Anime Hunter X Hunter Anime- Fall 2011

Loved! episode 3. It followed chapter 5, and half chapter 6 very well. The voice acting was good for both Hisoka, and Killua, I actually like the new voice actor for Killua better than the original. The scene where Hisoka make the dudes arms disappear/cut off was awesome! and I like that the whole drink thing with Tompa was included in the new anime, unlike the first one.

Yeah the drink thing with Tompa is great. It's a good way to introduce some of the characters and give them a bit of characterization
at the same time. We learn that Hanzo has a strict code he follows. Gittaracker is ominous (I like how he's like a bobblehead doll)
Nicolas is a smarty pants and Killua is no ordinary kid...or human for that matter.

BTW was Hisoka ever supposed to have blue hair like he does in the original anime?

I thought the way Satotz walks is amusing. Actually fits well with how it is in the manga. His arms and legs have a lanky effect when he walks.

As for the next episode Leorio and Kurapica don't actually have flashbacks in the manga. Will they add them? Or will they just stick to the manga and use the time for Kite flashback?

Hisoka's hair has always been red, but for some reason in the old anime it was blue lol. I'm not too sure about the flashbacks, but I think we'll get a quick glimpse of the Kite flash back http://www.tenmanga.com/chapter/HunterXHunter7/153084-16.html and I don't think their will be a flash back for Leorio, he's probably just going to talk about his goal as to why he wants to be a hunter while running with Kurapika just like in the manga http://www.tenmanga.com/chapter/HunterXHunter7/153084-13.html but I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Yeah, I'm starting to like the new BGM too, I personally still like the originals better, but the new one is starting to grow on me lol.

The episode itself was good the only thing that I really disliked are Killua and Hisoka's voices. Especially Hisoka's his voice is way too deep and you couldn't even hear his play-ish attitude in his voice. In the original series the voice actor did a great job he actually made you think that Hisoka is a magician with his playful attitude but the new guy didn't manage to do it so far. I just hope that they'll improve just like Kurapica's voice actor.

at the begining they made hisoka by ablue hair in the old anime
and in big tower arc become red hair ....
however, i dont like the remake i prefer the old one

I enjoy more the new soundtrack way more than the original. Is more vibrant and even if it uses some clichés is still incredible. Voice characterizations were awesome as well, since they will allow some darker effects in the future arcs and that's something that was needed to look forward.

I'm looooooving this.

Another great episode, though I expected one with a faster pace. At least we got a proper introduction to all the important characters who'll be participating in the exam. I like Hisoka's and Killua's voices, I'm just hoping that we'll hear a more amusing side to the former's voice. The music's cool, but I will miss some of the first anime's themes (Song of the Wind especially). I also kind of miss the backgrounds, there's just something I like about pre-digital anime backgrounds . I like some of the new colours used on some of the characters but I dislike how Bean's now green. And what's up with Hanzo's eyebrows?

Hanzo's eyebrows are strange. I dunno what is up what that.

Was bean always green? What is bean anyways? Was he bitten by a mutant bean and turned that way lol? Is he a human or manju? What would he look like if he was a quimera ant?

Anyways, what are the differences between this anime and the original one? Is it just a better animation?

More fitting to the manga, being revised by Togashi itself and better pacing.

It's good, I love it more than the original. Can't say more though until I see a fight.

his old one was the best
and why the guy who hisoka attacked his arms turned in to flowers or what ever it was lol

but i am suprised Killuas voice is good

But i still like the old anime more

I think its just that we are too used to Hisko's voice. I remm the old anime, I didnt like Hisoka's voice at start, but I cant imagine him with this voice in greed island and other arcs... The old anime made him too feminine sometimes, maybe that can change in the new series.

The anime seems better now, and its being well paced too. I hope they dont waste time anywhere and move to insect arc as soon as possible.

Honestly I never really cared for Hisoka's old Japanese voice. The new one actually sounds more menacing.

But really I'm a dubber. Hisoka's English voice is the best. To me at least. Actually all the English voices are superior imo.

I think it would be awesome if the new anime got the same dub voices. I mean the dub isn't that old.

Hmm. Seems like most of the fights during the final exam are filler. I actually hope they show them like the original anime did.

I hope so too. I actually liked the filler that the previous anime added to before and during the Hunter Exam. I think the filler helped give the arc a better pace to be honest.

I think what they should do is have a whole episode with all the "skipped" fights in the manga.

Yep. It's cool his last name is Hunter and so is Adam Hunter who voiced Kite, Basho, Bendot, and Patron 2.

So it's Brendan Hunter and Adam Hunter in Hunter x Hunter. I thought that was cool.

Some people think that Gon and Killua sound too old in the dub but really I thought they sound too young in the sub.
In the sub they sound like 7 or 8 and in the dub the oldest they would sound to me is 13 or 14. I think the dub
is closer to how a 12 year old sounds. But it's hard to get the voice just right since 12 is between a childish voice
and a more adult voice. Also they sound less girly to me which I always like since I usually hate it when a girl
voices a guy. It's good when they actually sound like a guy but when they don't it's annoying. I don't care for
Kurapica's voice in any version for that reason. I know he's supposed to be girly but no 18 year old guy
even effeminate ones sound like women. Not that I have heard any at least.

If we don't get him again who would like to dub Hisoka? I would say someone like Doug Erholtz who voiced Gin Ichimaru in the English dub of Bleach. It sounds sorta familar to the english dub of Hisoka. Though I would still prefer Brendan Hunter actually. (Though I do think Doug Erholtz
was a good choice for Gin Ichimaru)

I always did like Gon's dub voice over Junko Takeuchi, I don't know what it is but I was never a big fan of her voice acting. I like Megumi Han voicing Gon more than Junko Takeuchi. If someone like FUNimation picks up the series it would be cool if they can get Brendan Hunter to voice Hisoka again because I think he did awesome portraying Hisoka. If they couldn't Doug Erholtz would be pretty cool, he as that real creepy tone to his voice that would match Hisoka imo.
