Less than Harisugawa? Oo It felt like a fan-service fest throughout the whole first chapter, even for me, a dedicated ecchi lover, those upskirt views were a tad to much. I wonder if her "wardrobe" will only consist of Pijamas.

I agree that there are quite amount of fanservices throughout first chapter, but it didn't have a picture of nake girl like Harisugawa. I, personally, think Pajama has a perfect amount of fanservice for weekly shonen magazine.

Well...I personally don't see Pajamas going to be popular or surviving long enough in this magazine...the chapter was pretty boring even for it's first one...not really creative at all. The last page "killed" the story for me. At least the fanservice was nice~ Weekly Shonen Jump needs a new Mizuki Kawashita Manga~ xD

The art was Mizuki Kawashita like... the senpai girl was really cute.

Hamada's artwork does look similar with Kawashita's, but I prefer Hamada's art.

The art was pretty weak to me. It feels a bit sketchy most of the time, especially compared to the other romcom we had recently. I'm not even talking of the plot which is quite inexistent for now. Really not a serie I will be looking forward to.

His art reminds me of Kawashita's in the same way that Oda reminds me of mid-80's Toriyama, inspired by but not necessarily derivative of. Chapter 1 was entertaining, good but not great. Not bad, considering Jump is not a magazine filled to the brim with timeless classics. I definitely liked it enough to read chapter 2.

Re: Weekly Shonen Jump [2011] - Discussion and TOC Talk - Part 2

yeah, it doesn't really seem like a series that'll survive to me, but who knows~~
the fan service moments seemed odd to me, I didn't think they were done very well, but that's just me

I'm hoping the story'll get interesting, but if it fails, no terrible loss のヮの

The artwork was nice tho :3

I wonder how you can think of it not surviving, when we haven't even got to the explanation of the main plot element and it's portrayal. Ghosts are nothing new, but let's see if he can give it the special touch. I hate to write off a new series after a single chapter.

Art was pretty painful to read through when it wasn't a fully focused on one of the characters. I don't know what was going on there but the transitions were rough on the eyes. That said, I'm interested enough in the series itself to keep following it however long it ends up living.

Everyone knows that only action series survive on their own. Every other genre needs to be pimped. Ecchi comedy is doomed from the beginning, Jump has no history of success from that genre.

Isn't To Love-Ru a successful ecchi comedy in Jump?

Re: Weekly Shonen Jump [2011] - Discussion and TOC Talk - Part 2

Sarcasm bro :disappoint

Jump has a long history of ecchi comedy. There was ToRa of course, along with I"S and Ichigo 100%. Medaka had a substantial amount of fanservice, at least early on (I have not read Medaka in years). Arguably the first ecchi manga ever ran in Jump: Go Nagai's Harenchi Gakuen.

There really is no reason to believe that Pajakano will be canceled, not based on one chapter. Obviously it is to soon to predict success either. Once the first rankings come out we should have a good idea. Pajakano does fill a bit of a genre void, it may have a bit of an advantage in that respect.

:wtf
Kurogane #4 awwwww
Really glad, it's doing soo well. I'm kind of curious though, it ranks so well but tankobon sales aren't very amazing. Not like they're bad >.<

Bakuman getting higher, as expected :3

Re: Weekly Shonen Jump [2011] - Discussion and TOC Talk - Part 2

I'm happy for Kurogane. It's a very simple but a very likable series.

And in the end we got to give some credity to this:

--->POSSIBLE!<---
Jump Issue #14 TOC (Excludes CP's & Haikyuu)

Sket Dance (Lead CP)
One Piece / Naruto
Naruto / One Piece
Kurogane
Toriko
Bakuman
Nisekoi
Medaka Box
Beelzebub
Reborn!
Magico
Nurarihyon no Mago
Kochikame
Hunter x Hunter
ST&RS
Inumaru Dashi
Genson! Kodai Seibutsu-shi Pakky

Absent: Gintama
It's not 100% accurate, but we can have a general idea of the positions, like in what portion of the ToC the serie will likely be.

I think the same thing that happened with Enigma will happen to Kurogane. It gets alot of votes, but doesn't have loyal enough fans to buy the series, and one day people will just stop voting for it.

Ohana missed Hq!!
Maybe it's a fake TOC!

No High Kyuu this week? It just started 2 weeks ago. So I think no way it could be absent this week @@
