They've actually used stem cell therapy in the case of paraplegics, but I'm not sure of the success there.

I guess so, missed it a bit. Not sure if there's anything else and not even sure of the success rate. One thing I know for sure is that it's expensive.

now that would be an awesome use if successful. idk about the rate here, but bone marrow transplants got a success rate of 40-60% or so (iirc, according to DKMS). that's highly complex though as they shoot down all defences and complete isolation from germs all around is difficult.
as for paraplegics, weren't there also ideas about a technical way to bridge the nerve-gap? guess that can't ever be as fast as real nerves though and likely not cheap either. so long they build lots of ramps, automatic doors, elevators etc. to make access possible for them and other wheelchair users (assuming we're not solely talking about quadriplegic cases)

Eventually it returns to each doctor's decision since we're heavily affected by our own views (mainly for religion). I think it is banned in general, but there are people who do it no matter what, of course.

If they are found out, sure they would get severe punishment. But well, the fact is not like that...

Sometimes there is news on TV about this, but that's only one or two from who knows how many. So yeah.

Yeah.

I didn't even go to church because of a biology competition held at campus. I was part of committee.

Basically it was a biology competition for high school students. We did insert some materials related to medicine though, to make it a bit more fun. It was a national event so any high schooler from the whole country who wanted to join could do so~

Not really. They have been informed about it previously, and that is indeed the 'star' of the competition. Otherwise we will be just like the biology olympiad.

There is annual olympiad for various field: science, even subjects like computer iirc. And then the winners compete nationally then internationally.

I'm good, just trying to clear up my to-do list... Going well, but new assignments come as soon as I clear up the old tasks so yeah.
