If this turns out to be true, I don't know what to say.

It is actually on the frontpage of the sunday telegraph tomorrow, which is more reputable. I dont know what to make of it honestly, I just hope it doesnt mean we become another City or Chelsea.
I hate that in European football. I mean, wtf, how are you gonna buy a club, an institution; it's like buying a country (ok no, but you get the point)...
Here clubs have presidents, elected by members of the club (each member has to pay a fee monthly to do so, obviously). The members (120000 people in case of River Plate) own the club, not a rich bastard.

Because here the clubs are companies and not associations.

That's crap btw
It has a lot to do with the political and legal systems in the countries at the time. Voluntary associations (which those fan owned clubs are) are not considered legal persons in English common law, so they could not hold/own stuff. So when a club had to buy a new ball, loan some money from the bank etc, when it was being founded, it was easier to become a company. A benefit is that the football clubs were less susceptible to political pressure as limited companies rather than voluntary associations.

To be honest, this isn't really news to many Arsenal fans I'd think. I remember hearing rumours of Middle Eastern investors quite a few times over the years. Maybe even before the whole Kroenke share buying became public knowledge.
I'm always a sceptic when it comes to news like these and question the intentions of the buyers and how they'd interfere with managerial decisions that they know nothing about.

So Real vs United is coming on Tuesday ... I really want MU to pick up speed in the CL, but then again Real have been paying so good recently ... they are motivated and all that. I do suppose if MU score first we are in for a hell of a game.

I think that Madrid have enough to beat United right now, but you never know. We could always get a 1-1 draw and go to ET and then penalties or a 2-2 draw, for example.

Imp, I picked Arsenal to beat Spurs 2-1 or 3-2. I can't decide, but I picked an Arsenal win. As well as Bale is playing right now, Spurs is a one man team. The fact Dembele's goal against Lyon and Dempsey's goal against United are the only goals scored for Spurs not by Bale in a long while is a big problem for Spurs.

Well, it's apparently not working out for Arsenal, so I feel like a fool for believing in them.

I had no hopes for this match, not even watching it.

Well, it is 2-1 now, so you've pulled one back.

Well, the United vs Madrid match was always going to be the highlight match this week.

My picks for the teams to progress (not counting the results as I'm not positive of a win or a draw in certain matches) are as follows:

Madrid, Dortmund, Valencia (Ibra and Veratti being out will be a huge problem for PSG), and Juventus.

No one cares. Not even Ronaldo fans :yodawg
So what though? It's still amusing.

Oh. Actually, until you mentioned it was Maradona, I didn't realize that it was him. I thought that it was just some random bearded Spanish speaking guy who took a picture of himself and put it on twitter or something. :(

Then again, Maradona, being Argentinian, should think that Messi's better. Although, given that Aguero's Maradona's son-in-law, shouldn't Maradona think that Aguero's the best player in the world? :derp

You serious? :oh

Yeah, he just seems like a bitter asshole unless there's another story behind it like losing a bet or something.
