Yoshitoki Ōima - Female mangaka, more shoujo/moe like art style.

I saw one earlier on a NicoNicoDouga walk. I enjoyed staring at some mangaka drawing prweetttyyy pictures. But most importantly, it shows that pretty art doesn't just come from talent, it needs alot of hardwork too. Inking that accurately is really tiring, let's not even talk about how G-pen takes alot of control.

I wonder are there non-photocopy blue in 3mm? I've got some 5mm lead, but it feels kinda thick (but then again I always draw in A5 and mangakas work in B4 to my memories). I just love how EVERY mangaka uses Mono rubber, personally I love them too. Cheap and good.

there are 3mm blue leads LilaChan. I know architecture supply stores have them. Maybe drawing shops too. ^^

^Maybe I should look there, they'll probably priced sky high. I got the exacxt same pack of lead for about 25% of the price in Hong Kong compared to UK. Hopefully I can find 0.3mm blue lead, the only problem with coloured lead is that they're much softer and break much easier. the 0.5mm colour lead of mine breaks as frequently as my 0.3mm normal lead...

I found out something called '理系男子', which seem to translate to 'Science men/boys'. Apparently it's a moe personification of elements...which includes Hydrogen, Helium, Calcium and Silver.

I honestly have thought about whether there's moe personification of elements, considering there's OS (now we have an official Windows 7-tan voiced by mai waifu Mizuki Nana), nations/countries, star sign, train stations, blood type and etc. Somehow it didn't surprised that Japan actually marketed personification of elements, but I was expected female characters instead of bishounens.

I'm pretty much a science student, it makes me facepalm that the people who created these bishounens have absolutely no idea what they're on about. They could have done a little more research right? Hetalia isn't famous just for its moe bishounens, without the research that Himaruya actually done, I doubt it would be this popular. Even Miracle*Train attempted to add some random facts. . They honestly could add a little more science into these elements/science CDs. Come on, just look in a typical science textbook, write a few notes down. Or ask some science teacher to help with the script.

Okay, I do LOVE the seiyuu cast. OnoD as a genki boy is love.

Japan you did it again. What's next? Personification of computer parts? Light bulbs? Bread? Chocolate?

that reminds me of some of the random stuff in fandom_secrets LJ. They have this elements personification (not drawings, just table with some text). If i try to remember what it says: The members of the noble gas are all snobbish rich men, etc... i might fail to remember the correctly, but yeah better that nothing

Just looked at the first pages and it seems to be nice,especially art-wise and i have a total weakness for characters with awesome masks!

I know that this may be a funny place to ask, but does anyone know what happened to mangatraders.com? I know they were having hardware issues a couple weeks ago, but checking now nothing resolves. I appreciated all the effort the administrators put into that site, so just wondering if they had to close down because of the hardware issues.

Any info anyone has would be greatly appreciated!

Honestly, I have no idea what happened to them. I suggest going to Lurk. They're exclusively IRC, not sure if you use that or not. If not we have a great tutorial here. The download commands are all copy and paste, just paste them into chat and the download will start.

I just used mangatraders yesterday to download Soul Eater (if it's down for good, I'm glad I just went ahead and dl'ed it all). Of their five servers, only one of them was still slow. So maybe they are offline trying to get the slow server working properly again. I hope they're not down for good as it was truly a great place to find old scans of series.

Sure OneManga's not the greatest online reader site, but it is the first one that pops up when you search for manga online so its understandable that most people start there.

Mangatraders may have gotten word that they were on the "blacklist" and voluntarily shut down.

Getting manga off IRC is easier than it sounds. Most groups make things nice and easy. Illuminate, for example, posts the triggers on the website; just copy and paste it into the channel and the dl process starts. Lurk does the same with their archive now. I resisted Lurk forever, ask Goody and c_k. When MT went down that was the only place I could get Cross Game.

O well that's lame. I just figured they were the top spot because so many people went there, but that could be why so many people go there
