I want to ask you guys that does Jump Bang actually helped to increase the sales for Jump magazine and volume sells? If it did, does anyone know how much did it help?

I wasn't around back then but I think I found an answer in the Shaman King thread.

It was cancelled? meaning.. they decided to stop the story and ended it abruptly??

well, jump is powered by the popularity polls and shaman king had been falling in the polls (there were probably other signs) so they told Takei that they were ending it at chapter 285. The story was getting good before that too. He had to make up some ending and have that be the unofficial official ending (i say unofficial because it says Owari (end) with a tangerine next to it which in japanese means incomplete)

It was later serialized in SQ What Heiji said and finished at chapter 300.

Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa?
No, makes sense. Bakuman is not likely to be so long that it would need to have such a huge buffer and allow for filler. Plus with SO MUCH talking in each chapter it's not likely they'll even need to do 2 chapters an episode... So it's fine they're doing an anime with only 65 chapters. Also this isn't until almost a year from now it would seem...

Bakuman anime already!! I expected Toriko first, but at least we know that's coming. How did Mago drop into the bottom 5. Not happy about that, at least we know it is the same as Bakuman or Beelze falling. Ane and Rilienthal are starting to shape up as the next two out.

Toriko DID get an anime first, but it was an OVA.
Toriko though on the other hand would have the typical pacing and would do 2 or so chapters an episode and need a larger buffer. Bakuman will most likely end around the same length as Death Note, 108 chapters, the manga will probably be over by the time the anime starts.

Oh, and hey, Psyren's not in the bottom 6...

Nurarihyon's ranking is based on chapter 80. I guess Japanese readers didn't like the battle between two onmyoujis.

Also, Ane is now in very dangerous position now, at this rate Ane will be gone on next round of canellation. Also for second one to be out, I think it might be Rilienthal because I think Rilienthal is slightly doing worse than Hokenshitsu.

Hmm a bad week for Mago. It will probably bounce back next week. Sket seems to have slipped back into the bottom while Psyren finally got out.

Medaka once again manages to just barely escape the Bottom 5. Which is good for it if it stays above other series so they can take the bullet instead until it can get some kind of momentum going with its recent arc and volume sales.

Ane Doki continues to occupy last for the 3rd time in 4 weeks. Its volume sales should be interesting as well.

Hokenshitsu continues to bottom dwell as well as Rilienthal. Both are likely to be removed in the near future if they plummet even further. Not that I'm complaining there.

They wasted no time in making Bakuman an anime. That was pretty fast. Makes me wonder if the manga will be close to finishing by the time the anime rolls around.

Mago is supposed to be a color page this week, so maybe it's unranked... But who knows, maybe something changed. That happens occasionally.

With that in mind, the chances that Ane-Doki or Medaka Box will end the following issue is high, as HXH comes back the next week.

And my prediction for next anime after Toriko is... either Psyren or Beelzebub.
Probably Beelzebub... Unless something gets a second anime like DGM or HXH.
Though it's debatable whether Psyren or Kuroko will ever get an anime...

ane seems to have took the spot of Kagijin/Akaboshi, while MB is actually doing better if we compare it to previous ranks.

Well, Bakuman is really cutting it close, it'll be past its second year mark close to Autumn of 2010 (like a month or two after) so I suppose it's appropriate. But they really didn't waste time did they? It seems there will be a slew of new Jump anime in the next year since we have Mago and Bakuman, probably Toriko as well.

I really don't get why the heck Bakuman would get an anime announcement now if it's supposed to be for the fall. The only real excuse I have is it's still sort of riding on the "Ohba and Obata did Death Note" bandwagon and wants to maximize it's potential by hyping it up over the next year or so. I mean it sort of was obvious it was probably going to get one, but I still think the announcement feels...too early.

As for the bottom five...well, it feels refreshing to see Psyren not down there...but something does seem up with the Mago placement. (unless that's a screw-up somehow or another with the CP) And yeah...Ane Doki is toast.
