LOL, that reminds me that I'm pushing my friends to play rpg irl with my friends about HxH xD
Anyway, I hope you get some answers but I actually doubt it will work out properly. I think most of users here wont spend much time into roleplaying due how HxH manga works (Hiatus and all) and they'll grow bored eventually and focused in other mangas and its activities.
Well not with that attitude it won't! :P But seriously, I'm not expecting it to last forever, but completing at least one arc would be nice.
Let me elucidate a bit:
-It would all be text-based, no stats whatsoever.
-I'd be looking for about 3-5 players besides myself; I'd rather have a few good, dedicated players than a whole heap of people that it's impossible to keep up with.
-Those players would also have to appreciate that the point of the RPG isn't to prove your character is the strongest hunter ever, who can blow up buildings by yawning. The characters, for fairness' sake, would be of roughly equal strength and/or experience (I was thinking about Knuckle or Kaito's level, but I think that might be too strong. Whatever, that can be discussed and decided later).
-This would mean, of course, that we can use nen (hurrah!), and hopefully we can build a dynamic team of well-rounded characters.
As to plot, rather than being once massive, all-encompassing arc, there would be smaller arcs, each consisting of one hunt, with some on-going threads running throughout them all (for example, I was thinking of having a recurring team of opponents/enemies, just so that we can avoid being introduced to some formidable enemies who then only get half fleshed out and disappear forever).
Hunts I have ideas or plans for so far include:
Bodyguarding an eccentric billionaire and escorting him across sea, and then across land, to a specified location, whilst protecting him from assassins.
Seeking out a legendary beast who only appears once every X years in a certain location, whilst racing against dangerous poachers.
And, oh yes, you'd be allowed to make up to two characters if you wished; a protagonist, and a member of the enemy group.
