Re: Weekly Oricon Comic Rankings

I want to ask opinion from others. If the anime-adaptation for manga isn't very well made, then do you think its manga tank sale is not going to increase as much?

[susanoo13]

Re: Weekly Oricon Comic Rankings

It happened with Beelzebub which increased from arround 170K to 210K in the meantime which is not that much although the anime enjoys a fair watch rate IIRC

Badly made adaptions that tank can still increase sells drastically. A light novel example for instance would be Baka Test. The LN wasn't even selling over 50k before the anime, after anime a volume cracked 300k, yet the anime was only at around 4k sales which is low.

Re: Weekly Oricon Comic Rankings

With the Jump releases being only out for three days it's hard to gauge their totals, but for all 5 of them it's very good.
It's worth noting that the Toriko Hunting Book is a data book and is a lot bigger and more expensive than a regular volume. Also, like most data books, like 80% of it is just a summary of the series written in fancy infographics.

Re: Weekly Oricon Comic Rankings

Any news on ST&RS sales?

Well it didn't make the Top 50 list which simple means it sold less than 15,316 copies which is for a WSJ series way to low.
The low sales coupled with the low position in the ToC means it is a goner during the next cancelation round which will happen in probably 8 weeks
