Why? I don't understand people who want exclusivity for their console of choice.

Because to some making video games is and art and not to earn loads of money a passion if u will. And if u really appreciate them for that u will spend the extra bucks to buy w.e system the game will be exclusive to. Anyways the X-box is made by *french accent* stupid americans

I own both consoles so my oppinion on the matter probably isn't too valid, since exclusivity doesn't really affect my gaming experience at all.

The reason I don't understand exclusivity is because it prevents the games being enjoyed by a wider audience, if I produced a masterpiece I'd want to make sure that it was accesable to as many people as possible.

one reasoning to make it exclusive to one system is that all the focus on making the game is put into making it work well on that system, rather than making it just work on multiple platforms. See almost any first party title from nintendo, Gears of war (2), MGS4, etc...

Well theres different types of audience. Just general w.e audience and then theres the right audience. The w.e audience wont bother spending more money just to play that game while the right audience will. Its like when u start a band, u think of the music u want to play or w.e, but it will suck if it doesnt attract the correct type of people. eg: I play something hardcore epic screamo, lyrics great, guitar playing great, different types of chords on all albums all songs not just 4 same old chords w.e u know. BUt the biggest portion of people I attract are emo gilrs and skinny faggot guys.

Basically hideo is trying to prevent that. He wants the right audience for his game. And if u appreciate hideo u will not hesitate to waste the extra bucks. Exclusive all the way for Hideo projects.

Look... multiplatform gaming... sucks...

You can't create great gaming by adapting a console game to other consoles or to the PC ¬¬... it is stupid... it will never work...

each platform has its features... it is made this way...

but game producers simply create these adapted games that simply suck...¬¬

But the thing is; I really think is just fanboyism ... that some people want a 1 console only game...

That has very little to do with 'appreciating'. The average price for e.g. the PS3 is half of my rent and not just some 'extra bucks'.

It's kinda a little offending to tell people off that they don't appreciate something enough when the actual majority can't afford it. I'm sure, if it weren't for the money, most dedicated gamers would own a full collection of consoles at home. But that's simply not how life is.

Making a game exclusive only shuts out people unnecessary and merely benefits the contracting companies. You can still specialize a game on one console and have it lesser well developed at the others to make it available at the very least. There are always ways open to find a compromise, everything else is pure business thinking and has little to do with making a game perfect.

Well eni 600 dollars for a PS3 is a fair price with what is included. It most certainly has a lot to do with it. Hideo really doesnt do it for the money. By making it exclusive the dude is losing money compared to other developers/producers out there. Gaming is getting expensive with each generation. Ur either the one that bitches about the price, the one who just buys it, or saves up to buy it. Theres no point on complaining on their prices. Besides like I said a person who appreciates Hideos work will not hesitate to buy a ps3 to play his game (and if u know who hideo is in depth, chances are u already had bought a PS3 to wait for a game from him).

I already have watches for formal occasions and girly stuff (gold and silver). I'll be looking for a watch more for everyday use. Maybe something plastic so I won't worry about it in the kitchen. And something I can use when I'm jogging and working out.
