuugo.
  • Yuugo questions if everybody made it out,and continues saying that if they did then they should all run away right this instant.
  • As some of the Kids wonder about his intentions Yuugo responds by saying that he and Lucas will stay behind to deal with the remaining 6 Soldiers,so nobody follows them while they run away from the Shelter and once they're done they'll catch up to them.
  • Ray,Gillian and Nigel protest against this and ask to be taken along, which Lucas and Yuugo forbid by saying that they should go on ahead without them and that that's final.
  • Yuugo recalls Ray pondering about who else but him and a few others would be able to kill fellow Humans,as he finishes he kneels down to the corpse of the previously killed Soldier and takes his Gasmask from him. As he does he tells them that there is no need for Kids to carry a burden like that and they should leave it to the Grown Ups while jokingly reminding them that only 2 Adults could fill in the 2 Empty Spots within the Enemy Ranks as the Kids won't fit into their Armor and Equipment. Lucas chuckles in the background.
  • As Emma tries to express concern over their safety Yuugo replies that this is the best decision they can make in this Situation,he reassures her that they'll catch up as soon as they can and that they should take the recently wounded Christy to a safe place and rest for a bit.
  • After they separate,Yuugo and Lucas who climbed back down note how Nostalgic this Shelter is for them and that it is the best place to become their final resting spot.
Chapter Rating
I'd rate this Chapter a 7.5 out of 10.

Before giving my rating I factored in what this chapter delivered to me as a Reader and what it contributes to the story, Character Interactions as well as Characterization.

Personal Thoughts

I liked this Chapter, infact i'm liking the recent TPN Chapters a lot because they gave me this Atmosphere and Vibe of the time they left and escaped Grace Field back to be honest.
We have Action,Nice Dialogues between the Protagonists, you can actually feel the stakes at hand and how serious this situation is for them.

Lucas has continued to impress and surprise me,not only does he manage to subdue a trained Soldier with only 1 Arm he also manages to accurately aim and shoot with only 1 Arm despite most high Calibre Guns having a certain recoil to them when you fire them with 1 hand. It seems nonsensical in Reality but in a Fantasy Story you have to give him Credit for it,seeing someone do things you wouldn't dream of in Reality or don't think possible in the first place just has an impact on you.

Yuugo has also done a fantastic Job at leading and protecting the Kids while in the tunnels,Emma and Ray were pretty good as well in this Chapter.
Emma has been surprising me lately as well, actually ever since they first reached the Shelter she has continued to get better and better. She is doing what i'd expect and want from a MC in a Story like TPN,she took initiative and provided quick deductions of multiple Situations so far. She hasn't fallen into the common Shounen-MC trope by having her act like a total baboon or just outright dumb sometimes for me.

I'm torn on Yuugo and Lucas staying behind,it is a Wise decision don't get me wrong but it is also a risky one as the Kids don't exactly have an experienced Leader around anymore and the younger Kids needing someone to look up to or feel safe with other than Emma and Ray.
I wonder if they'll actually die here but with the recent developments and current Situation as well as their ending Words it seems likely,Emma said they know where they have to go and how they can meet
to forge a new Promise as well so i guess this will be their destination next. If they can make a new Promise that assures everyone's safety they can go and get the Kids from the other Plantations and also get Norman back from Peter Ratri. So it would seem logical to me.

I think Lucas and Yuugo plan on taking out as many Soldiers as they can,but they'll most likely end up overwhelmed by their Enemies Forces and resort to using the Detonator for the Shelter and take them all down with them. As the Explosion occurs,Emma and Co. will look back and be shocked by it and afterwards break down crying. I could see this happen next,or at least i hope the Author focuses on Lucas and Yuugo and doesn't just follow the Kids leaving us wondering about their Fate.

Yakusoku no Neverland Chapter 107 Review by Emperor Spriggan
The chapter begins with a brief reminder of the cliffhanger last week, where Yuugo and Lucas parted ways with the kids. The cover chapter of the manga also features the two adults, and underneath them is one of the dead invaders. Perhaps a foreshadowing that Lucas and Yuugo will emerge victorious? Let's read on and see.

Lucas and Yuugo are walking in the shelter, and break out into a bout of nostalgia as they reminisce about the first days they discovered the shelter. There's a short flashback where we see young Yuugo and one of his old crew finally finding the place. The kids all seem happy, and at the end of the flashback we have Yugo realizing how everything that has happened till now is the fault of the Ratri clan. Starting from Minerva's murder and ending with the hunting park. He thinks about his dead comrades once again, and a girl named Diana before promising to avenge them all. Lucas, as if seeming to read his thoughts tells Yuugo that they will destroy all the enemies in the bunker.

Yuugo remarks on how this isn't a bad way to die for the two of them, but before that the enemies must die. Because if they fail to stop them here, they will go after the kids next.

The scene then cuts to Andrew and one person walking behind him. He uses his communicator to contact the guys in the above rooms, but gets no reply. The person behind him decides to go ahead and check what was the matter. The monitor room is found to be empty. Before he can go back and regroup with Andrew, the door closes behind him and Yuugo ambushes him. Andrew then asks through his communicator what happened to the guy who went ahead, before Yuugo picks up on the other side. He proceeds to address all the invaders in the shelter informing them that three of their comrades are already dead. His parting shot is that everyone else there will also die, and taunts Andrew and company to come at them and see how hard they can bite.

Andrew looks pensive for a moment, before instructing his men to switch frequencies so as not to get interfered with. He then deduces that Yuugo is probably a distraction, to keep them away from the kids, something which of course means that the kids managed to escape. That changes nothing however. They would deal with the ones inside first before pursuing the escapee kids. He offers some more instructions to his men, before finalizing them by saying they would take out everyone together. His men affirm to this positively.

Lucas realizes there are 5 people remaining. He then shoots around haphazardly in one of the corridors of the shelter, clearly using himself as bait to draw the enemies there. Andrew realizes that this is an obvious trap, and warns his men to be on stand by to wait for his arrival. One of the vanguard responds, but just behind him stands Yuugo who quickly dispatches of him. Andrew manages to get there in time to find a retreating Yuugo who he shoots at. None of the shots hit their mark, even one that was designated as a head shot. Yuugo manages to regroup with Lucas. Lucas fires at Andrew and one of his comrades, then the scene cuts to a flashback again.

There's a small girl seen with Yugo and Lucas this time, asking them if they were fighting again. The two boys then play together and work on teamwork, reminiscent to how Ray and Norman were in the chapters after Krone's introduction. Lucas watches Diana and tries to approach her, but he sees Yuugo blushing as he looks at her. He then tells his dark haired friend to man up and confess to her, but Yuugo turns that on him and tells him he's one to talk. Again, reminiscent of how Norman loves Emma, except this time the 'Emma' of the past is adored by two men. A book drops to the ground and the kids in Yuugo's shelter plan to escape. Another parallel to how Emma and her friends plotted to escape from Grace Field in the beginning of the story. Just then, the flashback ends and Yuugo delivers a killing blow to another of the enemies. He thinks back to how many times they have fought in the past, all the enemies they have encountered before emotionally declaring that him and Lucas's lives were not the play toys of the Ratri Clan.

The chapter ends with Lucas and Yuugo finally coming face to face with Andrew. The man in glasses seems shocked at how well the two are doing, wondering to himself how they are this good despite being mere cattle.

Overall, this was a pretty solid chapter. Both emotion wise and action wise. It was really remarkable to see Yuugo's resolve the entire chapter. From wanting to die last chapter to finding his will to live and fight on, ironically this was much like Ray's character development earlier in the story. The part about Diana was really heart warming to see as well. I don't think both of them will survive the fight against Andrew, but we'll see what happens next chapter.

I rate this chapter a solid 8/10.

