Hangout Shingeki no Kyojin Hangout Thread

Except Dragonball's story isn't tight-packed like SnK. The kind of arcs that are supposed to be in a story like SnK are those that connect and piece together the bigger picture of the plot. Dragonball on the other hand, like most of the shonen manga nowadays, makes the end of most of their arcs like a finished story, which then at the same time, making things open for possible new arcs that has almost zero connection to the previous ones.

The one that I'm concerned with Isayama is his precision in that specific interview. Normally, I'm pretty sure a normal mangaka wouldn't know which volumes has which. But with Isayama, he pretty much stayed true to his words in which volumes has the surprises especially with volume 10(2 years after the interview). That pretty much says how much a mangaka planned things all out when he managed to predict when the surprise is going to be after 2 years.

I haven't seen this interview before, not that I am up-to-date anyway. This is gold, where does this come from?? the first paragraph is kinda confusing haha...

I read this interview from my English copy of SnK volume 1. It just happens to be up in that website too. XD

And I also kind of find it funny that Isayama-sensei was accused of a bank transfer scam because of how popular SnK got . This interview happened in Japan when there were just 2 volumes released for the manga.

The introductory paragraph on that page, but it's fine now, I only want to know when it happened and where it came from, and you answered that for me And his incident with the bank is definitely the highlight of this interview IMO too

I think it's probably an error...... I really want to say so, but the dates are in October, it'd be way too erroneous to be a simple mistake lol. It's still up in the air, we shall wait and see hehe. But if Ep25 ended nicely, I can't imagine what Ep26 would be about unless it's some sort of recap episode, plus maybe some extra scenes or interview or whatnot, something like an OVA? Actually speaking of which, isn't Ilse's story coming up next month or Nov or something?

EDIT: Oops didn't see Kaiten's post. I think it'd be the Ilse one too :D

Really? I thought they don't air OADs like this on the net nor on TV and even consider it as an episode...
Though I do hope we get to see Ilse's eventually XD. It would be totally unfair that only people who buy the limited edition of volume 12 could watch it.

Yeah, I'm referring to the October 9th one... that's basically one week after the supposed Ep25 on nicodou...
Now that I've checked the Ilse thing which apparently comes on in December, no way this has anything to do with Ilse... I wonder?
It'd be funny if that "Episode" lasts 3 minutes, but I wouldn't bet on them naming it Ep26... haha...

Well, it doesn't mean that a manga that runs on a shojo magazine should always have a "shoujo feel" in it. By "shoujo feel," I mean bubbles and flowery stuffs. XD. There are apparently a lot of shojo manga that doesn't have that feel.

Practically the only reason why I think Levi's Visual Novel prologue is on a shojo magazine is because Levi appeals more on the female demographics rather than the male.

By the way, since Shingeki no Kyojin has two spin-off manga running right now, I actually noticed something. There's no "attack on titan" written on their covers....

OMG. What if "attack on titan" is actually a subtitle rather than the translation for the title Shingeki no Kyojin? XD
I mean the literal translation for the title Shingeki no Kyojin is "Advancing Giants," right? What if the main manga has actually at least two parts, with the first part called "attack on titan" because humans are making an attack towards titans?

Oooh I like that theory (although the implications of the language switch are kind of weird). The other side story is listed as 「進撃の巨人 Before the fall」 but this shoujo one is 「進撃の巨人 外伝 悔いなき選択」 I wonder if that could mean there aren't any kyojin playing a major role in it.

I'm really looking forward to it, either way. I want to give it a fair chance when I see it.

& btw where is this "birth of Levi" written? I didn't see it anywhere on the art you posted...

I don't think it's that clear, but you can still see it just right below the title and above Kuinaki Sentaku on the colored cover/page. It's where "attack on titan" is usually written in the main manga. It says, "Birth of Levi." So the full title is probably,
"進撃の巨人 Birth of Levi 悔いなき選択 ―プロローグ―" .
