Feedback Mangahelpers and fake Manga Uploads...

In recent weeks (as well as months), there have been a tsunami of fake Manga chapter uploads relating to the more popular mangas like Naruto, Bleach and One Piece. My question is this: is there a way to stop this from happening?

Can there be a process where only known uploaders be allowed to upload a manga to this site?

I think I am not the only one who is getting a little frustrated at the fact that there seems to be more and more manga chapters being fake that I would hope that someone take the initiative to put a stop to this sort of thing.

Definetly highly annoying! It's not like I don't know that the last 20-30 msgs about a new One Piece raw, that can't come out till next week are fake, but to actually have them in my PM folder... Can't you add a feature or code, that stops people from posting them till a possibly true release day. Or just a "next week thursday after last chapter"? There just have to be a way to stop them, as it only started in the last weeks.

Even Spoiler discussions are'nt opened till further evidence that spoilers are true."I hope" It would be easy to give two to three to an unknown number *g* of people the order to just check those uploads, before letting them show up in the public. Well maybe it will just go down with the time, hope won't harm me. hehe

We are looking into this.
Maybe some additional releases checks for new members, allowing only old timers to post without delay or something else but we are going to take mesures to reduce fake raws.

That is a good thing. I wouldn't say it is only because it would be annoying that these things happen, I would say that it would be to prevent people from getting viruses on their computer.

I would hope that the users that do this sort of thing are banned from the site, since it could be a possible security breach.

Most of the fakes are uploaded by fake accounts (:\)
We do ban them but they can still create new accounts...

the thing is, whenever i click one of these new pm's, i get a 404, so how comes, if the releases are deleted so promptly, why isn't there a query that deletes the pm's as well?

The PM have nothing to relate them to releases. Once it's sent its sent.
That said I hadn't thought about that. Deleting the pms seems a good idea too. I'll think about how to relate PMs to releases in the future.

Well we get PM's of releases, which is basically just a query, so I don't see why a similar query can't be written to delete said PM's. Thanks for taking my thoughts into consideration.

To create a PM you save a text, the user that receives the PM and the user that sends a PM. You only have those 3 things.
In reality it's a bit more complicated because it stores the time it was created but let me simplify
So you create the text, send the PM to the user.
From that point you can't tell which PM is from which release.

It would be enough to just add a new number field, like "release", leaving it blank for normal PMs and putting the release number in it when it's created by the releases system. (You wouldn't even have to change the PM function in the forum if that field defaults to 0). Parting from that, it'd be easy to delete those PMs when the releases get deleted.

i couldn't find a search button to search threads for this so i'll just make a new thread on it.

the latest update on 'ef - a fairy tale of the two' raw chapter 52 is fake. that's not any manga i know. it'll be a long time before that chapter is actually released.

oh, btw later chapters of the manga 'freezing' raws are uploaded page by page as chapter by chapter. ty
