Well Whitebeard most likely would be able to do something, but the transport between the three marine points of interest was noted as being impossible to travel through unless using a "marine ship". What it is exactly the marine ships do wasn't exactly specified.

The calm belt would not be a concern for Whitebeard or his crew. What are sea kings to a quake?

Also quite possible that Whitebeard only just crossed the redline hours before the attack. For all we know after announcing the execution, he was so far away that he would have only just made it in time, let alone far enough ahead to plan an interception.

I've always loved the look of the Moby Dick. It's ashame we won't be seeing it anymore. Unless, the rest of the WB pirates stay together and rebuild the main flagship once again...

All WB pirates will have a part in the New World arc, Luffy gained big allies in this war.Most likely they will make ships with Moby Dick designs in remebrance of WB.
But what i can't predict is the development in Luffy after this arc, will he remain the funny Captain or get really serious(gonna hate that).

About the Moby Dick, Personally I doubt that there will be a new one. Moby Dick is a part of the "Former Era" WB Pirates will build new Ship, IMO it will be connected to Marco's phoenix ability.

Let Luffy rest for now. He surely will achieve something new along with feelings about Ace's death but it is yet to come. IMO it will come after Short coma. He will be recovering and the WB Pirates will protect him. We may even see Shanks who will visit WB pirates to see what happend to Luffy.

I think that Shanks will gather SH Crew and bring them to Luffy after he learns whole story. In that way we may be able to see how Luffy's crewmates developed themeselves. They will have an occasion to learn what connects Luffy and Shanks which will make them respect Luffy even more.

For me, part of One Piece spirit is that no one is invencible. Once you a sailor, if your ship is destroyed, you are in real trouble. That's how I feel about Shanks in chapter 1.

So, I've been coming on here pretty regularly, but I didn't hear anyone discuss it, so I was just wondering what everyone thought BB was referring to with his "I freed the prisoners... and did one other thing".

Sry if I missed when we were talking about it earlier, but I don't see a discussion of that. I'm guessing something else was in Impel Down that he wanted, but who knows what he did.

Btw, how do you guys think he can survive in the new world? BB has made so many enemies, I can't imagine him or his crew can possibly step outside without causing a huge scene, between himself and all his widely hated crewmembers, he has made enemies of more or less everyone outside the crew.

If I'm gonna be serious, I would say that nobody is strong enough to survive in Calm Belt just like that. I don't think even Moby Dick with full crew could just kill off giant Seakings without end.
And after all, they can attack from under the sea level.

i think maybe BB coulda been reffering to killing whitebeard there.
and when it comes to him surviving in the new world, idk i guess its possible, i mean half of the pirates are gonna fear him because of his crew and the other half wont be powerful enough to take them on.

Brook against the doc lol. Interesting match ups. Will Chopper be able to master/control his monster form? Hard to say.

I'm interested to know how the rest of the SH's will be informed of Luffy's recent adventures. I have a strong feeling that it will be Boa. Maybe, Jinbei too.

@ Wowzers - lol I don't think any okama went missing after Luffy sucked in all that food. I don't think Luffy would enjoy the taste of okama meat!

if boa and jimbei will join possible... what will their position because we know luffy gave positions right

Keeping with the themes it should be - Shiryu vs Zoro (swordsmen), Caterina vs Robin (strongest females), Doc vs Chopper (doctors), BB vs Luffy (captains obviously), Lafitte vs Sanji (feet people), Usopp vs Van Auger (sharp shooters), Franky vs Jesus (big guys lol), Nami vs ?, Brook vs ? (Stronger the horse lol?). That leaves Abalo, Juan, and Basco (one of which will go to Nami and another for Brook if he doesn't fight the horse lol) so I'm guessing Boa and Jinbei will each fight one.

Well Doc Q's "nickname" is Shinigami (Grim Reaper, bringer of death)..
So I think it would fit for him to fight with Brook at some time...

Isn't it like:

Luffy - BB (captains)
Zoro - Shiryuu (swordsmans)
Laffite - Brook ( both are gentlemens xD an they are using weird powers : Brook can put poeple to sleep via music, Laffite can hypnotize them. They, are perfect match imo)
Sanji - Jesus ( pure strenght without weapons)
Van Auger - Usopp (It's obvious)
Mighty Drinker Busco Shot - Nami ( We all know that Nami is smart and can DRINK like noone else)
Catherina Devon - Robin ( Strongest womens, bla bla...)
San Juan Wolf - Franky ( Battle ship against Battle Franky [Franky made himself into Cyborg and one of his battle Ships] )
Doc Q - Chopper ( it's obvious, Doctors )
Abalo - Someone new ( This will be a new and IMO last recruit in SH Crew. It will be someone from "royal family" probably. Fallen King vs Raising King/queen/Empress would match it )

Well there can be also another crewmate that will join. And it will be like :

???? - ???? ( both will join in the middle of NW. Another Fallen Authority vs Another "super star" on his/her Island)

Actually, this [mention of this "one more thing"] doesn't show up in Mangastream's translation, so I took a look at the raw and found no reason for this remark. All Blackbeard says imho is: "Zehahahaha, you could say I was aiming for that, and only that, from the beginning!! Now you catch on."
I also wrote a comment under cnet's translation, so maybe the confusion will be cleared up.

i just watched the latest ep. and i remembered that ace was transported from impol down to marineford by just 5 vc's. whitebeard alone could have annihilated them. was there an actual reason why they didn;t attck them while transporting ace? i can't remember if they said so in the manga.

Probably he just didn't make it on time (instory) - or it would be pretty much boring (Oda's reason). In the manga, there is just Onigumo iirc.

Even if Whitebeard could attack the ships inside the gate of justice (which I doubt), it would be a disadvantage.

The procedure and time to execute Ace was their chance to save him. In fact, there was a hundred times Sengoku could just put a knife in Ace's heart.

Attacking the ship, in the other hand, would led the marines to not follow the rules. Not to say that if the ship is damaged, Ace dies.
