Don't get many Series around 4 Tankobons per year, Naurot for example? So that would mean around 3000-4000 ongoing series and I wouldn't be surprised by this amount.

well i remember someone say that before the release of volume 21 they ware 21 millions. And this is only the top oricon sells so it's not very accurate bit thanks!

The only one I can remember is BLEACH has sold over 1.2 million on the USA (As of volume like 54 or something)

The absolute best selling series (Naruto, Sailor Moon) rarely sell more than 4000 copies per volume. If I can ever find the link, I will post them. US manga sales are somewhere between dismally low and non-existent. Shelf space for manga in US bookstores would best be described as minimal.

Thanks! I really don't get the comparison but the numbers in France are really good. I would expect that in most parts of europe the numbers are the same.

Not necessarily, no. France, Belgium, and Italy traditionally have held comics (Bande Dessinée and Fumetto, respectively) in high regard, viewing them as legitimate artistic and literary media. Manga is highly regarded in France and Belgium (don't know as much about Italy), with significantly more manga available in French than there are in English. I know that fewer manga are licensed in Germany than in the US, with fewer still in Scandinavia. Manga sales in Europe should be lower than in the US, sales in the US should be lower than in France/Belgium, and possibly Italy.

I doubt even France makes up a significant percentage of overall manga sales. Total global sales are probably too low to effect the primary, domestic Japanese market.
