Also think it showed how he "stretches his arm". Okay, so he was shot right? And he said he was poor, so the likelihood of getting good medical attention was low at best. He probably got the bullets removed, but the bones weren't properly set. At worse I would imagine his shoulderblade was split or possibly even shattered, thus meaning the limitation that the shoulderblade puts on the reach of someone's arm would be negated. Also, since he's most likey a righty, and he was shot in his left shoulder, he uses his left arm to jab. Those quick shots are how one gages distance of your opponent, right? A quick, long shot would throw off your whole game.

So far we have:

- Feint with Sakki
- Liver Blow
- Gazzelle Punch
- Dempsey Roll

And maybe we can add his awesome right.
But the point is, sooner or later, he is gonna have a new weapon anyway

So, considering the size of his small body (which works well for Dempsey) plus his Turtle Strategy & Weaving Movement, the question is:

What would be his next weapon for the world ranking fights?

Ippo lost a chance for a good World Ranking chance and had to start from the bottom again.

Just like how Date was.

i doubt it will be as simple as that, if the fight it wont be a kouhi-senpai BS fight, it will be a fight between true rivals, a fight that didnt happen with Miyata

Not so much an accident in the treatment but a byproduct of improper treatment. Let's say he had enough money to go to a proper hospital and recieve proper treatment. Getting X-Rays the doctors would have noticed the fractures in his shoulderblade, and taken steps to fix it. Since he didn't have said money, he probably just had the bullets removed, and accounted for the initial pain in his shoulder as a result of being shot (makes sense). Over time he realized he could extend his arm to unnatural distances and tried to figure out a way to make money with this talent. He may or may not have realized why he could do it.

I've only reached the part where Itagaki has just been introduced and the first thing that already struck me was if he's in the same class as Ippo, wouldn't there be a conflict of interest if he wants to move up?

It seems to me that the difference in strength between Itagaki (before he debuts) and Ippo (Jap Champ) is smaller than between Ippo (a Rookie King) and Date (Jap Champ)

No Ippo for a while sucks largley and double issue for a couple weeks worth? Well as long as it includes all those nice fancy effects we got in the recent Ippo vs Mashiba spar then the wait will be MORE then worth it.

Also Malcom Gedo... bombs can be found within.

It'll be an amusing fight. Not as good as a real Mashiba vs Ippo rematch, but should be entertaining. Ippo is most definitely going to win though.

Does anyone think that Itagaki's family is just super weird

And I dunno if I'm messing up some stuff but I tot Takamaru was a heavyweight champ in the anime, did he went down a few classes in the anime and I didn't notice becoz he was in the j. middleweight class in the world title match in the manga

there are many things happen in HnI when Itagaki joined

also if a fight happened between Ippo and Itagaki it would be the best fight in the series(not better then Taka vs Hawk i hope )
