ok let's watch my friends dying and go easy on the elite soldier who can kill me anytime along with everyone else because i don't want to be a baddie.
at least i want him to try killing him but just get stopped at the end, that way it would at least be more exciting in that he is brave enough to kill someone.
but yeah like you said, this is shounen jump, i don't know why i'm having such unrealistic and almost impossible expectations, it will always be talk no jutsu all the way :facepalm
You're not the only one who wants to see some actual kills.
I mean the whole plot of the manga is how they are normal students being trained to become hitmen/assassins and kill this godly powerful being. How the heck can this be a manga about assassination / hitmen when the said students being trained in this art don't even kill a single human being. It's sort of like trying to sell a manga about these people who gain cool abilities and are supposed to fight but they never fight only practice. Maybe a bad comparison but it really feels so lackluster.

I totally agree , i know there's a very low possibility of getting sometihng like Death Note with killing and stuff these days but i wish he would make it darker, it would be alot more interesting to see them grown up each with his own assasination skills fighting against those evile guys(the guy with the white cloak) along with Kurosensei if they have the guts to kill a real person.

It only feels lack lackluster if violence is the only thing you consider exciting in a manga...Matsui set up things pretty early to not include the kids killing actual people. I mean even the knives they use of Sensei aren't "real" knives.

It's not the only thing i consider exciting, i still like the manga alot but i just don't see how they will hold back against every opponent they face so as to not kill him even if they and thier friends are in danger. And anyway they're trying to kill Kurosensei who's actually a good guy, so theyr still killing someone in the end.

Maybe because killing someone is a crime. And those students are teenagers. Let's have a bit of morality please. It's not like everyone of them wants to make a carrier as a hitmen in the first place.

and yet they are all trying to kill Kurosensei which is a crime, he didn't do anything wrong until now, all he did was help them and save them more than once.

I believe he threatened to blow up the planet...now I know that's not technically on any of the law books in the world.

It really isn't about killing is a crime; it is more about killing human or non-human being.

well just like he threatened to blow up a planet Takaoka threatened to kill like 20 people and he's already doing it while Kurosensei didn't even show that he's capable of blowing up the planet and he didn't show any signs of hostility towards anyone and having a different appearance and abilities doesn't make him less humane than them, he still thinks and feels like humans. sorry i don't see why they think it's ok to kill Kurosensei but not Takaoka, they already know he's a result of an experiment and there are even others like him and they already saw one of them, so instead of killing the good guy they should investigate first if he really blew up half the moon and where and how did he become like this.
BUT NO they should kill the guy who is bluffing and when there's a murderer killing their friends in front of them clearly they shouldn't be baddies or they will go to jail LOL

A big difference is also that Kuro sensei himself asked them to kill him.

Caught up~~

Actually Korosensei said they should not kill before starting that mission( not that I thought someone would do it). They are learning to kill not to be hitmen but to save the planet and their attempts to killing him are even considered as a mark of affection.

Killing Korosensei and a human are different things, I think only Nagisa and maybe Karma have the guts to do it. Maybe Nagisa will kill someone if he decides to become a hitman later. But yes, it should be legit to kill Takaoka, their lives are threatened.

I dont think it makes sense in the context of the manga for any of the students to kill Takaoka, and he hasnt even killed anyone in their class. Maybe if the teachers did it then I could see that happening, but the students? I think in the context and premise of the series and how its set up, it wouldnt be morally allowed for the students to ever kill anyone but korosensei. Maybe if it was a different magazine or something.

blowing the moon was just meant to say "I'm not joking when I say I can blow the Earth too". And I don't think a reason why we should doubt he was the one to do it. That would be really bad writing.
As for meaningless nitpicking. The moon has played an essential part for allowing life to emerge on Earth. So it's probably really bad she was destroyed. Also it does not really make sense that she stays a crescent like that :-))

Takaoka didn't kill anyone, but attempted murder isn't exactly a misdemeanor. He intentionally poisoned them and then blew up the only antidote in his personal possession so how does that, so far at least, not make him a murder? Just because your plan may end up failing doesn't make you much less guilty, only luckier in the eyes of a judge who obviously won't sentence you to as much time as someone didn't fail.

However, Takaoka is deranged and clearly a more present danger than Korosensei who at this point does not seem like someone who would intentionally kill anyone. The form he's currently in can release high amounts of energy, so I'm assuming the only reason he blew up the moon was just to get somewhere far from Earth so that he wouldn't destroy it in an unwilling release of energy at the time his transformation was complete. His body doesn't seem stable, so he's been gaining more and more energy ever since and estimates that he'll explode again by the end of this manga lol. We do know that he's getting faster, so that's evidence of this.

72 was an incredible chapter and I liked how it still can create the type of fear and emotion of series that do kill off characters. That dark smile from Nagisa there and such to be burned in Takaoka's mind with this second defeat was incredible. I wonder if we'll get him coming back before the series end though being successful.

Hoping for Terasaka and Karma to do something to the three revived guys.

Epic chapter and an awesome way to end the fight with that assassin skill, just shows how skill and deception are more important than strength for an assassin and someone like Nagisa is a perfect fit for that. I just love Nagisa's smile it's so creepy and cool!!

The guy with the guns is funny, good to see he's not done yet xD and the 2 others with him, but Karasuma should be almost fully recovered by now and can probably take them out easily with the help of the others if he needs.

Umm, I really really really want to know what was said in chapter 76 because
I'm all but certain that the assassin was Nagisa's dad.

Edit: Oh wait I forgot about the shinigami, maybe this is too obvious.

Re: [New] Assassination Classroom by Matsui Yuusei

So do you guys think the manga will end once they reached a year or do you think the author will find a way to extend it?
