Actually, I think Mihawk could have a fruit like that. There's always a zoom on his eye when he battles. He spots something and unmistakeably deals a blow.
And then in East Blue, he managed to follow what's left of Don Krieg's fleet from a pretty huge distance. He must have been after them for days. Maybe his vision allowed him to spot them from a pretty large distance.

Then again, maybe he just has sharp vision to begin with.
I think it's the instinct of a swordsman, but that possible. :tem

being called mihawk has a meaning he must have an ability related to his name but i dont see how it could affect his sworsmanship.

Mihawk epithet is "Hawk Eyes". Mihawk is his name. It's just like "Sengoku the Buddha", Sengoku name is related to Buddha somehow in the mytolhogy, but in One Piece world it's just coinscidence.

And it's obvious related his ability to scope at long range. But I don't think it's a Devil Fruit, it's just a natural ability.

I think than He is own Haki.
I think than He can "feels" the breath of the things, as Zoro did in Alabasta against Mister 1.

Yeah, I don't really believe that he has a devil fruit. I just think that it's possible. He's the only character whose eyes get zoomed like that. He is called Hawkeyes, but still.

Anyway, he's not the only one who can follow Soru speed with his sight. Luffy managed to do it pretty fine. I remember one particular example, against Blueno, when he slammed him through the pillar.

It seems a recurring theme for the top swordsmen to seemingly not use Devil fruits. Rayleigh doesn't seem to use one, Shanks & Zoro definitely don't, neither do Vista or Shiryuu (from what we've seen of them at least). I have always seen swordsmen as characters that live and die by their blade, and their faith in said blades. Kaku has been the only one in canon I can remember that used a fruit and Zoro ended up defeating him (there was of course that Shiki guy, but movie characters should not be considered as canon). Mr.1 is a bit ambiguous, as he himself does not consider himself a swordsman while many others do. I think it'd be pretty cool for the best swordsmen to rely on the will of their sword, obviously developing Haki is a must and I'd imagine is perhaps a logical progression of their skill. Mihawk can probably hit Logias if Vista can, meaning Zoro may awaken the ability also. I think if he sees Luffy hurt a Logia with regular attacks then he'll train to do the same.

Shiki is part of the canon. For more information read One Piece - Strong World.

There isn't any reason why swordsman can't also be devil fruit user. That goes for possible top swordsmen too. We have Law and Hawkins who are both devil fruit users. Kaku as you mentioned, was also a swordsman with devil fruit. Vice admiral Onigumo is a swordsman with a devil fruit. Chaka and Pell are also swordsmen. As for Rayleigh and Shiryuu, we can't be sure whether they have devil fruits or not. I don't think they have, but it doesn't change the fact that we just don't know.

For Roger, Rayleigh and Shiryu... phew, I believed that Whitebeard would just fight with his Bisento (after seeing he opening the skies with it). So it comes up with one of the mighties Devil Fruits. It's not impossible, keep in mind that they have shown almost nothing so far, that was Whitebeard case.

And for Roger, I keep my theory that he could "hear the voice of all things" is because he ate the Hito Hito no Mi :D

Yeah, there isn't any reason, the thing is when you see someone training hard and kicking some a$$es without any kind of superpower, he looks Great and you respect him ... just because he uses his own natural strength to win or sometimes even defeats could look as victory.

i think hearing the "voice of all things" have to do with the way of seeing the world and the details on it, maybe luffy have the same "skill"

Ooooook.

Rayleigh, Shanks, Vista and Shiryuu. Please show me where they DON'T use a devil fruit. I'm gonna go by the same logic you're going by here. You haven't seen a DF so it doesn't exist, I haven't seen a DF so it must exist.

Point is: don't go around crying when Rayleigh and Shanks show off their fruits like people were when Whitebeard showed off his. All the "OMG how lame WB has a DF" complaints died after two chapters of earthquakes.

I highlighted "from what we've seen of them" for obvious reason. We've seen nothing of them. Of the four you mentioned there, we've seen a lot of Shanks, but I've never seen him fight. Of the four, the one who has had the most on screen fight time is Rayleigh, and all I saw were three sword attacks and one haki blast.

I'm still not getting all these attempts at making a "class" in One Piece that should be free of Devil Fruits other than attempting to compare them directly to Zoro. Wouldn't you be happier if everyone in the world had a DF and Zoro didn't? And this belief seems to go hand in hand with old famous guys.

Make a list of new famous guys, and they all (almost) have devil fruits. Why should all the old famous guys have ignored devil fruits?

Well it's more like Jurakyūru "Taka no Me" Mihōku. ;)

I've got an odd idea: He's actually pretty blind like a bat but has a perfect sense of hearing due to a supersonic DF. So he's not actually targeting his enemies by seeing them, but by sending out supersonic waves and locate where they are by the sound reflection.

I know - very odd - but... It might explain why Mihawk has closed his eyes, while hitting Luffy.

That is very interesting but the idea that he is blind or a little blind does not make sense to me : we've seen him using his eyes a lot of times, and he is called Hawk Eyes. He could just have in plus a supersonic DF or a bat zoan as you said.

Bats were said to have superkeen-eyes before people realized that they were actually pretty blind or at least don't need their eyes to locate the surroundings. So, he may not be blind but I don't think he's that keen-eyed as his name implies.

I think it would make more sense if his eyes were closed when he realized where Luffy was and opened when he was talking. Oda did show us that he has actually seen him and he keeps zooming his damn eye all the time. He only closed his eyes once when he was talking. Of course, I could be wrong, or I don't remember, but I think that he wasn't shown with eyes closed when fighting Zoro.
That panel with the closed eyes seemed to me like Oda was trying to show Mihawk's calm and perfect control of his surroundings. There is nothing that he can't hit when it's in his battle range.

Well, almost nothing.:)

As for Shanks, he could easily have a devil fruit. I don't want to hear how he could swim 10 years ago so he doesn't have a devil fruit. Maybe the guy decided that he needs something more to compensate for the loss of his hand. Why would it be cheating?

Oh, and devil fruit doesn't make a swordsman any cheaper. It's all a question whether he would actually use his power when dueling another swordsman. I think any real swordsman wouldn't.
Unless it's a passive ability.:p

Well said Razh; I wouldn't be surprised if we find out Shanks has a df, but I'd like at least him not to be a df user, having become a yonkou through his immense haki and power.
I personally don't think Mihawk is blind, at the very least we know he has amazing vision. Whether or not this is natural or a fruit ability, we'll only find out when he fights a challenging opponent.

I was really waiting for your translation.
And as you say ... it's odd but interesting ... although the idea that he's blind doesn't really make sense to me.
