Re: Weekly Oricon Comic Rankings

One Piece in first as always. Only very good series in this chart I have to say, I'm quite happy to see Nisekoi in top 30, it is a victory for a series which its genre is not known by good sales. It sold almost the same as TLR, which has much more time of serialization. :)

Congrats to AC to reach 7th place with just a year of serialization, it is really a monster. Haikyuu!! will be the next Kuroko no Basket.

Could you post 2012 Top 30 to compare?

Shueisha only able to made 14 series on top 30 on last year; but, it able to made 21 series on this year.

While every people just focused on the success of Shingeki no Kyojin, Shueisha able to made several hit series on this year.

Re: Weekly Oricon Comic Rankings

Most of this is about what I thought. I'm impressed Shingeki no Kyojin almost caught all the way up to One Piece. That's really something. OP usually leaves everything else in the dust.

And Jojo's really doing way better than I expected. I guess it's because there's a separate Oricon list for bunkobans. But they've really been selling well. It explains why now they're doing all these hundred billion versions of parts 1-3. They just finished the soushuuhens and now they're doing the Jojonium hakosoubans. If you combine both Jojo's they're just under HXH. Good to see newcomers like Haikyuu!! and Tokyo Ghoul and Terrformars up there. It's really impressive how high Kuroko and Magi are as well. I didn't realize they were that popular, to even beat Naruto. And Sket Dance had quite a formidable ending as well. Really glad to see Kingdom doing well. The 2nd anime seems to have given it a big boost. A lot of stuff from Young Jump doing well.

Re: Weekly Oricon Comic Rankings

Assassination Classroom cannibalizing Bleach and Toriko sales is finally apparent at this EoY benchmark. Definitely deserving of it thanks in part to the phenomenal quality its been since this second portion has been going on.

Ace of Diamond's anime must be helping well (though why no Yowamushi Pedal...). Hope its its the 4mlns at least next year assuming the anime wont be ending this season or even next season. Haikyuu!! ought to explode too.

Next year ought to have Shokugeki no Soma and One Punch man (which had a volume on the 100manga best selling list).

Re: Weekly Oricon Comic Rankings

All those Shingeki and One Piece volumes pushed a lot of series out of the top 50. It's not so much that some series sold less, it's more about One Piece and Shingeki combining for 15 of the 50 bestselling manga.

Re: Weekly Oricon Comic Rankings

wow, one piece really did have to get volume 72 published this year instead of the original schedule , if it only had 3 volumes as initially planned ( same number as SnK ) it would have lost the first place :D amazing

Re: Weekly Oricon Comic Rankings

Why ? What I meant is that only new volumes will be in the top next year not the complete serie.

Wow, Even old volume of Shingeki no Kyojin can outsell new Naruto volume. very impressive.
too bad One Piece release 4 volumes while Shingeki no Kyojin just 3, otherwise Shingeki would be No.1

How exactly?
You could say AoT sells around 2 million copies a volume. One Piece on the other hand, sells more than 2.5 million a volume. So even if both series release 4 volumes a year and they continue to have the same number of sales, One Piece would still outsell AoT.

If there was a chance for AoT to beat OP it was this year with the significant increase of sales for all AoT volumes thanks to the anime. With all that increase for AoT, it still didn't sell more than OP.

Maybe because I imagine the way if One Piece only have 3 volumes release instead of 4. not if Shingeki release 4 volumes instead of 3.

01. One Piece (18,151,599)
02. Shingeki no Kyojin (15,933,801)
different margin = 2,217,798

and newest One Piece volume.
04. One Piece #72 (2,354,005)

).
Wasn't it apparent before?
Withh Bleach however not by that much yet. Bleach had only 4 volumes and AC had 6 just like Toriko, Gintama had 5 so you can say that it also outsold Toriko quite nicely. Hriku is doing really great since it had only 5 volumes. The old ones still adre doing great. Naruto is going great with just 4 volumes.
