Discussion Who will get Ace's Mera Mera no Mi (Fire) Devil Fruit?

EddyBob15, you don't have to repeat the same content to every user who has a theory that doesn't include Rebecca joining the crew, this isn't even the Next Mugiwara thread and you still keep doing it here... it's their theory for now, as yours is yours, everybody is guessing/concluding their own ideas.

I just think she's a good contender for the fruit, and the one who gets the fruit should be part of the crew. After all, what's the point of bring back Ace's fruit if it's power won't be used in the crew?

Personally I don't want any SH crew member to get the Mera Mera no Mi. For the same reason that Usopp will always be the "weakest" member, the balance of the crew would be disrupted if there's a Logia. (Unless Zoro and Sanji >>>>> the Mera Mera no Mi crew member, then by all means.)

I'm still sticking with my choice for Coby. He's the first person Luffy befriended on his journey and getting the Mera Mera no Mi will allow him to face a much stronger Luffy in the future since Kenbunshoku Haki and some Rokushi moves are just not enough.

Since he's dreaming of becoming an Admiral, Coby with the Mera Mera vs. Akainu with the Magu Magu will provide an interesting foil as well.

Well if a SH member get the mera mera...it must be a new member...cause i dont see any of the SH eating it..

I know we need a logia in the crew...but the mera mera is powerful...but since new world is full of haki user..it will make then easy target.

But i dont want becca to eat it...shes weak and i dont like her...unless her skill make me like her....and i dont think cavendis will lose..soo i wait a see

Why does a member have to get the mera mera no mi? What if nobody gets it? Maybe Luffy uses it to preform a funeral service for Ace, deposing of the fruit somewhere no one can get it.

I think Luffy already has plans for the fruit to aid his crew. Why else would he ask Franky to eat it?

Yes. Something like that would be much more interesting story-wise than just giving it to an ally (laaaaame). And if really someone must get it, then I'd rather it be Burgess or another enemy so as to rise the stakes of a future arc.

But really, the most brilliant outcome would be if Doflamingo had tricked everyone again and the fruit's a fake.

Luffy and plans don't get along well. He asked Franky because he was the first person at hand, in the same way he'll ask every weirdo he comes by to join his crew and every mermaid wether they poop. It ain't "plans", it's merely the Luffy brand of "stupid".

To me this subplot of the new arc is by far the most interesting.That s because Oda can really make things complex about who gets it.I don t even know if this is the real Mera Mera or a bluff that Doflamingo pulled just to lure Luffy in the tournament.But if it is there s a bunch of candidates who could get it.What if Luffy keeps it and in the next arc he finds that Sabo is still alive and decides to give it to him so it stays within the family.From the current Straw Hats i don t see anyone eating it and definitelly not a weapon.Rebecca does seem like the new Vivi the difference being that Vivi after her revelations but she is starting to become a major part of this arc a trait that every Straw Hat had so far.This is clearly the most interesting subplot cause we can pretty much tell where everything else is going for now.

Would be very dumb of Oda to give a member of the Strawhat the mera mera no mi. Zoro's sword seems to be a better choice than any of the crew. I could see Blackbeard's crew getting the fruit.

Rebecca is not leaving Dressrosa, she will not be the next, and she will not be given the mera mera no mi. Her grandfather will be restored to the throne, she will become the princess and heir apparent, finally able to live with Soldier-san after his humanity is restored. She will find her own strength, and realize that she never needed the mera mera no mi in the first place. Once Doflamingo is defeated she will decide that she never has to fight again.

so who do you predict to get the mera mera?

it may be interesting if a villain gets it, however i would prefer a good guy get the fruit

not sure if i would want zoro or sanji to receive it, it may be interesting if kine'mon gets the fruit considering he is already familiar with fire

Kin'emon already has a DF power, as does Momosuke (albeit artificial) so they can't eat it.

blackbeards crew is already powerful, them becomming more powerful actually makes things more interesting, so i would be ok with this

Glad you think the fruit's power should aid the crew, however, don't write Rebecca off as a non-candidate. The kind of flashback she had is usually reserved for SH recruits.

Rebecca isn't SH material anyway, then she can't both have the df and stay back on the island because BB will pay a special visit himself. Hence, the only options are Burgess takes it, or Luffy takes it (not eats it himself!) or the df is fake.

First of all, they move around hence it's quite difficult for BB to target, besides there are some additional alliances with them like Law at this moment, maybe Kidd and other SN will join the fun when Luffy takes on Big-mam. At least it's much more difficult to be hunted down than the case some weakling ending up with the mera mera (Rebecca in this case), there is no way in hell BB fails to take the df from her without SH around.

It's obvious, Jesus Burgess will get it.. It will add more salt or vinegar to the wound luffy has of losing his brother and thus kick BB's rear till raftel's shores..^__^
