if you like her, just do it and court her, do it from the heart, but as i said to you before, you're new to the dating scene, you should expect a big blow if it ever comes. but i support you in this, even though it's way off your comfort zone. you two are not in close-friend terms yet, you hardly know anything about her, i'll say this: you judge someone basing from what they say to you, not from what others say, regardless if it's true or not. also she has a BF, you should respect that, if not for the girl, then for the guy

I'm not a homophobe, but her losing because she expressed a valid opinion is stupid. It's not like she said, "Gays are a menace to society." If I were her, I'd word my answer differently, but she still didn't deserve that.

Perez Hilton is stupid.

It's the Miss USA pageant, where Ms. California was BOOED because she expressed her personal opinion and not the opinion of gays of California.

i did not click on your spoiler.

okay maybe i did. but i gave up half-way and cheated instead. :fan

I personally think Perez Hilton's reaction was over the top. However, Miss California's answer was just equally self-centered. if marriage were based on procreation alone, then hell yeah it should be "opposite marriage" only as well. but the thing is, marriage is supposedly also based on love (according to the same camp that are anti-gay) so why stop two people from loving each other like that and uniting, to be known to society that they are committed to each other?

isn't that the purpose of marriages anyway? aside from the union and all that emo shit, it's about the legalities- announcing and declaring to the rest of the people that you have this certain status, so other people ought not to consider you eligible anymore, thus saving the time for everybody else, etc. etc. etc?

ah fuck it. i hate being anal about political views and shit. excuse the pun, if there ever was a pun. -_-;

re: marriage

personally, let's just give the word and its definition to the religious zealots and eradicate it from secular use and elevate something like "domestic partnerships/civil unions" or some new legal jargon to encompass both same and opposite sex "onjugality" under our laws which have the same legal status as "marriage between a man and woman". so people of whatever sexual preference or orientations in all permutations get "conjugal partnerships' under the state and only those of opposite sex get married in church. simple separation of the church and state. period.

the only problem for the church is if its between a gay guy and a lesbian gal....it's still a marriage between a "woman and a man" respectively right? :haha

That is how I personally think it should be done, too. I don't want my marriage given a different definition, but I want people to be able to choose as they should in a democracy. So give it a different name and I'll be just fine.

And bb, what she believes in really doesn't matter. Why should she be disqualified from winning a contest just because her opinion isn't the same as the ironically-named "liberal" media's? That was quite close-minded of the judges.

well mj. gathering from two videos I watched, she wasn't disqualified. she just lost. period. and the reason is because she sucked at the answer. just like the rest of the losers in a beauty pageant. they lose because they don't impress the judges with their answer.

if she really was disqualified, then I'm lost. :oh

PS. yonie, thank you for introducing me to Higashi no Eden. I lurrrrve it.

HA! KALA MO HA

@miss usa: yeah that's what i felt too, i support the third sex. she can be entitled to her opinion, perez can be entitled to his/her opinion too. in the end, the one who decides, decides. i've accepted that fact in my interviews in the past :D

@bb: cool i knew you'd like it. there's something about it that hooks me up, i thought about it's uniqueness, and i guess it's an espionage story, with a shoujo overlay, dont you think? i love both characters :thumbs

ei bb most likely i'll be working in cebu in may, i finally decided to search jobs and cebu is the best place, and i'm referred by a lot of acquaintances, i'm thinking about it though. how's the expenses, uh, i need an apartment etc, i need to ask everyone that's staying there

Well, yeah she was technically not disqualified, but her beliefs are the reason why she lost, according to Perez Hilton (who was one of the judges).

Her losing because of her beliefs is not fair. At least he could've given a BS PC response like her answer wasn't coherent enough, or whatnot. But since he said that's the reason, I call him stupid.

i dunno how the scoring is with beauty pageants but does Perez have the sole power over that decision? other judges had input too, i guess.

anyway, wtf yonie! in a month's time? wow. you got some work to do man. scouting alone takes a loooong time.

IT's kinda iffy, though, isn't it? I mean, with Intel just closing down and all.

On the other hand, it is in Cebu, after all, so who knows?

that's why i've been asking everyone there, seems everyone's affected. there had been layoffs and changes in those firms, but not really noticeable. anyway, it's weird, normally a foreign firm outsourcing in here would be bad for their country's economy, but i don't know if they're doing just fine or not willing to give up on the capitalism stronghold