Yakusoku no Neverland/The Promised Neverland - Chapter 108 Review by Seraph

Overview

Yuugo and Lucas: Willpower and Determination!
  • The Chapter starts with Yuugo and Lucas continuing their struggle against Andrew and the rest of his men,Lucas beaten Leg starts acting up as he tries running away from the Bullet exchange between Yuugo and Andrew.
  • Andrew after silently cursing Yuugo and Lucas in his mind starts rationally analysing his Opponents,he wonders if they truly grew up in Plantations and how they developed such skill and accuracy with Guns as they displayed so far. He continues to question how old his Opponents actually are since they're certainly not Children anymore.
  • Andrew wonders if Yuugo and Lucas are Survivors of the Glory Bell Escapees from 15 years ago,he concludes that the Extermination of them wasn't completed.
  • He briefly shifts his attention onto Lucas of who he notes that he only has 1 Arm and is dragging his leg, feeling secure with his analyzations Andrew tells himself that any surprise attacks won't work anymore and that he's going to catch up to them now.
  • As he concludes his train of thought Andrew calls out to his remaining Soldiers,as he does they show up from the two paths in front of Yuugo and Lucas, they're now surrounded because Andrew is charging after them.
  • Yuugo tells Lucas that they'll break through,he pulls out a Handgun and starts his attack on the 2 Soldiers in Front of them while Lucas covers his back by firing at Andrew who is seeking cover next to a shelf at the Entrance to the Emergency Tunnels.
The Friendship of Two Men!
  • Yuugo continues his exchange of fire with the 2 Soldiers in front of him, while he manages to hit them he fails to deliver a deciding shot on either of them.
  • Andrew pulls out a Grenade and throws it towards Lucas and Yuugo,as the former notices this he throws his gun away and jumps towards Yuugo throwing him onto the ground. The Grenade explodes right above them.
  • The blast caused some bedrock to fall down on them, the tunnel hasn't collapsed entirely.A Soldier closes in on the debris atop of Yuugo and Lucas, attempting to confirm their Death.
  • As he does,Andrew tells him over the radio to keep his guard up and maintain a certain distance to the targets as well as to shoot their heads immediatly to make absolutely certain they're dead.
  • Right as the Soldier confirms he is shot in the head by none other than Yuugo by his feet, as the Soldier falls to the ground Yuugo and Lucas emerge from under the Rubble. There are only 2 of the Intruders remaining now,Andrew and one of his Soldiers.
  • Yuugo who is now supporting the wounded Lucas continues his exchange with the Intruders, right in the middle of it he notes that his handgun is out of ammo and throws it away.
  • While running,Yuugo tells Lucas that the previous blast wasn't as powerful since the Enemies had to make sure they wouldn't be buried alive in the Tunnel. He continues to voice his optimism by saying that if they keep up their pace from before they'll be able to kill the remaining intruders and escape through the Emergency Exits like Emma and Co.
  • Lucas interrupts him and states that it is already futile for him to continue as his organs seem to have taken damage from the blast and he can't move his body properly anymore. He tells Yuugo to leave him behind and make a run for it as he is only a burden to him like this. This time Yuugo interrupts him and tells him that he won't leave his friend behind again as the regret from doing so 13 Years ago almost ate him up. They either live together or die together, nobody gets left behind by themselves.
The Finale!
  • Lucas hands Yuugo his gun,and the latter starts putting up a fight once more by repeatedly firing at their pursuers who maintain their counterfire.
  • The Intruders manage to hit Lucas with multiple shots, however, they only managed to hit his armor meaning the only thing he felt from the shots were the impact on the armor.
  • Yuugo tells Lucas to keep running and that they absolutely have to get into "That Room",Andrew says that this is the end for them and lands a shot on Yuugo which resulted in him spilling a bit of blood.
  • It is revealed that Yuugo and Lucas were making their way towards the Armory, the continuous fire from Andrew and his remaining Soldier resulted in them being totally exhausted and lying on the ground. It is also revealed that Andrew's shot on Yuugo only grazed his cheek,he does however have several shot marks at the back of his Armor showing how intense the fire of the Intruders actually was.
  • Yuugo asks Lucas if he is still alive,as the latter remains silent Yuugo repeats his Question.
  • Andrew arrives at the Armory and voices his awe regarding the amount of Weapons present in the Armory,he says that the amount of Weapons is only natural given who they were provided for.
  • He continues by ridiculing Yuugo's Judgement, had he left Lucas behind and ran to the Armory by himself he might've succeeded in putting up a struggle against them and ultimately overwhelm them as they sooner or later would've ran out of ammo whereas Yuugo himself would've had the entire Armory at his disposal.
  • Andrew says that Yuugo is most likely incapable of even holding a Gun anymore, which makes it even more laughable for him.
  • Yuugo replies by saying that the only fool is Andrew himself,he continues his speech by saying that Emma and her Friends are going to change the World even if he succeeds in killing them now. No matter how much Andrew looks down on the "Cattle-Children" they'll be the ones to end this 1000 Year old system of theirs and they'll put an end to this rotten world they currently reside in as well.
  • Andrew announces that after he kills Yuugo and Lucas he'll hunt down Emma and Co. to put an end to their plans and dreams for good,as he does so Yuugo thinks to himself that he won't let anyone die. He calls out to Lucas who is revealed to be alive.
  • Lucas while aiming his gun at Andrew announces together with Yuugo that the Intruders are dying with them right here,as they do so Andrew notices gas flowing into the room and realizes that it is Combustible Gas.
  • As Lucas fires his handgun,Yuugo cracks a smile and they silently bid their Friends farewell. Another Explosion occurs, strong enough to burst open the Entrance of the Shelter.
Chapter Rating
I'd rate this Chapter a 9 out of 10.

Before giving my rating I factored in what this chapter delivered to me as a Reader and what it contributes to the story, Character Interactions as well as Characterization.

Personal Thought's

This Chapter was fantastic,i pretty much got what i anticipated and expected to happen.
Yuugo and Lucas put up a final struggle before going out with a Blast,i didn't expect they'd use Combustible Gas for it but it makes their Efforts and struggles even more meaningful for me. They put up a fight and were outnumbered against trained Soldiers and a shrewd man like Andrew and still made perfect use of their available resources and their own intellect in the heat of battle.

My previous grief with Lucas sudden mobility disappeared as the first thing we got in this Chapter was him having troubles keeping up with Yuugo and even Andrew noting that he has troubles with his leg,it showed me that the Author still factored in their conditions, skills and talents for this struggle and managed to produce such an exciting clash between Good and Evil. I do feel bad for the Kids as they most likely lost 2 of their most reliable supporters and friends in this Race against Time and the Ratri's. I'm pretty sure they're dead, but for some reason i doubt that Andrew is dead as well.

I expect the Kids to hear/notice the sudden blast from the shelter and realize that they just lost Yuugo and Lucas for good, express their gratitude towards them and move on with their Plan of meeting the Leader of the Demons and make a new Promise. I also hope/expect a switch of scene to Peter Ratri who could notice that his Soldiers died in pursue of the Children and express his anger about that,i'd like for us to see Norman after all this time as well.

The Promised Neverland Chapter 109 Review by Elusia

Overview:

Last chapter ended with an unexpected end in a fight between Lucas and Yuugo versus Andrew by an explosion from combustive gas. While the fight was going on, the remaining kids escaped, and went to an underground cave that the Grace Field kids passed and explored through. The cave from then on would be their shelter hiding from the Demons and the Ratri Clan, and they would proceed with the initiation of going to the entrance of the Seven Walls on the next day.

While the kids are asleep, Emma contemplates on recent happenings, from the deaths of some kids and the fate of Lucas and Yuugo. Overwhelmed with negative thoughts that are going on in her head, Yuugo suddenly showed up besides her, well and safe. Emma asked about Lucas’ safety, he replied in a kind manner, and asked about herself and everyone else’s. While she, and most of the kids are safe, one kid was injured while others died. Engulfed yet again in misery, Yuugo reassures her that it is not her fault and tells her that despite unforeseen outcomes, it’s better to make the best of it, and whatever happens, good or bad, the kids should keep moving forward. Worried, she immediately asks why come out with such statement, only to realize that It’s just her imagination.

Meanwhile, a flashback ensues as Yuugo walks away from Goldy Pond, pondering over the loss of his friends and a slow burn to his insanity. Years have passed, yet he’s still as lonely. He said it himself, he wanted to live in the back of his mind, but couldn’t and is on the brink of suicide, up until the arrival of Emma and the other kids. He was grateful for them, was able to meet Lucas, took down Goldy Pond, and had an opportunity to finally be free. In his last moments, he wanted to live to experience the rest of his lifetime, and see others grow as well. He regretted not training enough, but was satisfied enough in saving the kids. The explosion happens while Emma stood and watched in horror.

Yuugo finally woke up with Lucas, his wounds and injuries gone, and sees his old friends. For the first time, Yuugo and Lucas found their peace with their friends in the afterlife.

Thoughts:

I really like the chapter. But, I was quite skeptical about the chapter that whether or not Yuugo or Lucas survived in the explosion at first. All the build up to their characters, especially Yuugo, since the manga focuses on him, until this point of the story. Well, looking at the account that his death was eventually going to happen, it still left a hard and a powerful impact on the reader.

