@FanOfManyAnime I always thought that Kijima works for Enigma as something of a procurer of "talents" where he disguises him in the school as a teacher and monitors students who has a "talent".
But your idea could be right as well because it is like one second he is super friendly and the next he is super evil.
All in all unless it is confirmed I'll continue to say he isn't Enigma.

The eye change is actually quite common in comics so I wouldn't use that as a reason to think he's being possessed.

Agree with drmke, the eye change thing could just signify a change of mood/atmosphere about him, but not necessarily possession. Not that I'm discounting that theory, as I do think it is a valid one. I also like Keino's theory. Enigma could be a group of people, sorta like an association scouting these people with powers, and Kijima is just one of their agents.

@ErosVp: Hmm, how does that explain how he is able to hear younger Shigeru's thoughts? If Shigeru wanted him to hear them, then wouldn't that mean that she should have been aware of it? :/ Oh wells, hopefully that's something we'll find out more about later.

I'm thinking as well that might also be the reason as to why Sumio never figured that the predictions are coming from Shigeru as her dormant personality that feeds him the messages is different from the Shigeru he interacts with.

- Sumio purposely infects himself with all the Shadows
- with his cell phone, the signals of the people he has been touched with (including the Shadows he just touched), become the inverse of what they were before (ie he's unable to contact Shigeru but is able to contact people completely infected by the Shadows, such as Matsurigi and Misaki Kamiya)
- from his contact with others infected by Shadows, in particular Matsurigi, Sumio realizes Kijima's base of operations: his personal computer in Yuyami High School's staff room
- receiving Sumio's message, Kei Suki tries to access the computer in the staff room, but gets kicked out by a teacher

They beat Kijima. Suuki breaks into the office and breaks open his desk and breaks the computer. Unable to use his ability, Kijima balks and Sumio punches him right in the face. The other guys who were turning into Shadows come back.

Though it turns out Kijima is not Enigma. Enigma's hand, the one Matsurigi saw, had the tattoo on the back of the hand and Kijima's is on his palm. Now they need to escape, and there's still the matter of how they don't have an 8th password to save everybody. Matsurigi still seems out of it because his Shadow transformation has lasted so long.

- Suki breaking in: She takes Moto's bat out of his locker and bashes a window. Then she broadcasts the Takahashi-san announcement to force an evacuation of the entire school. She goes into the staff room to find the laptop locked inside a cupboard in his desk and bashes it open to destroy the laptop.
- Password No. 7 is Sumio Haiba, which Sumio picks up after punching Kijima.
- After this, before Kijima attempts to punch Sumio back, his arm is Reverse Playbacked as Takemaru grasps him from behind and everyone else shows up to meet the two.

Awesome three chapters. At the end of it all it looked like my theory that Kijima is not Enigma but works for him is true. Next chapter looks like that will be confirmed.
I think the cellphone ES thing was a nice touch to Sumio's powers. I think later on maybe his powers will develop on he might not use it and that he may not need permission to read someone mind. He is a very smart guy using the shadows was great and he has great trust in his new found friends.
Looks like Takemaru can even rewind someone's actions which is very cool and makes me like his character/power even more.
This manga has a great future and is definitely one of my favorite Jump manga.

Chpt 38. color page was good too.

I've never really liked Sakaki's CP's. But E38 was great and had excellent composition. And I think her drawing of character's movements have also improved a bit.

Wow those last 3 chapters were pretty darn amazing. Sumio's power seems to have quite a few restrictions but I do like how he was able to make those work to his advantage and outsmart Kijima. Plus that punch to the face was pretty epic.

I;m not too surprised Kijima isn;t the real Enigma since it is the title of the series. Of course it makes me all the more curious as to what the real Enigma's goal is...

Also glad to see they didn;t forget about the need for the 8th password. I don't think their going to have to go through another puzzle after all that so I wonder how it;ll work. Perhaps they;ll get the 8th password for sucessfully escaping?

It's hard to tell. On one hand, we have Yuyami High School evacuated, so now would be the time for them to escape and make a scene. On the other hand, there's still a lot of time left for another challenge to find an 8th password. Then again, that might not be needed if Matsurigi's reward is revealed to be saving Kurisu (if not the students trapped from past e-tests).

Speaking of rewards, neither Shigeru's has been revealed.

I can't see Enigma ending this quickly. For one thing, there are WAY too many unanswered questions that still need to be answered. It's like what Bleach is undergoing, except with Enigma, these unanswered questions are more relevant to the main storyline. Secondly, from what I recall, this is the only week so far in which Enigma has reached the bottom 5 in its rankings. It takes many more weeks to stay in the bottom 5 for a series to end (ie Omagadoki, Dois Sol, Hokenshitsu). Don't be alarmed just because Enigma hits rock bottom a few times. Nurarihyon no Mago did and it's doing fine now.
