I don't think so. Unless Oda intends to make the New World just one adventure (which I doubt), One Piece is likely a bit over halfway done. I'd say Grand Line = first half; New World = second half. I might be wrong but One Piece can easily go on for antoher 10 years.

what about Vagabond, when will it end?
If I had to guess, I'd say that most likely Vagabond will end when
Mushashi and Kojiro finally fight. That's the climax of the book its based on, and that's probably the most famous scene from the real Mushashi's life.
It seems like that's what the series has been building up to anyway.

Well, at least One Piece isn't disappointing fans, unlike Naruto. Oda knows how to keep a manga interesting, while Kishimoto only knows how to kill strong guys off in stupid ways.

i know not yet but its done about 70. and will be well over 100 by the time it finishes. i was just commenting on who was he to criticise someone who has been giving out almost a chapter a week for 10 years and hasnt thrown in the towel. that takes determination and effort.

[kaiten]How about 95mil. It will break 100mil sometime next year.[/kaiten]

Yes, but the point is that One Piece has been out way longer than Naruto and it's still pretty darn cool. I mean, you can't say you were happy about the way Kishimoto killed off Itachi, Kisame, and Pain.

Found out something interesting from the Festa info this weekend: apparantly after this arc is over (and we get probably another flashback arc), Bleach has two arcs left. But here's the catch: the first will be a shorter arc (probably akin to the intro arc or the first appearance of the Arrancar)...and the second will most likely be the final arc leading to the final battle, which means it probably will take time. But considering Kubo's pacing, I probably give it somewhere between 3-5 years.

Hurray for stretching! Kishi said some similar things as well. After the current battle in Naruto ends the focus will shift to Kakashi for a year. While he didn't say there is more, I don't expect the final arc to begin until 2011.

At we know Bleach and Naruto won't have terrible rushed endings. I'm expecting something good form both of them since it taking so long.

Both feel stretched already, especially Bleach. It's always a bad sign when an action series starts spamming a super power. Inuyasha went there after the Band of Seven arc, Naruto has too, since the Itachi fight. One Piece is the only one of the big three that shows no sign of aging. Oda said it was about half way done recently and it feels like he could do a 1000 chapter series without any loss of quality.

so Kubo actually have a PLAN for Bleach's future? thats new to me.
i wonder how much more powerups we are going to see. (maybe fusion?)
well I guess it gurantees that we will be seeing Bankais and Hollow modes from every character.

these two kishi and kubo will not finish things so fast, no way, and the above news confirms it, well i hope that their quality will increase to the level it was when they started

Regrettably I doubt it. Bad habits die hard, particularly when the fans and the management don't even care as long as it just keeps making them money. The only bit of good news with Naruto is that at least Kishi is essentially is either in or approaching his final arc...but it's still going to be as streched as heck. On the other hand, considering that the anime of Bleach has announced yet another movie with it's horrid pacing in the manga and over-fast pacing for the anime (while good-paced Jump anime like Gintama end, making it more vulnerable without the media presence of an anime), it just won't go away for a while.

Comedies are easy to keep writing without stretching. Given how episodic Gintama is, even longer arcs tend to last less then a volume, it could last as long as Sorachi wants it to. Not that he will but it could be the next Kochikame, it could just run forever.

serious Gintama arcs>the comedic ones

And I don't think Naruto is stretching along like Bleach, it isn't a chore to read every week and the fights are always interesting. Right now, I'd say Naruto has the most interesting arc because OP is taking its sweet time with the execution arc. I hope Oda kicks up the pace a bit

(thinks the "Otsuu Fan Club"/Tsuusengumi arc is way better than many of the serious arcs, probably the best arc of the '09 year...even more than Jiraia which is "serious")

I really have nothing to complain about with Oda aside getting what he needs to done. My only real complaint this year was that he was going through Impel Down way too fast, but at this point I'm sort of used to his faster pace with the whole Marineford war.

I'd say Naruto was only stretching during part 2 before the Taka arc. It seems to have found a good pace now. Can't say the same for Bleach though. The current arc manages to be longer than the Soul Society arc, yet have less content at the same time.