He wasn’t an ordinary or forgotten character in the face of many individuals in the manga, he was an important figure in both shaping the plot and developing other characters. He and Lucas are outstanding characters, and while their deaths are tragic, I hope that the characters would be able to move on and keep going in their plans to go the human world, as they have always wanted.

Emma was also great in this chapter, showing more to her character and see her perspective. It shows how much burden she always has on her shoulders, but needs to know that it is never her fault that bad things happened and also has to keep on moving in spite of the outcome. The development that’s going on with this character is amazing.

Overall, I give this chapter a solid 9/10. It was excellent in bringing a wonderful conclusion wrapped in tragedy.

Yakusoku no Neverland/The Promised Neverland Chapter 110 Review by Seraph

Overview

The Chapter starts with a terrified Emma,Gillian and Nigel looking into the direction where the smoke rises from and come to the conclusion that it must be from the shelter's location and that something must've happened to Yuugo and Lucas. What will Emma and Co. do next? Are Yuugo and Lucas really dead? Who will keep the group together and who might lose their cool here and now? So many questions and only one way to find out, let's break down this Chapter until we've got all our answers shall we?

At the end of the Day neither Yuugo nor Lucas had returned,as all signs point to them having most likely died in the Explosion the Kids express sorrow and regret at their Friends possible demise. Gillian wants to help Yuugo and Lucas, she doesn't want to think that they met their end in the shelter and claims that they could make use of the darkness and get close to the Shelter to look for them. As she finishes a frustrated Ray tells her that it's useless,as there could still be Enemies in the Shelters vicinity that could continue the hunt for the Children. He finishes by saying that Yuugo and Lucas sacrifice will be in vain if they allow themselves to get caught now.

Gillian replies to him by claiming that the Enemy would already be after them if Yuugo and Lucas had failed in taking them down, she continues that they might be stuck under debris and can't get out. Ray counters that they both could be dead as well and that the Enemy is actually looking for them at this moment,if they lose their new hiding spot then the deaths of their Friends will have been in vain. As Ray realizes he might've gone too far with that Oliver intervenes and tells them both to stop their argument. Sandy tries to calm the situation down by saying that they can't say anything for certain at the moment,Gillian knows they can't leave their hideout and Ray wants to look for his friends as well. With the situation at hand it can't be helped that everybody feels scared and frustrated.

Emma and Gilda take care of the wounded Cristy, while doing so Emma starts recalling what Yuugo from her hallucination said to her.
She starts wondering about what she can do to help and protect everybody, she too wants to look for Yuugo and Lucas but she also understands their situation.
Going to the Seven Walls appears too risky for her as well, the Ratri Clan will keep chasing them and if they're attacked right now they'll most likely die so the best course of action right now is for her to make sure everyone stays in good spirits and healthy.
She calls everyone for Dinner as Adam,Pepe and Don carry the food to them,Emma concludes her train of thought by reminding herself of her resolve to protect everyone just like Yuugo and Lucas protected them.

After Dinner,Emma is approached by a seemingly troubled Oliver who hands her a note from Lucas that he handed him before they made their escape from the shelter. Oliver reveals to a surprised Emma that Lucas received a call from one of their Supporters right before the attack happened,Oliver recounts what exactly happened:
When Lucas picked the phone up the first thing he heard was a loud noise, quickly after a tape started playing with a Voice Record of William Minerva aka James Ratri. James claims that he wants to start a revolt,a revolt to reach the Human World and to end the Neverland and to forge a new promise. He tells all listeners to leave their plantations and come to a certain Place where he'll be waiting for everyone ready to take their fate into their own hands.
A set of Numbers got mentioned after the tape was over,Lucas wrote them all onto his note and they're most likely coordinates.

Both Emma and Oliver wonder how much they can trust this recording as well as the Person behind the call since the attitude and words of this recording don't exactly match with the one from the Minerva Recording they heard at Goldy Pond. Emma claims that it could be a different Person but whoever it is might not necessarily be an Enemy to which Oliver replies that it could also be a trap set beforehand by the Enemy. Emma wonders who isn't an Enemy of them, has the means to contact them and would claim to be William Minerva.
Oliver mentions that no matter who or what it is,their current location puts them at the same disadvantage as the Shelter did before and if they want to have a shot of reaching their goal they need to team up with whoever spoke to Lucas. He wants to send a small group to check who their Ally is and if they can trust him/her to which Emma agrees.

Oliver reveals that Lucas only wanted him to show the Note in case they wouldn't be back after a day,the former knew that he couldn't stop the latter and that they were planning to die for them and that Lucas told him to protect everybody.
Oliver says that they need to protect their friends no matter the cost for both Yuugo and Lucas,as he finishes a group of 5 Children makes their way towards an entrance determined to search for Yuugo and Lucas despite the risks connected to that course of action.
As they run of a severely wounded Andrew appears from behind a tree while looking very grim and says that he finally found his targets...

Chapter Rating
I'd give this Chapter a 7 out of 10.

Before giving my rating I factored in what this chapter delivered to me as a Reader and what it contributes to the story, Character Interactions as well as Characterization.

Personal Thought's

This Chapter was alright, nothing out of anybody's expectations i think. The Kids reflected and expressed their feelings over their Friends possible demise and also expressed their wish to help them or learn if they really met their end at the shelter.
However i did not expect for Lucas to actually have made contact with any Allies before the attack, with all the time it took them to contact the shelter this seems so...unexpected and planned at the same time. I liked Olivers take that it could be a Trap, what i did not like is that he was basically willing to send a small group to meet with said "Ally" to make contact without any proper Information on them. They could walk straight into their deaths, even though to us readers it may seem obvious that the Caller is an Ally it shouldn't look that way to them. Emma's collecting herself this chapter was nice too, really hoping for her to stay on that road and become more calm and rational. Andrew will most likely start an assault on the Kids next Chapter, but we'll see. Looking forward to it for sure.

The Promised Neverland Chapter 111 Review by Emperor Spriggan
Apologies for the late review, I was shackled by the reigns of life up till this moment. Now, down to business.
This week's chapter cover displays the kids sleeping in their new camp, with a few of them awake to monitor danger. Calm before the storm? Let's read on and see.

Oliver and Emma are discussing the note that Lucas left behind, and Oliver thanks Emma. He then tells her that he was planning on telling the rest of the group about the note on the following day. At that moment, Gilda appears and tells Emma that Alicia and Dominic went missing. Theo adds on that their things are missing, including their guns. The two kids in question had gone out to look for Lucas and Yuugo at the shelter, a realization that Gilian came too in shock. All around her, the other kids seem to have the same reaction. Ray immediately asks the kids to split up and search for Alicia and Dominic. At this point, all the kids move out into the forest.

Once in the forest, they hear gunshots. Panic spreads among the group, and they all rush towards where they heard the sound of the gunshots. At this point, they run into Dominic. He is standing by himself in the middle of the forest, with no weapons on him. Alicia is nowhere to be seen. There is a look of terror on his face, and when two of the kids call out to him, he immediately tells them to run. One of the kids who called out to him immediately gets shot in the head, dying immediately.

Dominic gets shot in the leg as he tries escaping, and he cries in agony. Andrew appears at this point, with a classic Negan-esque appearance. In his arms, he holds Alicia, who is terrified out of her mind. Andrew's face is bloodied up in a horrible manner. His right eye ball has popped out of his face, and the right side of his face has been burned horribly. It's a wonder how he hasn't passed out from all the pain. Goes to show how loyal he is to the Ratri cause, and he intends on carrying out his mission at all costs. That, or he's a lunatic who's clearly lost his mind. Or both.

Emma and the other kids are shocked to see him alive, something that confirms their worst fears. Emma immediately realizes that Andrew being there means that Lucas and Yuugo are probably dead. The mad man points his gun at Alicia, and orders all the kids to get on their knees. Again, similar to what Negan did in his first appearance in the Walking Dead. Though in this case, Andrew seems intent on killing all of them. Not making a single example out of one.

All the kids present sink to their knees, with their arms raised above their heads. There was something they had up their sleeve though. Ray looks at something beside him, where Zack and Oliver are crouched behind a tree. Andrew hasn't noticed them yet, so the key to saving Alicia would mean blindsiding Andrew in a fast attack and disarming him before he can shoot Alicia. At this point, Andrew is shouting to himself about how he has to exterminate all the pests.

