Uh...okaaay. Magico is back up again, I'm not a fan so I can't say whether it deserves it or not as compared
to Engima and St&Rs which are both potentially good series. We'll have to say goodbye to one of them soon.

Great to see kurogane do so well :D I want it to stay the same, I like that series.
I hope mago rises higher tho, it deserves more and it seems like reborn! is falling back again.
lol at the expected rise in naruto due to a certain character.

St&rs is a major disappointment. A nice series with solid writing and premise but does not seem to have struck the right chord in Japan. Maybe it can limp along for a year like Sket Dance did and gradually build an audience.

I hope Magico lasts. It managed to escape from rock bottom, which is an amazing feat. Enigma and ST&RS are on their deathbed right about now.

Harisugawa is starting to topple over. It's almost inevitable that a new series will sink after having a strong start. It's happened to almost every single series since Enigma. I'm sure it will happen to Kurogane too.

I don't think so, it's rather normal.
In other countries WJS titles are licensed by other and many different publishing houses. So modify or terminate the contract just to publish few title online (with two weeks gap) is useless.

But they want to stop Edited Mangas. How are they supposed to do that when Edited Mangas will just keep flourishing thanks to their ignorance of the international community?? I will be pissed if they send a C&D order to MS. Before they even think of doing that, they should reflect on themselves and realize that the reason why it's still going is because they're refusing to make it region-free.

er, i think it is not that they 'refuse'. Negotiating rights is not simple >_>
...Let's not assume this and that. :)

besides whats the point for them? more rights mean more money costs for it, this means the revenue must be higher for them which wouldn't be. i could imagine uk, but other non-english nation would not buy english translation of mangas, besides the point that the ipad isn't so well recieved in germany as in the usa. same goes for ebooks and kindle...

ps: germans can speak/read english, but to enjoy reading manga, they need their native language for their pleasure, to loose the mind and not to work how the translation could be. the market share for people who read english mangas without problems and enjoy is rather small. don't think this would be much different for other countries like france, spain.

This is pretty common. I'm surprised people expected different, I mean they have a 2 week gap for one. It'll be a while before they get the details fixed to their/our liking.

@ Asgaroth: yeah, so true. Technically, my country's 'official' language is English, but a lot of people here can't speak English (my country is very culturally diverse). Plus, i know a lot of countries in which local tankoubon release is very close to the Japanese one (only 1-2 tanks behind). In my local bookstore, Japanese manga magazines can be bought easily within a few days (?) of Japanese release. But it is so expensive, so i don't see the point of buying the mags imo.

Soo... I am guessing Viz want to test the water first.

With the experience of reading manga for 10+ years and english ones for just as long, my personal opinion is that there shouldn't be any kind of language barrier anymore, not if english is taught from the 3rd/4th/5th grade nowadays. The internet is mostly english, as are the most important sites, as this is. Hey don't make us look like the Frenchmen. XD Of those reading manga in germany, the percentage able to read english easily should be pretty high. Nobody's born an expert, practise helps, but some just refuse to even start trying.

It's bad news for me, and probably most manga readers in my country. As of yet Portugal has only translated a few series such as Dragon Ball and Yu-Gi-Oh, most of the manga (among other things such as video games) we get are in English.

As I said before, I don't mind the 2 week gaps and Edited Manga break down (seriously, they need to do something about Mangafox/Mangahere). On the other hand, this doesn't include Australia which disappoints me highly and therefore I won't support it till otherwise.

I think that's highly counter intuitive. If more people support it, then they'll have more reason to bring it to other locations. If nobody in Australia supports it, then they won't bring it over there because... you know nobody in Australia supports it. Saying you like this and you want it to come over to your area is probably the better thing to do right now.

Except that it is not a big deal for us since most of the good comics of the world are translate in French one day or the other :-)
Plus in France we have our own manga publishers and Viz is not one of them. So I guess they would be right issue.
