But I am a fan of OP, I don't discuss it in the forums but I enjoy reading it but Naruto is still no.1 for me, that's not to say I'm not a fan.

Sorry I guess I was thinking of someone else.

And as far as my preference in OP vs Naruto...

It's hard to say. Sometimes I feel more attached to Naruto, and feel that it has deeper and darker themes than many of the other series in Jump, but when I think of OP, I just see it as being nearly flawless as a story and simple on the surface. The truth is, OP themes are more mature then many think, and much more deliberate.

Taking the subjectivity out of it, I think OP is still a better series though.

one piece was, and gained more just as much notoriety (as does naruto on tv, as we have a MORE CENSORED VERSION for some reason than what the us has... ah the kids suffer eh TDA)

and sales wise i think one piece doesn't perform as well as naruto, but then naruto is actually promoted as a manga over here, as is death note (both are the big sellers at current). it's a crying shame but basically that's the crux of it, if it's not promoted it'll never reach the top 10 of the monthly sales.

Also (not mod speaking here), this fan comparing stuff becomes a little annoying. I don't like bananas but could die for strawberries. Yet I don't think that bananas suck just because I personally hate their taste. And I also don't think that strawberries rule the world just because I want it to be.

and randal, cxc scans have dibs on the translation, and said they'd have chapter 1 out this thursday, but have been busy so it's probably just delayed again

Yeah I didn't mean to turn it into a Versus thread. But I feel it's still relevant since it relates to series popularity, and that's what the ToC represents.

But yeah, better stick to ToC stuff more specifically.

I'm curious how Beelzebub will do in it's first ToC. The last manga that had a wide instant support among western fans was cut off fast (DArts ). So it's always interesting to compare MH with the Japanese statistics.

But he didn't touched Meister and that died even faster. So he seems not to be the only factor when a manga "pulls a koen"

Though, it's kinda understandable with Meister. I just hope Komi comes back with something new soon. But no news about him so far, hm?

meister may be my fault for actually getting excited for the first time in years about a new manga (which makes me even more disconcerted about beelzebub, the series that's pulled me straight into Editing full on)

i think the mroe excited we get, the less likely it is that the series'll succeed

I haven't seen it anywhere yet. At least we know Bokke won't be near the bottom, at least for this week. And I won't have to worry about Mago for at least one more week.

Indeed. Always take these scenarios in account when having a bad ToC position. I agree the lineup is messy and jojoing. One time it's TLR, neuro and sket dance. The other time it's psyren, mago and es21... Let's see if one of the two new series will become a cushion like asklepios and meister or not. If so, please don't make beelzebub one...

mx0 is a different case: its ratings were decent and sellings were good. It was rumoured he stopped it himself. Never say never for a new continuation (though that's prolly a dream. Or did jump make that exception before?)