Suddenly, without warning, Andrew mockingly calls them clever, before shooting at the position where Zack and Oliver were. He seems to have noticed their presence. The older man then states about how they always use clever tricks and they should just stop since they were just meat for the demons. Raising his foot, he steps on Dominic who's just next to the ground beneath him. The younger kid cries out in agony, and at this point Emma can't take it anymore. She rushes for the gun just ahead of her, and Ray plus the other kids also do the same. Suddenly it turns into a showdown, with Andrew and 4 of the kids pointing guns at each other.

Andrew mocks Emma, saying she can't pull the trigger anyway. She is shocked about how he knows her name, and Andrew tells her that Phil told him all about her. Clearly meant as a ruse to shake her up emotionally. It works on Don though, who asks what he did to Phil. The older man shoots at Don's arm (?), before calling the kids stupid due to how idealistic and naive they are about living together in peace.

There's a short flashback about how the group of kids that had left in the previous chapter to go scout out for Lucas and Yuugo ran into Andrew. Which would explain the current circumstances with how only Alicia and Dominic were left alive. Andrew then tells Emma that the three kids who were with Alicia and Dominic are dead. There's another flashback about how he brutally murdered the three kids, and this is probably the most disturbing panel of the chapter. The kids were unable to shoot at him, so he took the chance and instead turned the tables on them despite being outnumbered.

He doesn't stop there, continuing to mock about how the kids probably thought in their final moments about how Andrew was a human so they couldn't shoot at him. Next, he talks about Lucas and Yuugo, confirming that the two adults were indeed dead. This seems to stun all the kids there, who are too shell shocked to say anything. Surprisingly, he compliments the duo, admitting that they were good. Though, their stupidity at the end was what ultimately cost them their lives. Andrew laughs menacingly, stating that he was still alive and the two were dead. Which meant that their efforts all proved for naught.

Emma raises her gun at him again, and he mimics what he told her earlier about her being unable to pull the trigger.

The chapter finalizes with the sound of a gun shot. From who's gun it is, we have no idea.

Personal thoughts: This was a pretty good chapter. The ultimate reunion with the devil was expected, and it was executed brilliantly. Everything about the art this chapter was done excellently. From the kids's dead bodies, to their looks of horror, and even to Andrew's mangled face. I have to admit, it is pretty hard to like him as an antagonist. He just seems cut out of a different cloth from the other human antagonists we had seen before. The gun shot sound at the end, I think at this point it is obvious that it is Emma who shot it. Then again, seeing that Andrew was able to survive from a point blank explosion, I'm not sure a gun shot would be enough to down him.

Overall chapter ranking: 8.5/10

The Promised Neverland Chapter 112 Review by Elusia

Overview:

The chapter begins in the middle of a dreadful situation as Andrew maniacally screams at his top of his lungs and the kids’ expressions in distressed and afraid. Suddenly, two bullets come out of nowhere and shot straight through his hand and shoulder. Oliver shot the disjointed man, and grasping this opportunity, Emma and the other kids rush in to rescue the injured children. Andrew was shocked, noticing the new wounds on him and seeing the kid from a distance. Oliver, who was experienced in cloaking his presence, mentally prepares again for the shot, but the man had other plans.

The kids managed to rescue one heavily injured child, Alicia, but Andrew was not backing down. With another scream, he dashed as he plans to trample Dominic to death. Ray hastily raises his weapon aiming at him, and with a fragment memory of Yuugo appearing, he is about to shoot. But the unthinkable happened that neither the kids nor Andrew expected. A giant, wild demon with sharp fangs appeared behind Andrew, and after Emma successfully saves Dominic, the demon chomped most of Andrew’s body. Shocked by the horrifying view, the kids flee the scene while the demon eats the remains of a psychotic man.

Examining the recent occurrences in the temporary shelter, the victims of Andrew’s killing spree were counted, including Yuugo and Lucas, of which Oliver accounted their heroic deeds and all were in complete silence. Gillian took in every memory she had with them and realizing they are no longer in the world, she broke down and started crying. The kids joined her, weeping for their close friends.

Concurrently, outside of the shelter, Ray inspected the area, spotted the owl and shoots it with his bow and arrow. Upon first look, the kids see it as an ordinary animal, but Ray shows them that the Owl is actually a camera. In the events that happened, from Andrew being aware of the place they had escaped to, the owl was suspicious since it was always following them close by. The conclusion was clear: The place is no longer safe and they need to go and find a new hideout. The children’s minds are weary from the recent events, but Emma finds a way to cheer them up: before the attack, Lucas received a phone call. Some believe it to be from Minerva, while others believe that it came from an active supporter. The kids grew some doubt on the matter, but Emma assures them that they still need to fight and will do it as long as there is hope.

Meanwhile, in a mysterious broadcasting area, a man hopes for the message having been received at the shelter. Another man, calling the caller James ensures him of it and tells him to start.

Thoughts:

This chapter was good from beginning to end for me. From the inevitable outcome of Andrew’s situation up until the cliffhanger which makes the readers want to anticipate the next one.

A lot of people were banking on Andrew’s death to be by the hand of the kids, but having him killed by a demon is very abrupt and makes sense in context. This is a rather satisfying, yet horrifying, conclusion to his demise, but I would understand if people have a different opinion about it and that is completely fine.

The moment when the kids mourned for Yuugo and Lucas’ deaths were touching and heartbreaking to see. This, too, was inevitable, and I am hoping that these kids will still remember them as good role models in life, and develop more as great characters.

The man at the end is obviously the man they were looking for throughout the entire journey, Minerva himself, having a similar body structure and sending a message that was reminiscent to the online game. But how he is still alive and well is up to the readers to figure out. For me, he was like Lucas, prior to the previous events, he was hiding in the shadows before lunging in. Until then, I’m hoping that the next chapters will be just as good.

Overall, I give this chapter a solid 8/10.

Yakusoku no Neverland/The Promised Neverland Chapter 113 Review by Seraph
Chapter Title: The King of Paradise

Overview

The Chapter starts with a really well drawn Color Page, showing us the most prominent Kids from Grace Field:

From the left: Nat,Gilda,Don,Norman,Emma,Ray,Phil,Anna and Naila.
I liked that Norman,Phil and Naila were included as well and even more so because they are shown in their usual Grace Field attire which seems to be a reminder that their Fate is still unknown to us at the current Point of the story whereas the other Kids around Emma have grown and visibly matured since their Time at Grace Field House.

Let's shift our attention onto the actual Chapter now though, the previous Chapter ended with Emma and Co. making up their minds to go and see James Ratri aka Mr.Minerva with the Coordinates given to Lucas right before the Shelter got attacked by Andrew and his Soldiers.
It's October 2047,a Mass Production Plantation somewhere in the middle of nowhere,an Alarm was set off by 4 People attacking the Plantation. A Woman walking down the Hallway starts singing a Song referencing a famous japanese Sweet,a man walking besides her voices his curiousity about her Song and behaviour to which the Woman merrily replies that it's a Song that you can always sing when exterminating Demons.

The 4 Attackers are shown together walking down the hallway, beneath their feet lie several lifeless corpses of Demons. The Woman, holding a broken demon mask in her hand, asks her fellow invaders if it's alright if she eats some of the defeated Demons which one of her companions shrugs off by telling her to do what she wants as she wouldn't listen to anybody anyway resulting in her explaining the anger she harbors towards the Demons. Her Companions voice their agreement and ponder what the best word to express their anger about the current Era could be,one of the Attackers starts saying multiple words in relation to anger. As he finishes the group questions what those Words even mean, right as they enter a new Room.

The Group enters a hall filled with Children connected to a certain machinery keeping them alive and providing them with nutrients,in the middle of the hall stands James Ratri observing the imprisoned Children. As the group approaches him James asks for the Status of the Security to which one of his subordinates replies that they've taken care of any Defense Lines the Farm had right when they entered. The Attackers comment on the condition and environment the Kids of this Farm have to live in,they'd never think to encounter an awful sight such as this when they looked at the building from the outside. James calls out to a subordinate named Zazie,a man wearing a bag over his head with eyeholes in it and who is equipped with 2 Katana steps forward to free one of the Children from its shackles.

James calls out to the Child but doesn't get any sort of a proper reply, the Child is unable to properly speak and starts crying as James asks it to leave with him. Seeing the Child's reaction James kneels down and gives it a hug, expressing his sorrow for the Children's Situation,as he gets up one of his subordinates asks him if they'll take any of the Children with them which James negates by saying that they'll most likely die if they remove them from the machines. James silently in his mind, asks the Children to forgive him as he tells his subordinate that the least they can do for them is to free them from their shackles. As James reaches for a Switch responsible for the Halls Power he prays that if the Children are ever reborn that they hopefully lead their Lives in Freedom and Peace as Humans are meant to.

