By blood you mean this bruise? Like it mattered to the plot.It sucked seeing the fight cut off blood and it certainly reduced my hopes for the upcoming one.

If I were satisfied with just the plot then I wouldn't have started watching this adaptation to begin with.By blood you mean this bruise? Like it mattered to the plot.

Even One Piece gets censored sometimes.Provided you have realistic understanding then you would have looked at the amount of violence 'One Piece' can get away with at its more kid-friendly time slot than that of HxH. By defending it and insulting others when it's obvious that something has been screwed up you only put your fan boy position above critical judgement, which is utterly wrong.

I'm sincerely hoping for that.Maybe holding the budget for Kastro vs. Hisoka and Hisoka vs. Gon?
I do think the fight was animated well enough though for something that really isn't much of a fight to begin with haha.
One Piece airs on Sunday night at 8.30pm. Hunter x Hunter airs on Sunday morning 10.55am. How is One Piece in a more kid-friendly time slot? I'm not insulting others nor am I being fan-boyish. Just having a level of common sense and understanding of animation and anime production. I explained that still animation actually serves a purpose in some instances and backed it up yet I am apparently a fan boy who is above critical judgement? Okay then. I'm sorry for not hating on things when there is justification for it or it didn't detract from my experience. Regardless, believe as you will, I prefer not to bother arguing with someone who can not even do a modicum of research when making outlandish claims such as One Piece being in a more kid-friendly time slot than Hunter x Hunter.Provided you have realistic understanding then you would have looked at the amount of violence 'One Piece' can get away with at its more kid-friendly time slot than that of HxH. In this situation your understanding isn't down to earth and there's no convincing me.
I'm of the opinion that this was less of a censorship issue and more of a lazy animation issue.Provided you have realistic understanding then you would have looked at the amount of violence 'One Piece' can get away with at its more kid-friendly time slot than that of HxH. Zero Animation? That's a little over the top wouldn't you say?Hey I wanted to see that bruise too. Sure it doesn't really matter since Gon gets
seriously injured anyways but if they can show Gon cut his eye open why can't
they show him cutting a bruise? Heck it doesn't even have to be as bloody as the
manga made it. They can just have a reddish mark. I'd be cool with that.
But they didn't show anything.
Though I'm gonna say it was more due to the laziness of the animaition team this time
rather than censorship since the real problem in this episode is the lack of animation.
I give this episode a 7 out of 10 as it WAS a good episode as far as what happens
and all that jazz. But this was one episode where great animation was needed.
They didn't even have good animation or ok animation. They had virtually zero animation.

I'm sincerely hoping for that.
Well, let me put it this way. If the 1999 version could animate Gon vs Gido then why can't the 2011 version animate it?
But anywho the 2011 version SHOULD surpass the 1999 version in terms of animation.
What good is it to watch a subpar version of the fight? They BETTER not give Gon vs Hisoka this kind of treatment.
Sorry to disappoint Sherlock but I do my homework before stating something and if you need more details then I'd add that it airs on Sundays at 9:30AM.One Piece airs on Sunday night at 8.30pm. I'm NOT expecting movie quality animation (that I would be VERY happy with it) I'm just expecting it to be animated. Get the difference?Yeah I really don't see what the big deal is. This isn't the most important battle in the series so expecting movie quality animation would be a bit much. Sure there were a few too many static scenes but that didn't bother me at all honestly. The highlight of this episode was definitely Kurapika's meeting with Mizuken. The acorn bulllet scene was just badass. I don't think we'll actually see Kurapika's training though, his scene mostly served to show viewers that he too would learn about Nen. I loved the "Death Note-esque" music that played during Gon and Killua's training. Made me shiver and all! xD
I fully agree with you. I watched this with the Nippon episode next to it and it wasn't really all that different. Gon vs Gido isn't that important and people need to remember this is an anime that might go 100+ episodes. An average episode of Hunter X Hunter looks better than an average episode of say Naruto.I think that a lot of people might be missing the point. The battle between Gon vs. Gido isn't the most important part of the episode. All it does is explain that Gon naturally learned Zetsu during the Hunter Exam arc; it's more of him reusing a technique we've seen him do before. Thus, the animation was fairly lackluster. But the animation quality significantly improved starting from Killua's conversation with Wing. Look at the framerate and the motion from thence point onward. Both that scene and Kurapika's segment are well-animated because they're what matter more in the end.
One more thing: Crunchyroll mistranslated a line that is extremely crucial in setting the tone of the series from thence onward. Instead of Wing saying "I may have awakened an incredible beast," he clearly says "unstoppable beast." I'm actually quite surprised that it was mistranslated to such a degree. The former line implies a positive tone, whereas the latter? Well, those eerie choirs were placed during Gon and Killua's meditation scene for a reason.
OK, I wanted to ask you about something similar a while ago, in episode 24 when Silva was talking to Kikyo at 21:20, he said something like "wakatteru janeka" and it was translated "So you understand what's at stake" but it sounded to me that he said "So you don't understand", which is the right one? thanks.I think that a lot of people might be missing the point.
