Football 2010 FIFA World Cup

Not sure who I think will make it..... Argentina won all of its matches but they had an overly easy group and even then the team seemed to not work very well on the defensive at times. It's possibly though, clearly the top teams are not at their top game.

Brazil has been efficient so far. They won their games and are extremely skilled in all areas.

Germany is on a pinch but if they make it past this round I think they will be extremely dangerous.

Italy has been poor so far, but if they make it to the next round they'd be about as dangerous as germany.

Netherland and spain are good teams but for some reason they never seem to do well in the WC. I don't think this year will be the exception.

So basically I'd lean towards argentina, brazil, italy or germany.... This world cup has been weird but I don't think there will be any surprises at the end.

What a WC has been this one so far! Full of surprises!!!
I was sad because it seemed as if the USA team was going to be sent home but then on the last minute, Donovan goes and scores!!!

So far, I’m happy and satisfied with the teams that are advancing to the next stage. ^_^ I hope the rest of the teams I’m rooting for also advance…

England and USA are through with US top of the group, scoring in the last minute.We have to wait til later on to find out who they'll get, it could be anyone from Ghana, Germany,Serbia and even Australia but that's a long shot.

My bets would be Brasil, England or Netherlands, but if i had to pick only one, it'd be Netherlands

For me, England was as bad as France in this cup, they dont deserve advance to the next round..

That was a close one...I would have really hated to have another bad taste in my mouth with the disallowed goal from Dempsey...that was not offsides. Thank goodness.

And I don't feel sorry for Slovenia really...yes they took down Russia and any team that comes out of Europe deserves respect, but the "new kids on the block" shouldn't be spouting off and talking mess about the US and England. Show some respect next time (if there is one).

England weren't as bad as France, don't put us in that category. England have been very poor and disappointing by their standards and needed to up their game a few levels otherwise if they meet a good team they'll lose badly. Even today they weren't that good, just a few moments of great plays.

Not sure to be honest. They both won with a lot of difficulties today so it's hard to tell

Well, to win you've got to beat a strong team sooner or later

But as these two strong teams clash, we've Uruguai, South Korea, Ghana and USA in one side, which means one of them will be in the semi-finals. At least one 'surprise' is granted at least

And btw, Australia x Serbia was an awesome game in the second half

The USA - Algeria game was awesome, too.. an injury time winning goal is always electrifying...

I was thinking, the last goal was going to be taken away.

I forget the player but I think it was Dempsy, got a bad hit to the mouth.



Interesting match, I liked it. Although there were some spots I was bored or it felt the U.S. lacked on defense when the Algerian's came to score.

There were a couple of them that caught my eye. Although I don't know their names.

I have to take my companions (Belgian referee/linesmen) into defence... I contrast to what we get - a replay with a line - these guys have to decide instantly. Even with the replay you can't say because the smallest tip of the finger can decide whether it's offside or not.

Btw, don't forget that your sports allow an a posteriori decision based on a replay. In football that doesn't exist; so that's football for you guys

Yep, it's the adrenaline and the temperament at the same time. Sometimes emotions - or often - can take over and then players start to act aggressive.
