Glad Naruto is on top. People hating on Bleach because of its position has gotten old so moving on. Mago second to last, dammit.

Another color page for Bleach....i dont think thats gonna help the series.
Naruto.....sigh,well atleast something good happens in this week chapter(even if it is last page).
I was going to start reading ST&RS dont know if i should wait a bit,if it is canceled i can read in one go(not that wish series to be canceled).
I wonder if Pakki is going to survive long enough.
Overall good TOC.

Reborn: Reborn hasn't been ranked in the top 5 for a past few weeks.Seems the initial excitement of the Curse of the Rainbow arc has faded.
Errr, good morning sir, chapters with color pages AREN'T ranked.

Yeah I know that.I was mentioning in general for the past few weeks,it's been quite low in the ToC unlike some time back where it used to be in between 4th to 6th.

It looks like St&rs will next one to be gone. But, I think St&rs will be only one that it'll be axed because Jump is putting one shot without ending anything, that means there is one free space for another new series.

Re: Weekly Shonen Jump [2011] - Discussion and TOC Talk - Part 2

i've lost my faith in Kubo... i no longer think he is capable of coming up with something massive like the war in both one piece and Naruto... he is sticking with the same old routine .. but nowadays that's not enough to satisfy the fans ( me included ) after Naruto and one piece raised the par ( huuge fan of both ) .

so maybe it's time to drop out Bleach :( :( ...

great week for Naruto and gintama though... gintama is doing wonderfully the last couple of weeks , i hope it keeps that up

Depends on whether they start three or four new manga in December. Last time I recall that happening was issue 1-4 of 2008 (Psyren, KO Sen, Muddy, Poseidon). While the one shots and Hunter x Hunter will likely save a series each, it is likely that Magico will be canceled soon. It is either in the bottom five or just outside every week, the volumes don't sell that well, and it is old enough that the editors pretty much know what they have. It might not end in December, but if it does not it will be in danger when the next cuts come. It's entered the P2/Samurai Usagi zone: popular enough to last about a year but not a big enough hit to last much longer.

I think these recent one shots actually replaced Enigma, with Nisekoi taking the place of the one shots that ran from issue 44 - 46. There is no question that they will save one of the series serialized after Kagami.

It is already confirmed that there aren't going to be any new series in December since Issue 3/4 will be last issue for this moth.

Also, I don't think Magico isn't in P2/Samurai Usagi zone because they actually stayed in bottom part of bottom 5 for consecutive weeks. Magico is still doing better than them and it occationally stays out of bottom 5. In order to Magico to be in P2/Samurai Usagi zone, it has to be in consecutive last place or just above last, like Enigma.

Very rarely out of the bottom five, and when it is it is not very far out. It has only polled above the bottom five in six out of the last twenty issues. And most of those times it was pushed out of the bottom by multiple series that are not in any immediate danger: Hunter x Hunter, Kochikome, Bleach, Reborn, Medaka, or Beelzebub. It also had color pages in one of the six issues, issue 33. It has not been in the front half of the magazine since issue 28. Magico has more bottom five appearances of any current series, other than the soon to be canceled and much newer St&rs.

Whenever then. The point is that four new series have not debuted in consecutive issues this time of year since 2007.

Yes, but the editors still tend to axe the series in either last or second last place. Hokenshitsu and Oumagadoki is consecutively ranked in bottom 5, but it didn't got axed right away because it always managae to barely stay out of worst place until they pushed to last place. Magico is currently in early stage of Hokenshitsu/Oumagadoki, so it is not still in worst position to be axed.

The point is that four new series have not debuted in consecutive issues this time of year since 2007.
It is depend on how many series the editors are thinkig of put in first 2012 series. They possibly just skip, like 2010, or just going to put two new series.

Glad to see a Naruto lead cp again. They're always fantastic,so that's something to look forward to.The TOC itself is perfect actually, though Stars could be a little higher.

No,that never gets old. :>

Yosh, I bet next Naruto color will be amazing~

And... actually I may be glad that Bleach is so low..
..because it means I get to see more color pages :XD

Bakuman is REALLY high :oh

And yeah, I'm really sorry for ST&RS, but it's a goner. I hope at least Kurogane does well.

naruto at the first position is really good and gintama is very high as well, they deserves it.
magico is fighting, but its safe at this time. I think strs is the dead one.

But what is left to cushion Magico? We know series that rank that low for that long are eventually canceled. Oumagadoki only lasted five volumes, Hokenshitsu for ten. Five volume Enigma is another example. All were cushioned by some very unpopular short series, and canceled when they ran out of cushioning. Magico is in the same position. The last cushion it has left, assuming only one series is canceled in December/January, is St&rs. After that there is nothing. If Magico is not canceled at the same time as St&rs it will be in the next round. There is nothing after St&rs to cushion it, if more two or more series are canceled. If Nisekoi polls poorly enough to be canceled after 15-20 chapters it would be canceled a week before or after Magico. Kuragame and Kagami have polled well enough to survive a cut or two, assuming they can not sustain current position. Without a black swan Magico is out of series to protect it.

Yes, but we should see this happen when actually St&rs has ended. We never know what will happen in future poll; we might see something that we never expected.

Re: Weekly Shonen Jump [2011] - Discussion and TOC Talk - Part 2

I think one of the series going pretty much unnoticed here is Toriko. It has been consistently ranking within the top 5, and has on occasion taken out first place (replacing Bleach in the top 3 amost every week). The current arc is also really interesting, it is one of the most enjoyable jump series imo. Well done to the mangaka on a successful series. :)

From what I'm seeing on Oricon Ranking, Nurarihyon's and Beelzebub's tank sale have decreased as compared to previous volume.

That Oricon Ranking is only based on one day's worth of sales. Jump manga goes on sale on the 4th of the month and those records were Nov. 28 to Dec. 4th.

Yes, I know. Those two series' previous volume's first week sales are also based on just three days, like their recent volumes. See for yourself (nevermind on Kuroko, I misread this one):

PHP:

Re: Weekly Shonen Jump [2011] - Discussion and TOC Talk - Part 2

15 Beelzebub Ryūhei Tamura 2,607,474 this is for the entire year of 2011
last year i couldnt find but it was below 3 million but i really doubt beelzebub sales would decrease just cause of one arc i would wait till next week to see if the training arc(s) really had a effect on the actual series or not since it wasnt nearly as bad as the simon arc in reborn. as for nura dont know i guess wait till next week to see for sure.
