Spain's play is overrated, it's simply an imitation of Barcelona (but they have no Messi...), I'll never get tired of saying that. IMO Germany is the best team in Europe by far.

And I expected Brazil to win, but I was hoping to see a kinda even match. Maybe if Luiz hadn't stopped the equalizer (or was it 2-1? I dunno) or if someone that isn't called Sergio Ramos had shooted the PK... but no.

Also, this proofs how the Joga Bonito era is completely gone for good, and now Brazil plays a different game, a game that is more about shutting down the enemy (and today they did it amazingly) and searching for a weak spot, trying not to depend on individualities.

They lost because they were inferior, simple as that.

I misstyped. No I don't believe that's the case at all.

And what has Germany won? Not doubting them being a top team, but Spain being Barcelona without Messi, as simplified and weak of premise that is, has been enough to win as much as they have. Not sure how that's something to hold against them.

We already had this discussion before... I'm not gonna talk again about how poor their WC was :XD

It's because you can't...they have the trophy :rofl

You can say whatever you want about performance, but no team, and I mean NO TEAM, outplayed them to the point that anyone else deserved it. If you disagree with that, then you're high. :XD

WTF, Paraguay deserved to beat them and Casillas saved the day. Same with the Netherlands and guess what, Casillas saved them. That WC made him my fav GK and I see him as the best of all times (I still dunno how he didn't win the best player award nor got into the top 3). They depended on him in every match. Iniesta was the only one that showed some play, and Villa was always there to do the important goals, but nothing impressive and they never showed a champions' gameplay at all.

What team doesn't depend on their GK? That's what made Casillas the best GK in the world for some years.

You sound like an insane person right now, man. You don't win the WC by accident. They won their group, and they won the Cup. If another team had true "champion's gameplay", they would have won it if Spain was so unimpressive. How many WC winners dominate every single game they play? I know Italy didn't in 2006, they barely won their group. They didn't have to play a class team until they beat Germany in the semifinal. Australia? Ukraine? Ghana? You barely won your group against Ghana, CzechRep, and the US? This happens more WCs than you think. But the Cup is the Cup. Oh, and they have two Euro Cups as well so you know it isn't just a fluke.

Do you want me to start talking about 2006's Italy and how much they sucked? lol

I'm talking about how they play, you don't seem to get it. It's like saying that Chelsea plays amazingly well because they won the Champions League (beating Barcelona) a couple of years ago. Spain, in every single title (except in the Euro's 2012 finals where they played against an unrecognizable Italy) they struggled against every decent tier team and that's a fact.

Am I insane just because I can't see what's the big deal in how they play and how everyone has up there? Just because I don't follow numbers? I decide to be insane then.

No, I was saying that I don't know why you're fixated on them being outplayed and that they still won. Italy is Italy, what have they won after 2006? They've had some successes, but were garbage just like France in 2010.

I'm not sure what you mean by the big deal in how they play. Everyone knows how they play and everyone by now knows how to counter it, but most of the time it doesn't matter what they do. That's why they were the best team in the world for a long time. You can say this one is more exciting to watch, you can say this one has a lot of talent, but where are their trophies? I just don't see how you can say that winning the Euro twice and the WC didn't grant them being the best team in the world. You might not like how they get it done, but they still get it done. Three trophies =/= luck.

I won't say they're the favorite going into next Summer, but who knows.

France wasn't garbage in 2010, they deserved the title.

Who'd be the favourite then? Brazil? They only won the confed cup. Germany? They didn't win anything. Us? lol, we're just 1st in our Qualy, we didn't win the Southamerican cup (I'm not gonna talk about how we lost against Uruguay, cause it's the same case as Spain)

Title of what? Worst Team EU? They were in last place, and had 1 point. No Euro team did worse than them technically :XD

I really don't know. Germany, Spain, Italy, Brazil, Uruguay, Argentina.........the list isn't anything really new. Maybe Ronaldo can finally carry Portugal?

He really stepped up his play last Euro though, something that was a drastic change from WC 2010. Though the PK situation in the semifinal against Spain was sort of mind-boggling.

I don't know, I think it feels more wide open than than either Spain or Brazil. Anything could happen between then and now.

I think this confederation cup has showed that Spain, Brazil, Italy are really strong and on pair with them there are Germany, Argentina, Portugal, England and France.

Any of the above can win IMO the chances are very equal in my eyes. And a little bellow there's Uruguay and Netherlands.

Argentina always fucks up somehow around the quarterfinals. They just don't have that team chemistry, they're good individually but they could be so much better than they are right now as a team. I see them getting eliminated in the quarterfinals.

Spain deserved all of their title to be honest just like xio said. As much as i hate their gameplay, they were just too strong during the last tournaments. The thing happening now is that many teams are getting used of their gameplay and hey're missing that fantastic #9 who's supposed to score every goal. (although Soldado is the best guy to fill that position but he's not quite there yet.) Anyways, I think by the next WC every team will be used to the Spain's gameplay just like Italy and Brazil showed they were.

Nigeria are actually the only team I've seen that almost had as much possession as Spain, unfortunately they lost because they didnt't have a good striker and they kept missing many opportunities. I think they were the one that played the best against Spain (after Brazil ofc.) even if the result was 3-0, everyone that watched the game can say that the loss wasn't as bad as it seems and that they deserved to win. I hope the coach is going to find some good striker or at least work on that.

I think the next world cup is going to be very close. I think either an african team like Ghana or Nigeria (if they work on the attack), Netherlands ( Robben has matured and Van persie is in top shape.), Germany or Brazil is going to win it all.

Uruguay didn't impress me at all. In fact, i believe that they didn't even deserve to go trough the groups stage.England is going to choke like usual. And france doesn't seem to be ready yet, it's been that way since 2006...

I'm really looking forward to see FCB playing with Neymar.

Also lol at Neymar and Pedro arguing in game about a foul on Neymar, future teammates ah :derp

In 2006 we lost because Abbondanzieri got injured (and we lost in PKs) and in 2010 well, we didn't have a coach to begin with, what do you want.

2014 will be very equal, yes, and that's why I think that's the best chance Messi will have in his carreer to win a WC. If we don't get into the top 4 I'll be very surprised.

The best chance Messi would've had to win a WC would've been to become a Spanish citizen and not play for the country where his hometown club wouldn't support him and give him the roughly 600 pounds for the treatment he needed. Barca helped Messi out and essentially, along with his parents, brought him up. I still think that Messi should've played for Spain.

You're making it look like "Why would he play in that terrible country where people don't give a shit about a kid's health? He should have played in Spain, he owes everything to them".

When he was a kid, his parents searched for that money (900 $ per month) everywhere, only Barcelona showed up and offered the money (that would mean that every other club in the world is shit?). He plays for Barcelona since 13, for Argentina since he was 17. In 4 years you think that everything in his mind would change?

Even more, his parents said "that money was like half our salary". Wow, his parents are shit, they didn't want to sacrifice some money, they just sent him to another country.