As the Group gets ready to leave James gives the order to burn down the Farm, there are no Exceptions being made as all the Farms have to be destroyed. He repeats his words from the recording that Lucas heard on the Phone: Destroy the Farms, free the "Cattle" and end the Neverland for good.
James returns to what seems to be his base of operations, standing on a Balcony he looks down to a giant hall filled with many Children cheerfully screaming his Name. As they do he takes off his Cape and promises them that he will build them a Paradise.

The Scene switches back to Emma and Co.,Emma reads the Numbers written down by Lucas out loud for everyone to hear,as she finishes Ray mentions that those Numbers seem familiar to him to which Emma agrees since it is the Code based on "Mr. Minerva's" Fantasy Book. Emma starts looking up the Numbers and their references in the book,as she finishes her task she concludes that the words conveyed to Lucas through the Phone are: Go to the Jaw of the Lion!

As some of the Kids wonder about the meaning of the Message one of the smaller Kids mentions that they found the mentioned Location on the Map while researching the Golden Water and the Temples before,it's located within a Wasteland in the West and it should take them about 10 Days on foot to reach it. After everybody agrees to leave the Kids make a Memorial for their fallen Comrades,Yuugo and Lucas as well as their other friends. Emma promises them that they'll change the World so their sacrifices won't have been in vain, the Chapter ends with Emma telling her Friends to head out for the Jaw of the Lion to find James Ratri.

Chapter Rating
I'd give this Chapter an 8 out of 10.

Before giving my rating I factored in what this chapter delivered to me as a Reader and what it contributes to the story, Character Interactions as well as Characterization.

Personal Thought's
This Chapter was pretty interesting,we got to see what James has been up to while trying to look for Escapees and Kids from other Plantations and it seems that his subordinates are all really skilled and proficient with their Weapons/Techniques as they took down any Demons in their way and got away with no harm caused to them. That did impress me,seeing that there are Humans standing up to the Demons in this current Age apart from Emma and Co.
It was really sad seeing how the Kids in the Mass Production Farms are treated and prepared for their Role as Demon Food,James hugging that Child got to me. He knew he couldn't save them and legitimately felt concerned and sorry about it,freeing them from their shackles was the farthest he could've gone to at least let them experience a little Freedom before they burned down with the Plantation. I wonder what exactly this Plan of building a Paradise is supposed to be actually,i thought they wanted to go to the Human World together? Oh well we'll see. Emma and Co.'s farewell to their fallen Comrades was nice to see as well definitely gives off this "We left all the sadness behind now we'll go on another Adventure for everybody's sake!"-Vibe for me which is a good thing. I guess we'll either get a short Timeskip to see the Kids arrive at the Jaw of the Lion or we could finally get a switch of scene to Norman of course, that'd be nice too. I'm looking forward to it!

Yakusoku no Neverland/The Promised Neverland - Chapter 114 Review by Seraph

Chapter Title: One thing at a Time

The previous Chapter ended with Emma,Ray and Co. bidding farewell to their fallen Comrades and deciding to meet Mr.Minerva at the Lion's Jaw,led by the Coordinates written down by Lucas. This Chapter picks up right there, the group decides on which route they should travel towards the Lion's Jaw and thinks of taking the same route they used to reach Cuvitidala but will head towards west at some point. Ray informs the group that their Journey will probably take about 10 Days.

We do a short skip ahead in Time to their 3rd Day of travelling, the entire group seems to experience exhaustion from their travels on foot the entire time.
Don and Gilda silently express concern over their condition and pace at which they're travelling,it is to be expected since they're not a group of 5 or 6 anymore but 55 so their pace is naturally slower than before. As many of the smaller Kids haven't been travelling much so far their stamina is naturally lower and the size of the group makes it hard to hunt for everybody to get their fair share as well. They're also suffering from the Stress and Fear of their opponents that are not just Demons anymore but also Humans.

The Kids get alarmed by the faintest noises and are also keeping their eyes open for any of the Owl-Cam's scattered by Peter Ratri, some of the Kids are too tired to walk and have to be carried by some of the Teens in their group so they won't have to rest or leave someone behind.
Nigel and Violet tried gathering some Food for the group but only returned with a few mushrooms and berries,as they express frustration over it Emma tries cheering the group up by volunteering to gather some more Food and as she is about to head out she is asked by some of the smaller Kids to come along with her.

Don and Emma while gathering some Mushrooms wonder about which are edible and which aren't,some of the Kids reassure Don that while some may be poisonous there is a trick to make them edible by taking out the poison with a certain herb found in the forest. Visibly shocked by the Kids experience and knowledge Emma and Don are told to look for food in various places rather than one spot together to make sure they gather plenty,Gilda questions Yvette about her next Move as she is seen kneeling down inspecting the ground. She replies that she is looking for footprints. Suddenly a loud noise cries out and the smaller Kids alarm Don and Emma to follow them as there might be Monkeys nearby. Yuugo taught them that Monkey's and Human have similar tastes and preferences for food so where Monkey's are Food can only be close by.

The Group reaches the source of the noise and is actually met by a group of monkeys, currently busy eating some fruits,as they see the Kids they get ready to leave but before they do they leave behind a few fruits for them. After a short time their bowls are filled with several kinds of fruits and mushrooms,Emma,Don and Gilda express shock at the amount gathered and even more at the skill and knowledge of their younger companions that plan to make a Soup with their gathered ingredients. One of the Kids jokingly says that gathering food should be left to the young ones as they seem to be more efficient and knowledgeable at it due to their 2 years at the shelter with Yuugo and Lucas.

A short Flashback occurs where we see the Kids reflect on their time together with Yuugo and Lucas, teaching them the basics about survival in the Wild.
As the flashback concludes the children around Emma reassure her that they can handle this Journey and that she should rely more on her friends and take a rest here and now as well. Emma silently acknowledging the Children's growth in her mind concludes that this Journey can only be a successful one if they all work together. They proceeded with that pace for the next days,we make a short skip ahead in time again and are now at the 8th Day of travelling.
Ray says that they might not make it within 10 Days from the looks of it,Emma agrees with him.

Emma starts telling Ray that she has been worrying the entire time,be it about the wounded Chris and Dominic or just the dangers they might face on this Journey. She continues by saying that she felt terribly frustrated over losing their Supporters, the Shelter and their comrades to Andrew,Phil whose fate is still unknown. The more she thought about it the more anxious she became but she realizes that the Children taught her something really valuable, that being that no matter how tough things are now more than ever do they need to take things slowly. One thing at a time.
Suddenly a loud roar surprises the Kids. Ray,Emma and Don head into the direction of the sound and are convinced that there are Demons ahead.

Their guess turns out to be true as they find 4 huge Low Rank Demons attacking 2 Children defending themselves with Spears and wearing medieval-like clothing. Ray is visibly shocked to meet Humans in the middle of the Demon World.

Personal Thoughts
This Chapter was pretty good,it proved that the side characters developed and experienced growth on their own while we were following Emma and Co. on their Journeys. It's always good to know that the side characters haven't been forgotten entirely and not everything depends on the Main Members of the Cast. Emma reflecting on their losses, their fallen comrades and Phil was a nice moment since i had thought that after Andrew revealed his "interview" with him and nobody reacted to it the whole time that he was forgotten but he wasn't. She seemed really rational, caring and reasonable in that Moment and that is definitely praise worthy aspects/characteristics for a Main Character. Emma has been getting better and better,i'm satisfied with her developments and i feel like she is close to Ray and Norman for me lately even. Definitely looking forward to how she continues to grow,as for my expectations for the next Chapter:
I expect Emma and Co. to help those new Kids out,i feel like they could either be a very clever trap of Peter or are actually People living under the extreme conditions of fighting demons day in and day out. Their Clothing implies that they're either Orphan's that lived in the woods for a longer time and got used to their environment or they're actually Humans living in the Demon World since Ancient Times. I'd like the Trap-Theory to come true though. We'll see where this goes. Until next time everybody!

I'd rate this Chapter a 9 out of 10.

