We were trying to keep track while we were there. Curry Badger was one...I've got style homedog....the "crab dip" one ...there were some more at dinner. They'll come back to us eventually.

You totally answered my question, and it's definitely been a help for me. I think my concerns are just silly stuff. There will always be awkward moments in wedding planning, and those things always disappear once the marriage happens and it's all over.

Its so nice to here you guys sang wedding songs during dholki get-togethers! In our extended family the tradition of singing sings is slowly dying out so its comforting to hear people doing it! My sister loves music, so we'd love to do the same for her. I agree, the mehndi is definitely the best! The wedding can be quite sad because of the rukhsatti. Your sister's wedding sounds like it went off without a hitch, and I hope inshallah my sister's wedding is just as fun! (Also, how awesome is it that even though your brother-in-laws family are a bit Molvi, they still participated with the singing!)

I am glad I was any help. My sincere good wishes to your sister in her coming life. There is nothing more joyous than to see your loved ones living a good life. I am positive everything will go great. I didn't want to mention the ruksati part. It was one of the saddest day of my life. My sister is always like my best friend and I miss her so much. Now, I miss her kids a lot more XD.

It seems the old traditions are dying here. Now, dancing on Indian music is more common here. I don't like it. I enjoy with old traditional way. You know, the preparations by your relatives and friends thinking out the songs - practicing and all more fun.

I was on a smaller Fighting Game forum that linked here back in 2005. I lurked for a while and didn't join until 2006. I guess Gold Knight took notice of me not being a complete tard and asked me to moderate Gantz and Berserk (I offered for the latter since it lacked a mod as well). I also had some value at finding raws and spoilers so he modded me in the RTS section (what the database was before the database). I became a Global in 2007 I think? I think I was asked to be an admin in 2008 because I just outlasted anyone else of note .

What made me stay? Well enthusiasm for manga/anime and discussing it can come and go. What kept/keeps me here are the people . It's a unique environment, I've made friends and hope to continue doing so. I consider some of them lifelong friends ....oh the intarwebz

Pat, the dressing is different here. These pictures seems to be of Mehndi function, more commonly called Rasm-e-Hina here (Hina=Mehndi - the thing you put on your hands for decorative purposes). Are these pictures from a Turkish wedding? The format of the wedding varies even here. Mostly, its more or less the same. Its the little details that are changed due to several reasons like sect or tribal traditions, proximity, etc. According to our religion, only Nikkah is must. All else is made by us.

1. Hard to say. I've been around long enough that there are many and I don't know if I could really pick one honestly. All entertaining and good people...some even easy on the eyes ...ahem, but that is irrelevant
