its because the creator of fairy tail was an assistant of oda so he have a similar way of drawing XD

Wow! looks nice but to me her skin color looks a little pale need more pink color for Erza cus she is a red head. LOL!

As for the OP art similarity...well at first it does but once you get used to it, it's really different.

Skin shading looks great. I think you should have made more shadows and point of light on the cloth tho.
