in recent memory, when Minato's pic appeared in the spoilers, yea that was a big wtf moment in a good way, epic stuff.

Yeah, that was nice. Sadly a lot of the people I raw camped with back in the days don't read Naruto anymore (so often) and it seems the new generation isn't as energetic. Or maybe just too many sources besides the big forums. So the agony and reaction wasn't really the same anymore.

No, with 'new generation', I mean the readers who came after the raw camping times. Those are used to punctual releases (boooring!) and simply demand too much.

How come?

The hangout is still bound to the topic of it's section. Being 'general' in this case simply means that it's open for all topic that are allowed to discuss in the general sections (which manga is not).

But if you want to discuss something in more detail, you have to go in the respective topic threads, otherwise we could just merge all threads together in a huge big one and leave it to the members to sort out the mess.

Back then, when Naruto was still interesting and we didn't had a good server, the Naruto chapter would cause us (as well as NF) to go down in the moment when the raw was up regularly. Also widely knows as server down by narutard stampede.

So Naruto chapter 365 made so many people come online? Why that specific chapter? :\
I still don't understand the server down thing etc, and 4,649 people logged on to see Naruto 365? Woah..
Also how come the RAWs don'tcomeup regularly as you say anymore? People quit doing the job?

I don't think it was about _that_ specific chapter. MH grew so much during the past three years that the 'members online' number topped each other frequently but it was still always bound to the WSJ chapters.

But in 2005 and 2006, MH was very Naruto and WSJ centric. The site was created by former NF members after all. In 2007 we strongly promoted the shoujo and seinen sections and most new members were interested in more series variety, so the 'WSJ Raw Day' wouldn't affect the online numbers so much anymore. Thus, no new record since then.

No, it's the other way around. The raws come nearly punctual now and we even know who scans them.

Before, people were hunting for them on Japanese sites/p2p and it was always uncertain when they would pop up with the new chapters. I often spend all night waiting on the raw while fangirling in the threads and cursed myself on the next morning since the raw appeared 5 minutes after I went off, example here: the night and the morning >___>

In short: I like it better as it was before
