7th sens soon. Because it seems we indeed have a 6th (recent discovery)...even with we can't use it (magnetism).

I actually heard that people have way more than 5 senses.
Certainly, but this 7th sens seems to be the only one which the scientist research managed to reach for now, as far as I know.

Actually, I think some people have no sense at all

ba dum tss
well tbh, the senses are points of contact with the environment." How does activity with sensorial materials encourage observation and perception of the environment? When a child is born, he begins his conquest for independence. The infant has an absorbent mind, with which to take in the general environment through each of the five senses. It is through exploration using the five senses that the infant becomes familiar to objects in his environment. In this essay, you will read about the early years of the child, from age 0-6 and the child's need in discovering the world and becoming independent. It is through the five senses that the child begins his conquest for independence. I will discuss the topic on sensorial impressions versus sensorial education. Sensorial training in a Montessori environment is given through the use of specially designed apparatus. You will read about the characteristics of these materials and how they aid a child's development in different areas. The Early Years "...the child's nature is to aim directly and energetically at functional independence.." (The Absorbent Mind, Chap 8, pg 76) There are two aspects to formation of man, the mental and the physical. From birth to the age of three years, "the child 'absorbs' his environment, takes everything from it, and incarnates it in himself." (The Absorbent Mind, Chapter 7, page 57) Children at this period learn unconsciously and it is thus important that parents prepare an environment that is ideal for the child's pursuit of self-construction. From the ages of three to six years, the child will start to organize himself, building himself through work and integrating his mental development with his present experiences. It is during the age 0-3 - the creative period of the spiritual embryo and the absorbent mind- that the child gathers impressions from his surrounding and gains experiences that will shape his mind (psyche). During this period, the child will learn to orientate himself in his environment. He will learn to walk, speak and to recognize objects and people. He discovers his environment on his own, without the help of adults, and he does so unconsciously. As the child moves on to the age 3-6, whatever impressions stored earlier in his mneme moves from the unconscious to the conscious mind. His senses have not yet developed fully and adults have no direct influence on him. He develops himself through his own activity whereby the senses and movement are the major tools for learning. The child's experiences are linked to his environment and it is only through active engagement with his surroundings that the child gains his experiences. Thus it is important that child is provided with rich and varied experiences from birth. It is only when he reaches the age of 3-6 that he needs to understand what he is absorbing, so that he may understand his environment. The Five Basic Senses Nature has given us the five senses, which are as follows:- * Sense of Sight - Visual * Sense of Touch - Tactile * Sense of Smell - Olfactory * Sense of Taste - Gustatory * Sense of Hearing - Auditory There are three aims for development of the senses:- Biological Aids the natural development of the individual (For example, the ability to use our senses refines the use of our bodies) Identifies, prevents, and/or corrects psychological defects. Social Aim Prepares the child for community environment, helps the child to be aware of his environment and things going on around him
