For one, I wouldn't call Bleach's 'story' all that bad currently... I'd rather say it's far more enjoyable in volume-batches. Usually it's Kubo's pacing rather than the story that makes people 'hate' Bleach.

I think this is true about Bleach. When you're reading it week to week, it seems kind of boring, but every time I go back and read an already completed arc it seems a lot better. Anyways, apparently I'm one of the few people who still enjoys Bleach in this thread (dare I say I enjoy it as much as I do Naruto these days, maybe not just yet).

Anyways, apparently Mago not just getting color pages for its anniversary, but also it will be 31 pages long. This is good news, right? It's not some sort of last ditch effort to gain popularity is it? Anyways, it's the first series I've ever read week to week from the moment it started that's lasted this long, so I guess that's good news.

Just because a series is in the bottom five (as long as it isn't a complete bomb) doesn't mean it will be a victim so quickly. The whole magazine is always just a big competition and as long as you have to last a while, in many cases your popularity will come alongside it. Mago, while pretty much in the doldrums in ranks recently, was able to make a year even with all the problems it's had (as had Psyren), which means they still have potential to keep going...particularly if other series bomb (which sadly no one wants) or series seem to collapse and go away. (ES21, Neuro, To-Love)

It was in the top five last week and gets extra pages this week! Sounds like good news to me. It had only spent about eight weeks out of a year in the bottom five, I doubt it's in any trouble right now.

Since Bleach's last color pages were just for the zanpakutou poll and didn't involve any actual content I'll let it slide this once. Given where the last chapter left off major content will be coming over the next two chapters so it won't be wasted. For fans it should be the perfect place to get color. At least it's not getting the cover. It's mind numbingly disappointing to see Reborn getting any color at all, ever. At least this year Jump has been making some effort to give color to wider variety of series. Naruto color would be nice, but Kishi never actually does color pages for content anymore. He and Oda just do splashes. It's not like the current action would be better or worse for it. If I had to make a guess that's why Kubo gets more color then those two.

Psyren deserves better right now. It's consistantly been one of the best series this winter. IMO the plot has really come into it's own since the end of the Dholaki arc.

Wtf Psyren is so low AND Bleach gets more color?!

If only Inumaru would have been lower to give it more protection. Hell, even Eyeshield since its run won't be too much longer.

I really like this weeks choices for color: a new hit (Bakuman), a title on the rise (Mago), and a good title that has yet to be properly respected (Bokke). Since only one, Bokke, has been in the bottom five the last two issues nothing is unnaturally low.

hell it did! whether or not it's content related, it was a colour page and a spread. that was far more than it deserved. for a popularity thing i suppose it's fine, but it's still taking from the lower series who with a bit of a push would do so much better


and this week's colours are indeed deserving (well bokke-san ISN'T, but that'd contradict my 'colours for promotion' ideology, so in that sense it most certainly is)