The Promised Neverland Chapter 115 Review by Emperor Spriggan
This week's chapter starts with the confrontation between Emma's group and the new kids they met last chapter. Ray is wondering who they are, but Emma immediately beckons to the others that they have to save them. The strange kids try to fight the oversized demons, but to no avail. Suddenly the demons all go down via arrows between their heads, and the kids are left surprised.

Ray appears behind one of them, warning him not to move. He then enquires who the kid is and what he was doing there. He does a quick assessment of the area, realizing that there was no one else around. The kids were all alone, which meant it wasn't a trap from the Ratri Clan. Suddenly, the kid who Ray had his gun pointed to turns around and grovels on the ground at Ray's feet. He thanks him continously for saving them. At first, it does seem like a horrible act. But the kid admits how the demons ate their guns and hiding clothes, and he thought they were goners. If this is an act, I have to admit it is a pretty damn good one. For now though, the kids seem clean.

The kid who was thanking Ray suddenly turns his attention to Emma, grabbing her as he continues his exaggerated appreciation. At this point, the stranger kids seem to realize their saviors are humans. It's a bit of a comical moment. Emma chooses this moment to ask who the kids are, and what they were doing there. The kid who has a mask on his face says his name is Jin, and the one who was thanking them earlier is named Hayato. Jin states that they are on a mission, and can't really say much about it. Hayato notices the tattoo on Emma's neck, and shouts as if realizing something. He realizes that Emma and the other kids there are the Grace Field escapees.

Suddenly, the two kids confess that they were looking for Emma and the others on order of Minerva. The news catches Emma by surprise. We switch sceneries, and all the kids have moved to a safer and more quiet place. Hayato and Jinn's wounds have been taken care of, something that leaves them in awe of Emma and her group. The two kids proceed to thank Emma and her company again, something that leaves Anna at a loss. Emma then switches topics, asking them about Minerva's actions of freeing cattle children and taking them somewhere safe. Hayato and Jinn both confirm this, before admitting how amazing Minerva is. They reveal how in just half a year he's already crushed numerous farms and brought together hundreds of children.

At this point, Hayato reveals a tattoo on his upper chest. It's the same tattoo that Adam had, something that the Goldy Pond kids quickly realize. As far as we know, Adam got his tattoo from the same place we saw Norman earlier in the story. Which would mean Hayato and Jinn are both from there? It is a possibility to explore. Jinn tells the kids that Minerva sent them a message, which Oliver confirms that they got. Minerva was aware the shelter would be attacked, so he sent Hayato and Jinn to offer a helping hand. An odd thing to say after seeing how helpless the two were against the demons from earlier. Jinn offers to lead all the kids there to where their hideout was.

He reassures them by telling them that there was food, medical equipment and a chance for Emma and her group to take care of their wounded. Gilda asks how secure the hideout is, and Jinn reassures her there have been no attacks so far. Maybe a sign that once Emma and the rest get there, the place will experience it's first attack? We'll see. Hayato states that as long as they have Minerva, nothing can hurt them. I find the idolization of Minerva by these kids to be something worrying. What are the odds that he doesn't see them as anything other than pawns, or a means to an end to achieve his goals? Ironically, they are similar to how Emma and the rest of her friends used to idolize Minerva at the beginning of the story.

Emma is heavily relieved about the news regarding Minerva, glad that he's alive. They still had allies after all. Ray asks Jin how far the hideout is. One of the cattle kids says it's near the neck of the unicorn, but Hayato corrects him and states it's actually near the Jaw of the Lion. Jin states it actually isn't as close as Ray was insinuating. The answer makes Ray realize they were actually being honest. It was a test he was putting them through, and they got the location of the hideout right. He apologizes for doubting them, and says they would be glad to have Hayato and Jinn as guides. Anna asks whether that was alright, and Hayato reassures her that there would be no problems. This time, in gratitude, the Goldy Pond kids hug the two.

Jin starts to explain that to get to the hideout, they will need three days. This isn't new information to Emma and her friends though. Ray asks whether Hayato and Jinn can handle guns, and they affirm to this. Emma turns her attention to Chris, in an attempt to reassure him, but they notice his condition has worsened. Musica's medicine isn't working, and he needs emergency treatment. Otherwise, he won't make it to morning. The trip would take three days, so they can't bank on that. Emma despairs, but at that point Hayato informs her about a plantation nearby that they can infiltrate to acquire medicine.

Personal opinion: Something about this whole situation doesn't feel right. At least, I don't see the sense in sending two green horns on what was practically a suicide mission in order to liason with Emma and her group. Assuming Emma and her group didn't have the luck to meet them when they did, they would have just ended up dying a meaningless death. Then what? Minerva would send more and more kids to their death like that?I think the idea that Hayato and Jinn have of Minerva is warped, something that Emma and the others should confirm upon meeting him. Aside from that though, all aboard on the hype train. Infiltration arcs are always incredible, so the next mini arc should be something of promise. Chances of meeting Isabella in that plantation are actually high, this is probably the best time to reintroduce her into the story.

Chapter rating: 7.5/10.

Yakusoku no Neverland/The Promised Neverland - Chapter 116 Review by Seraph

Chapter Title: Infiltrating the Cage

Last time we met Jin and Hayato,2 rather mysterious boys on a Mission,a Mission to find and lead the Grace Field Escapees to their Master and Savior James Ratri aka William Minerva. As the Kids were happy to finally find and meet some allies their happiness soon changes into despair as their good friend Chris Condition takes a turn for the worse and they have to act quick otherwise he won't even make it to Minerva alive. Hayato suggests to invade a Low Class Plantation and steal Medicine and Medical Equipment from it. Is it a Trap?! Or is it just kindness?! Well,i don't know yet but we're about to find out as we break down this Chapter so come along...

Emma expresses surprise and shock at Hayato's idea, the latter starts explaining his plan to the group and informs them that the Plantation they want to infiltrate is about 5 Kilometres to the west from their current location. He goes on to reveal that they've infiltrated it before to steal various supplies from them,he notes that there was several kinds of medicine and probably what Chris needs to survive as well. As he finishes the group expresses surprise and fear of the bravery it takes to go through with a plan like that,Oliver and Ray reply that it is a logical measure from Minerva as he cannot easily produce supplies for hundreds of people. Some of the Kids also voice doubts and fear as they are still planning to invade a Plantation,Hayato claims that they can be back before sunset if they go right now.

After a brief moment of silence Emma raises her voice and asks Hayato to lead the way as she is going to infiltrate the plantation with him,she goes on to mention that a small group is all they need as they don't go to fight but to steal medicine for their friends. Hayato supports that statement. Emma tells Jin to stay with the group in case they won't return before Nightfall to take the group to Minerva's place, before they can set out Emma wonders if they should take Zack along as they need someone with knowledge of Medicine with them. As Zack wants to agree to her invitation, suddenly Anna interrupts them asking to come along instead of Zack as he has the Most Experience,Skill and Battle Power to handle the Demons.

As the group expresses surprise and worry about her wish,Zack reveals that Anna knows more about Medicine than anybody else does and that even Lucas was surprised at her progress and intellect. Sandy confirms this by saying that Anna is a fast learner and has a good memory,as he and Zack finish their statements Oliver notes that if they are worried about Anna's safety they should take Ray along as well as he is not only skilled but also smart.
As they make their decision the group bids Chris and the others goodbye as they make for the plantation, they arrive at the Plantation and Hayato gives them a final Head's up. They should avoid any Cameras they spot and possibly not engage any of the Demons residing within it,there are a few but fighting raises unwanted attention.

Entering a secret door leading into the sewers below the Plantation Hayato leads the group into the Plantation,Anna slows the group down as they crawl up a pipe. Before they enter the Plantation Hayato informs them that there is a Camera on the right next to the entrance and that the Medicine Room is at the end of the Corridor they're about to enter,as everybody nods they climb down. 2 Demons are seen sitting in a Monitor Room, observing the Corridors, noticing that nothing happens all the time they're on duty the Demons wonder if it is a good thing or a bad thing. They continue conversating recent increase in thefts of Plantations and briefly mention James previous attack on another Plantation as well, their Leaders decided to increase their Security and that is why they have to work more.

Right as they finish Anna is spotted by a patrolling Demon, reacting with nothing but shock Anna is pushed towards Emma by Ray who proceeds to immediatly kill the Demon. Unfortunately Ray did so in front of a Camera and the Demons spotted him, they activate the Alarm,Ray starts running into the opposite direction of the Medicine Room and while he does 3 more Demons head out to find him. Hayato, although visibly scared, decides to aid Ray as he doesnt know his way around the Plantation and they need to return safely together. He tells Emma and Anna to get the Medicine and escape through the same route they came from before running off towards Ray. Admitting his own Weakness and Lack in Skill Hayato makes his resolve to return and thank Ray properly for saving him. Emma and Anna enter the Medicine Room and decide to find the item they need while Ray and Hayato buy them the necessary time.

