Toriko replaced Bleach, so I guess it'll shove ahead and take Naruto's spot. I doubt AC has the life expectancy to be one of it's main flagship series.

As far as I recall those have always been adventure/action series, but... since they don't have any other big series like that..
They can't count on HxH and Beelzebub/Gintama have a specific audience.. Not sure how Kuroko's manga is doing or where it's at, but a sports series seems a valid choice for a spot in the 'new big 3'
None of them. Shokugeki is more likely in my opinion.
Kuroko probably reached its maximum popularity after two anime seasons, I don't think that it can be more popular than what it is now. Regarding AC, it's a short series since the begining, it sells well as we can see, but it is not the best substitute for Naruto.
Shokugeki no Soma, on the other hand, already sells 200k without an anime and with only one year of serialization. With an anime it can have a boom of popularity and reach huge sales. Also, it has potential to become a long series.

One Piece, Toriko and Shokugeki no Soma will be the top in the future IMO.
Personally, I don't think Toriko should be promoted to the Number 2 spot. Kuroko started around the same time and it does better in sales and its recent ranks are almost always higher. Plus, Toriko has reached its limit. Kuroko however is increasing little by little. You can see it in the volume sales. Even the print number was increased for the more recent volumes, if I ain't mistaken.

Shokugeki would need more time before they can rely on it. It's just been a year. Another year like this and then it can definitely take one of the top 3 spots.
Maybe they'll go for the top 4. One Piece, Kuroko, AC and Toriko.

Wonder who jump would promote as its 2nd manga once Naruto ends. Kuroko? AC?
World Trigger. Seriously, only battle manga have that privilege, and there is none else. It looks like Naruto, too. Strategy battles, teams of three, trion/chakra... Has potential, except for those characters =3=

What do you say about Slam Dunk? Say that it's a "privilege" only for battle mangas is wrong. Also, World Trigger isn't popular enough currently to think that he can substitute Naruto one day in the near future.

Is this a joke? A series with a future so uncertain to become one of Jump's flagships? Do you really mean it?
The only one that can get the spot is Toriko (which is already the third of the "big three"), and maybe Soma in time.

By the way, all this big three stuff is really nonsensical. There was never a big three to begin with. That's a term that somebody from outside Japan invented.

Tensions are rising? I think its kind of a bit silly to have discussion of which shall be 2 and 3 and etc...

Sure, but there are those series that JUMP loves to put ahead of the others on covers and ads. So even if its a term that the western audience created, its something that JUMP does.

Haha, I was just trying to deviate the topic from Bleach. That topic got too boring, to be honest :P

Yeah, but on the cover group of the magazine there are 3 over the others, and not necessarily the best sellers.

I don't think Toriko has replaced Bleach. Bleach has decreased its popularity, but it is still more popular than Toriko. Plus, Toriko already reached a limit on its popularity. So, I don't think it'll be difficult to replace Bleach.

In my opinion everything will be the same, but Bleach will get 2th position and Gintama or Toriko or AC will get the 3rd position.
Soma and kuroko iI don't think because both of them aren't battle manga

I, honestly, don't see any current Jump series going to replace Naruto; I'm not sure how much young series going increase with the support from animation, but I don't think it'll reach Naruto's level.

So, I, personally, think rather than to promote the 2nd manga, it would be beneficial to promote many series that has at least half of Naruto's popularity.

The last year or two, in group-covers or other promotional stuff from Jump, Luffy, Naruto and Toriko took the spotlight. Ichigo was always left behind those three, that's why I said that. It might've not literally replaced Bleach. But it's definitely taking it's spot within Jump's department..

Honestly, if I think about it, none of the current series can achieve the fame OP, Bleach or Naruto have/had, which made them the big three.

Yes, I know.

HOWEVER, even though Toriko manage take Ichigo's place, its popularity is lower than Bleach. Hack, even Kuroko and AC are more popular than Toriko, now. Furthermore, there is a high possibility that even Haikyuu!! and Souma going to take over Toriko's popularity as well. Furthermore, as I said, Toriko is already at the limit of its popularity; it has nothing to increase its popularity, now. So, it is kind of foolish to promote Toriko as a successor of Naruto at this point.

I agree on One Piece and Naruto, but I think there are some series that going to achieve Bleach's old popularity, like AC, Haikyuu!!, and Souma.

Don't read so much into double issue covers. Just because Toriko is placed in the foreground doesn't mean it is as popular as Bleach, at it's peak. It's not, it never has been, and never will be. It's a solidly popular action manga with no cross over appeal beyond fans of the genre. Comparing it to Bleach would be a massive over estimate of Toriko's popularity. Comparing it to Naruto is simply ludicrous. It never will reach Naruto's level of popularity, nor will it ever come close. Nothing currently serialized will.

Don't forget Gintama. Gintama is much more popular than Toriko.

Well the covers probably are more representative of the TOC. There is no denying that Toriko replaced Bleach when it fell down in the bottom. But then Koro sensei should definitively have its place there too but I doubt they would dare put Naruto out.

I have a question about vomic's though, I never particularly looked into vomic news, stats etc.

How popular are vomic's in Japan? And how do those influence the series?
And besides this, how do foreign manga/dvd or merchandise sales influence the series in Japan?

Foreign sales have no effect, and nobody cares about vomics.

Alright.

And yeah, that's what I thought, but I suppose vomics have some kind of influence?

I think a vomic would only have some kind of influence if it was aired on tv during a tv show or something, otherwise theres really no appeal for it beyond people who already read it and people who would already be visiting the website for a series.
