Re: Weekly Shounen Jump [2009] - Discussion & TOC Talk v.3

As much as I love a Mago anime, especially with it's awesome drama CD cast, I agree with ruggia it's too fast. There will be too much filler. Bakuman live action is pretty much expected, considering Death Note got live action first, then anime. Can anyone translate it? I've had difficulty reading the info.

Is Bakuman's live action movie or drama?

Sket already has enough chapter to make an anime, but isn't Toriko a little too fast? Despite being really popular, it still has only around 60 chapters, there's going to be too much filler.

filler will make it work:blink
but ur rite, an early anime has that kind of problem.

DGM is a special case lol

Just don't end up like D.Gray, the visual is great but the fillers suck so hard. Especially do not end up like Naruto, the fillers suck super hard, the rating took a nosedive.

Well, Hunter x Hunter's animation got aired about 4 months after its 1st year anniversary. Compared to Hunter, Toriko is not that fast. Also, I think Toriko's animation got aired most likely next year, so there going to be more chapters release.

If it's true:

1. Considering it will be close to two years, Toriko getting an anime wouldn't be too unreasonable.
2. Sket anime...if it is true, then at least it's about time.
3. YGO 10th anniversary anime...remember this: this is the 10th anniversary of the NAS version and that's the big hit one. (I guess the '98 Toei anime doesn't exist to any of them, but I'm a bit surprised that they'd give up on 5Ds when I heard they just started another arc)
4. I wouldn't be surprised if Nurai gets an anime in fall, '10, but who knows if it will at this point...besides, it really should get one sooner than Toriko due to having more chapters (and having more by April, '10), but it isn't as massive
5. Bakuman movie...makes sense considering Death Note's progression.

But since confirmation doesn't exist yet...I can't say anything.

Re: Weekly Shounen Jump [2009] - Discussion & TOC Talk v.3

I've always preferred if a series could wait 2-3 years for an anime adaption. I loathe filler so that is probably just my hatred for it. Also that filler is known to kill series at times. I still think of Rurouni Kenshin even if it has been a decade since its adaption.

I know Jump is high on Toriko but waiting another year wouldn't kill it. Although an anime will obviously increase the manga sales even more.

I'll look forward to the Sket anime though.

^Looks like we shared the same hatred for filler. But if there's anything I hate more than filler, it's those 26 episode adaptation. If they ever turned mago or toriko into one of those, they must be fucking insane.

They just said Mago's in consideration so I imagine it wouldn't come for a while, and probably after Sket Dance and Toriko.

Though even if it was sooner than later, I could see it working as a 26 episode thing and possibly getting another season later.

I think they should do what they did with Reborn and D.Gray, began airing it on the same month but different day. Both became success. Albeit, Reborn has less filler than D.Gray

I found something interesting from 2ch.

とらぶるは本当は42outの予定だったが長谷見氏が契約違反したことで40outになった
43で赤星out
I hope this is not true because I thought Akaboshi had a chance to survive.

Re: Weekly Shounen Jump [2009] - Discussion & TOC Talk v.3

For those who want an anime to wait, the problem is just trying to find the right time to strike on making the anime. A lot of times the anime is made 2 years in due to how much material is done by that point and the potential for more with the series still going...plus it's still fresh-ish when done then. A few end up waiting for three (Naruto, Bleach...and if Sket gets one, that will essentially be 3), but for the most part they do it at two (aside from weird cases like HxH or Luckyman)...and a lot of times never really last long enough to go beyond a year anyway. (or, in Bleach's case, was planned to just be throguh SS...but it's runaway success forced them to start stalling due to how fast they ate up material) Not to mention there is the risk that the series could collapse if you wait too long...

Saki Hasemi, the writer of to-love

Most of the manga that wait for two of three years are almost always success. One Piece, Naruto, Bleach, Gintama, Reborn, D.Gray. That's why I think they should wait.