Personal Thoughts:
This Chapter was pretty good,i honestly liked that instead of Zack and Sandy they took Anna along since it is a good way to give another side character some focus and spotlight again. Not gonna lie i was even a bit hyped about her impressive Medicine Knowledge,i'm curious as to what Ray and Hayato are going to do next now that they're separated actually. I don't know why but i fear that Hayato might die or get hurt in the process of saving Ray,this whole inner monologue of accepting his weakness and flaws feels like a deathflag to me. Hope he doesn't get caught while leading the way and Ray and Co. have to return without him,Jin would be shocked...I expect the next Chapter to focus on Emma and Anna finding the Medicine, and here and there some bits of Ray and Hayato's struggle.

I'd rate this Chapter a 7 out of 10,Until next time everybody!

The Promised Neverland Chapter 117 Review
The chapter starts with Emma and Anna getting to the shelves with all the medicine. Emma is overwhelmed by the sheer quantity of medicine there, but Anna wastes no time in starting to look for medicine. She quickly manages to locate one type of the medicine they need. It isn't enough though, and they need more time. Ray and Hayato were busy distracting the demons so they needed to hurry up.

We switch scenes back to Ray. He is under siege by the demons who ran into them last chapter. Ray fires a few shots at them, before Hayato calls out to him from the front. The dark haired kid is shocked at Hayato's presence there, and he asks him why he is there. Hayato informs him that he is going to offer him information about the area. Ray tells him he is supposed to be ensuring Anna and Emma are safe, to which the head band kid states that leading the demons around as long as possible is another way of ensuring the girls are safe. He says this while shivering, something that Ray notices and points out. Nevertheless, he is impressed by Hayato's bravado to show up where he was.

Ray fires off at one of the demons, killing it. He tells Hayato to take care of the escape path while he would deal with the demons. As the two continue running, Ray sees something along the walls that surprises him. It's identity is unknown to us.

On the other end, Emma and Anna succeed in getting all the medicine they require. Anna is worried about Ray and Hayato, but Emma reassures her that they will be okay. The two girls are heading outside via one of the pipes in the building, Emma removes the lid above her, only to meet several demons staring at her. She immediately warns Anna below her and tries to retreat back into the plantation. The demons are too fast for her though.

While in their grasp, the demons wonder whether that is a human. One of the demons says that there is another one, judging from the scream that Anna made earlier after Emma was captured. They plan on reporting to headquarters, but as Emma squirms and tries releasing herself they notice the brand on her neck. This excites them since they realize her identity. She's from Grace Field which automatically means she is premium quality meat. Anna is in visible despair as the demons are about to devour Emma.

Suddenly, a masked person appears, and most of the demons are cut down. The masked person is using a sword to down the demons, a stark contrast from how Emma and the rest of the cast have been using guns so far. More importantly however, Emma is saved. She wonders who the masked person is. Surprisingly, the masked person brings a sword to her throat and Hayato calls out to him. Ray and Anna also appear, and the four are safely out of the plantation. Anna embraces Emma and cries in relief at the thought of her friend being safe.

Emma explains that the masked person is the one who saved her from the demons. Ray then asks if he's with Minerva. Hayato explains that the masked person is Zazie, and he serves under Minerva directly. Since Hayato and Jin took so long to return, he was probably sent out to get them back. That doesn't clear the doubts from Emma's mind. Still thinking back to how Zazie saved her, she genuinely wonders how he did that. The chapter ends with the gang deciding to head back to where Chris and the other kids were.

Personal opinion: The chapter was alright. Zazie's introduction is clearly meant to be the highlight, but at this point the manga is just introducing way too many characters for its own good. I assume Zazie might probably be some demon-human hybrid, which would explain the lack of the ability to talk fluently. Personally, I think the best part of the chapter was the part Emma was about to be eaten. You knew she wasn't going to die, but you could genuinely feel the tension in that scene. Also, I do wonder what Ray saw. But I guess that's for another time.

Chapter rating: 6.5/10.

The Promised Neverland Chapter 118 Review by Elusia

Overview:

The chapter begins with Zazie showing himself before the kids. Some of them are terrified by his presence, but they are not too imitated to approach him a little. The other kids check up on Chris, whose health is getting better thanks to the medicine they got back from the nearby plantation. Emma was relieved, Gilda thanked Anna for her efforts, and then scolded Emma that she needed to rest for a while. Emma told everyone else to spend the night, sleep and continue on in the morning.

Two days later, they stumble across a strange part of the forest where the trees are unbelievably big. It is a huge sign that Minerva’s hiding place is near, so they keep going. Ray is a bit skeptical; deep in his mind, he thinks that while the woods are safe from any demon villages, it could contain wild demons, wondering of how such a hiding place exist to shelter a lot of people was built there in the first place. The hike suddenly stops, as Hayato went ahead of the group, and all of them note how fast he is, up to Ray thinking that he might not even be human. Then, after a little while, they finally got to see the hideout, described as an entire town built inside a tree. Jin asserted them that the hidden area was once a village for an ancient demon clan and that other demons don’t know about that place, so they don’t come and investigate. The injured kids were sent to the infirmary while the others checked the whole place.

The kids are amazed by the sight of the place, not only containing food, water, shelter and other things that are needed, but also by the number of other kids who are very happy and well. The kids are welcoming towards them, showing hospitality and friendliness, which as seen as unsettling in Ray’s skeptic eyes. Nonetheless, the others embrace the warmth of all the kindhearted kids. Hayato then calls Emma as he said that Minerva wants to see her. She happily nods and proceeds to go, with several thoughts coming into her mind. The person, who she and her several friends have searched for far too long, is definitely going to reveal himself in front of her. She feels a great gratitude towards him.

Hayato and Emma enter his room, waiting for a quick response. The man answers, letting Emma go inside, and her expression changes. The man addresses her, leaving Emma more shocked. Tears run through her face as she speaks the name she hasn’t uttered in a long time.

Norman.

Thoughts:

This chapter was good, no denying how good the buildup was until the end. It was surprising how it turned out, but in general, it was satisfactory.

I’m quite pleased about what they did regarding Anna last two chapters ago and hope we get more of her, even if it was little this time. All the others were in their usual antics, but it was nice to see them get their peace. Ray, however, has his doubts thrown in, about the place and the people living in it, and I understand why. It might be seen as a red flag to the kids, but we’ll see more about this in the upcoming chapters.

The “Norman is Minerva” reveal is the best thing about this chapter, but like Ray, I have some doubts about it. There are some things that don’t add up to why Norman is the way he is now. For me, he could be just another person who, despite eerily looking like Norman, presents himself as Minerva, or perhaps the theory of cloning humans like animals in real life is possible. Either way, I doubt it is the same Norman we know from the first arc and from the Lambda plantation.

Overall, I give this chapter an 8/10.

Yakusoku no Neverland/The Promised Neverland - Chapter 119 Review by Seraph

Chapter Title: A Fortuitous Meeting

Previously on The Promised Neverland we had Emma and her friends arriving at the famous William Minerva also known as James Ratri's base of Operations,a former Demon village that has been turned into a Paradise for Children from everywhere. As they arrived Emma was asked by Hayato to follow him to Minerva's Office as the man himself wanted to meet the leader of the newcomers that arrived in his Base,as Hayato left the room Emma was left in nothing but shock and tears because the Person standing in front of her looked awfully familiar to her...she recognized William Minerva to be noone other than Norman, her friend that had been taken away from them at Grace Field and whose fate was unknown to us for a while.

Emma can't stop wondering how Norman could be here of all places in the world, right in front of her. She calls out Norman's name and is met by a smile and a nod as well as a relieved yet tearful mentioning of her own Name. Overcome by happiness Emma runs towards Norman, she even dropped the Pen and as she runs towards him she keeps thinking to herself how often she dreamt of meeting Norman alive again and how often she was about to collapse from despair of his unknown fate. She reminds herself that she never gave up hope, and as she closes in on him she recalls all the memories from Grace Field with him.

