(well, we're a bit late into the season though. Nothing much though! ^^

So here it is, the new big seasonal Art Contest.

This post will contain the basic information that regards all the contests. Specific information can be found on each category's threads. Feel free to ask questions!

It's voting time!

How is voting gonna work this time?

Well, thanks to our good friend and tech [user]Osso[/user], now we don't need polls in the threads anymore. =]

Just head to the Photoplog, select a category and take a look at the entries! Under each one, there's a new button - "Vote for this submission".

Pretty obvious and simple, isn't it? ^^

That works for all the categories, except Manga/Comic and Creativity, due to their specific reasons. Please head to their threads to get more info on the submissions and vote!

Re: The Summer Art Contest

The Manga/Comic link leads to the Creativity thread, should lead to http://mangahelpers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=51142
[agrias]Fixed, thank you![/agrias]

Re: The Summer Art Contest

could we enter in multiple categories?

[Agrias]

Re: The Summer Art Contest

Yup, you're more than welcome to join as many categories as you like.

Only restriction is that if you're joining an Advanced coloring category, you can't join Amateur as well.

[ninjapet]

Re: The Summer Art Contest

so the colored art is just fan art stuff?

[Agrias]

Re: The Summer Art Contest

Fanart, original art, anything you did draw yourself (or a friend, if you're participating on a collab.) It's not a fanart only contest.

[ninjapet]

Re: The Summer Art Contest

Neat, I have some fan art that maybe worth entering then ^^

Re: The Summer Art Contest

Cool, I really like this! Definitely going to participate in a few.

[Amzy]

Re: The Summer Art Contest

Sounds fun. I'll definitely join some of these.

[Mugiwara_no_Jack]

Re: The Summer Art Contest

Sounds awesome!
I'll participate in one or two contests ^^

Re: The Summer Art Contest

What is the difference between 'Amateur Coloring' and 'Amateur Coloring Battle'?

[Agrias]

Re: The Summer Art Contest

Amateur Coloring - You can choose any panel you wish to color.
Amateur Coloring Battle - You must color the panel we posted on the thread.

[Sahil]

Re: The Summer Art Contest

i already posted my submission in amateur coloring category.. did that consider it for this contest?

[Agrias]

Re: The Summer Art Contest

No, the submissions were closed when you posted.
You've got to submit now - if they aren't showing on the photoplog right now, they aren't in.

Re: The Summer Art Contest

I posted this in the manga thread, but I don't think many people go there XD ; .

1) Can we do multiple entries into the same category?
2) If we enter the manga contest, will we get penalized for using alternatives to screentones (such as grayscale, or color)?

[rukori]

Re: The Summer Art Contest

Is the girl with the turquoise hair in the banner taken from any particular manga?

[Agrias]

Re: The Summer Art Contest

I posted this in the manga thread, but I don't think many people go there XD ; .

1) Can we do multiple entries into the same category?

Yes, up to 3 - except for the coloring battles.
Be aware that only the submission with the biggest number of votes will be taken into account though on the results though; that means that you can't win in 1st, 2nd and 3rd places at once.

2) If we enter the manga contest, will we get penalized for using alternatives to screentones (such as grayscale, or color)?

Nope, feel free to do it as you want.

Is the girl with the turquoise hair in the banner taken from any particular manga?

It's a fanart of Hatsune Miku, a vocaloid (a computer software that emulates a human voice). ^^

[Amzy]

Re: The Summer Art Contest

I think she's from Vocaloid. I looked it up and it seems like she's like a mascot for some music editing program. It's not a manga.

By the way, is your avatar and signature from Angel Densetsu? XD

edit--
Ah, Agrias beat me to it. =x

Re: The Summer Art Contest

May be I am missing something; but are there any specific themes to those competitions or we can do anything we like for the art contests?

[Agrias]

Re: The Summer Art Contest

It's not themed, feel free to choose anything you like.

This seems to be a common question, i'm gonna add this to all the contest descriptions. Sorry if the name of the contest is misleading ^^
