I always thought that Jump's new issues were put on sale by wednesday. So there's a big gap from Jump's launch and the first Edited Mangas!

What we read on Wednesday goes on sale in Japan the following Monday. Enterprising raw hunters get their chapters early. Before Mangastream raws came out Friday; stores received copies on Friday, to ensure they could go on sale first thing Monday morning. International stores also received no issues on Friday, "rumor" has it they were not adverse to selling copies to regulars the day they received shipment. I do not know how raw hunters are getting them on Wednesday but have heard that China is prominently involved. I can't confirm that though.

Before we stopped hosting raws, 60% of Mangahelper's traffic was from Japan.

Yeah... that's why there was the problem Shueisha, in form of their subsidiary, Viz has made MS stop releasing stuff, now they at least remove the scans after a couple of days. Or why MH isn't hosting RAWs anymore. The japanese citizens are monsters, in some cases they take the biggest chunk of traffic on "english" manga/anime/****** hosting sites. Akiba-**** is going down when it turns evening in japan. XD

I'm actually surprised that Nisekoi is doing so well but it looks like Komi's series already has a huge fanbase. Hq! is doing really well too, it feels good to see new series doing great after this long time of cancellation after cancellation. I actually feel confident enough to say that both series will last way longer than Magico and Enigma did - if the authors aren't ending it in a natural way before (like Harisugawa ).

And I'm pretty sure that Kurogane and Pajama will be the next to go, together with Koisome or Bulge if they rank exceptionally bad. Might be a bit early to judge but that's the feeling I get.

Really? I've literally heard nothing but reviews saying it's one of the worse things printed in Jump in years....haven't read it personally but those reviews seem somewhat one-sided.

I wish Bleach would get one of those cool anniversary books that One Piece and Naruto got, the ones which were packed with other mangakas' renditions of those series' characters. It'd be interesting to see how certain mangaka would draw Bleach characters in their own style.

I think that happens for Jump titles that sell over 100 million copies as DBZ, One Piece and Naruto have done so far. Bleach is pretty close as its overall volume sales should be around 80-90 million worldwide sales.

That's a rough first ranking for Bulge. On the bright side, that bottom five is almost perfect if you ignore Gintama. IMO it's a good week any time Bleach and Reborn are both in the bottom five at the same time.

My uneducated take on what I see is...

Kurogane is done for
It's ranking low and it's plot really doesn't leave much room to pull something out of it's bag of tricks to turn things around. I still think this series best bet would have been to embrace the supernatural side and slice of life side more. In the end focusing on Sports Kendo side wasn't enough. Ultimately all it took was one bad character to sink it (Ebana).

I'm not concerned in the least about Bulge.
I realize I'm not really basing this on any more than my opinion but the way I see it series sink or swim based on their own ability to pull an audience and I have faith that Bulge can do that; especially given time. It's easily the most "complete" new shounen story I've read in years. The editors at jump would have to know this too and will give it as much leeway as they possibly can; particularly with several of the big names on the way out in it's genre.

I don't even read Bleach, but I'd also love to see the renditions of its characters drawn by other mangaka.

Even if it's not a booklet, it would be nice to have a tribute of some sort. Regardless of what people think of Bleach now, it's still popular and have left an impression in the magazine. A couple of the mangaka did something for Final Fantasy and the earthquake victims- IIRC those were released online so it wouldn't be entirely impossible.

Toriko is first, glad to see it.

It's unfortunate that Bulge made it's debut around the time so many other awesome things were happening though.

Toriko has always week by week appears in top 3. Its was even in top during the semi filler chapter like ehou maki and dodurian bomb. Since toc is 8 weeks lag its currently in the food honor arc which i believe the appearance of a murderous horror granny alone is enough to secure the top spot. (and the way wagon was cut..send me shivers for hours)

Makes me wonder since which chapter toriko started to gain popularity and reach the top of toc because after that i think it was almost never below top 5

I don't think you should be comparing Bleach with Final Fantasy or the earthquake victims >_>
they're both on a completely different level. (especially the earthquake)

but I am quite surprised to realize that WSJ didn't do much for Bleach's 10th anniversary

It seems like PSI Kusuo Saiki will either be getting a simultaneous volume release in August/September or a VOMIC in August and a volume release in September.

A character is left out at the start of both so it reads ??omic, so we can't be sure which it is but it is most likely a VOMIC.

New series usually peak with their first ranking. Although 8th isn't necessarily bad, Bulge will probably rank in the double digits in a few chapters unless Jump readers are wowed by one of the following chapters. Or it could do a Nisekoi and consistently rank in the same position every week, but that's a rare occurrence.

why is everyone so surprised by bulge's ranking? i thought it was a pretty typical shounen action series. care to explain what so great about this series is?