As they connect they tightly embrace one another,Norman tells Emma how much he wished for them to meet again and how glad he is that she is doing fine to which Emma can only reply that she can't believe how surreal it feels for them to meet after all this time. She recalls Norman leaving Grace Field and continously asks him if he really is Norman while touching his face. Norman tells her that he was sent to a different Farm than Grace Field was and become a different kind of "cattle". Emma is left surprised and wondering about this statement,Norman touches her left cheek and as he does he notices that Emma's ear is missing to which she tells him that she left it at Grace Field but they managed to escape and brought Ray and the others along.

Shortly after Norman is met by all of Emma's friends, both new found and old ones, their expressions upon seeing him are as one would expect a mix of surprise, suspecting and friendly smiles. As Emma introduces her friends Norman acknowledges that their group has undergone quite the change in faces and numbers, some of the Kids can't believe that their old Friend posed as William Minerva and reached out to them to meet and help them while the smaller kids run towards Norman while full of tears to hug him. Nigel and Gillian can't help but feel happy for their Grace Field comrades,Gillian calls out how wonderful this must be for everyone, especially Emma and Ray. However,Ray doesn't react like the others,as Gillian called his name he remained silent and moved towards Norman who greets him with a smile and calls him by his name.

Ray responds by giving Norman a whole hearted slap to the face,as he falls down he calls his friend terrible and that instead of greeting him first he was met with a slap. As he looks up to him Norman asks Ray if he got to see great things, the latter breaks out in tears and thanks Norman. He grabs both Emma and Norman and hugs them, thanking both for being there and continues by telling Norman to not ever think of dying. Norman eases his worries and tells him that he won't. The Kids fill Norman in on Phil's situation as well as their adventures at Goldy Pond,Norman praises them for making it this far and how fortunate it is for them to have met the Grand Valley Children as well. He apologizes for not having been quick enough to find their Shelters location and the timing of Andrew's attack on them, the Kids tell him that it's not his fault but the Ratri-Clan's.

Gelda confronts Norman about his own whereabouts and movements,he replies that he was sent to the Lambda Plantation 7214 which is a Plantation that conducts experiments on Cattle Children such as him and Adam,he reveals his Lambda Mark on his Chest to prove his statement as well. Ray questions him how he managed to break free to which his friend replies that he broke out by gathering comrades inside the plantation and making contact with a Minerva Supporter as well and ultimately destroyed the Lambda Plantation. The Supporters name is "Smee" and he is the man that gave a Pen to Sister Krone in the past, though unfortunately he's been murdered by Peter Ratri and his men to carry out their "Purge" to handle all the Minerva Supporters within their Clan but before he died he gave Norman all the information and contacts he had so that he could build up a shelter for everyone in this ancient demon Village.

Don is completely stunned by awe of his Friend,he silently gives Norman credit for his achievements despite the path having been full of rocks for him to climb over. Emma asks Norman if he was the one to contact the shelter which he confirms as well by saying that giving them a message in the name of Minerva would definitely reach them as well as keep his connections and ambitions strong and supported by his Comrades. Norman plans to go to war with the Demons and threaten the Ratri-Clan with his organisation. James Ratri's name had many benefits for him,as his old friends hear this Ray mentions that he has many things to ask Norman but before all that he just wants to know 1 single thing. What are Norman's true intentions?

As Ray wants to finish his question he is cut off by Norman himself, who tells him that he'll answer his question once he discussed what he had been meaning to discuss when they arrived at his base. He asks Emma and Co. if they know why the Demons eat humans,or rather why they have to,if they know what the Demons are. The Chapter ends with Norman seemingly starting to tell a story to his friends.

Personal Thoughts

The Chapter was pretty good, this sudden change in design for Norman was surprising but i guess it had to be done to make it more believable that he is actually the guy they knew from the past. And i honestly have to agree with Don,what Norman accomplished in this short time is seriously impressive for a Kid of his age and background. I didn't think that it would be Norman that would profit from the Minerva Supporters help first but it makes sense thinking about how he was so close to Peter and given the common trope of Supporter/spies always being close to the High Ranked Members of an organisation. Though i have a hard time buying into all this,Norman caused a lot more troubles for Peter's plans than anyone else did and yet Peter sees more need to chase and kill Emma and her friends that destroyed the Hunting Ground and escaped Grace Field? Seems suspect to me,Norman thinking of War instead of saving everyone is sort of weird as well for me at the moment but i guess until we've heard what he has to say we won't know for sure. I'll give him a chance, hope he can clear my suspicions and conspiracy theories about him now.

I'd rate this Chapter a fair 7.5 out of 10,till next time everybody!

The Promised Neverland Chapter 120 Review - Formless Monsters

Chapter Summary

Chapter 120 leads the reader with an in-depth look into the Demon physiology and history. Norman explains that the demons were originally bacterial lifeforms that naturally multiplied and copied themselves, as bacteria naturally does. The biological evolution separates from the norm when it is revealed that these bacteria began evolving by combining its DNA with that of other species in a process called 'Horizontal Gene Propagation'. Demons are not born through natural reproduction. In fact, the Demons as we know them attain their forms by consuming other species where its form and other biological traits are absorbed along with the body. Thanks to this information, the kids now know the truth behind the farms, and the promise. Norman then goes on to explain the plight of Demon society in terms of the procurement of High Quality human produce. He states that the demons became greedy with the form and intelligence acquired from consuming human beings. Demons will eventually degrade into more primeval and primitive beings if not enough High Quality humans are consumed in 6 months. This weakness of the demonic biology, Norman says, is the reason behind the existence of the experimental farm Lambda where he was imprisoned and subsequently escaped from. Norman states that his plan and philosophy is to bring about the "end of the Neverland" (a world where children can't become adults) by destroying the farms and annihilating the intelligent demon population as a result. The chapter ends with Norman stating these intentions, and Emma looking torn between happy and deeply troubled...
My Thoughts

The Lore:
Chapter 120 has massive implications for the overall world building and lore, obviously. The whole mystery behind the demon world is dispelled in many aspects. We know how they originated, how they evolved and why they eat humans. We still don't know how Demons reproduce, or how the humanoid demons are so strong even though according to Norman's explanation they should have traits comparable to that which they consume. The heart of the matter to me however is that despite the massive lore info dump, none of this information really relates to what Emma has seen. Cuvitidala. That strange demon who appeared in her visions. The necklace. The pieces of this puzzle are nearly all in place, but we just don't know how they fit together yet.
Art Direction:
I've personally always loved the appearance of the demons in this series. Their masks that hid the true grotesque nature of their forms, in an attempt to mimic human behaviours of arrogance and to put oneself above their own peers. Chapter 120 was a pleasure to look at thanks to the presence of so many images of the demons. They are like a kind of virus, powerful enough to take down the mightiest of nature's creations and steal away their grace and beauty for themselves. Posuka really showed her stuff on the last panel where Emma and co. reacts to Norman's declaration of war against the demons. It stuns me to see an artist bring a still image to life in the way that she does. Don't know what I mean? Just take a look at Emma's expression specifically. In the first panel she looks surprised. But next she quickly transitions to an almost terrified expression. Not obviously. It's subtle. The stress lines under her eyes, the single sweat droplet. The open gaping mouth. Emma is so deeply disturbed at what Norman has become. She knows that he is not the same boy who left the orphanage that day.
The Implications:
Norman wants to take the war path. Does he even have any idea about the Promise and the potential for a peaceful solution? He is a changed person, so Emma and her naivety might not warm his heart as it once did before. While he says that he wants to save everyone, so much blood will be spilled in the process. Sad as it may sound, I don't think Emma, Ray and Norman will be able to see this endgame out together. I may well be wrong and Shirai will turn what we know (and what we think we know) on its head again where the whole story ends happily ever after. But this is a darker tale than that, so probably not. Emma and Ray will continue to work towards reforging the Promise, and Norman will destroy the plantations. It may come down to who can get to the endgame first. I believe that Norman will return to Emma's side properly in the end, but first they will need to clash in order for both their character arcs to move forward.
What happens next?
I predict that chapter 121 will show how Emma will face the hardest decision she's ever had to make: whether or not to follow Norman. We will be shown the darker aspects of Norman's psyche. Something that we always suspected was there in the first place. I think that Ray won't play a very major part in the outcome of this clash of ideologies. While he most likely holds a form of brotherly love for Norman, he's also the most rational of the trio, and always has been. He will likely attempt to make Norman see the futility of war, but hearing Emma disagree may hit Norman harder than anything Ray will ever say. Or... 121 might take another route entirely and have the whole chapter dedicated to Emma and Ray mulling over Norman's transformation among themselves. To me, either scenario is likely.
