Hello! :amuse

I want to know if the Akira Amano Illustrated Book is new. Do you have a link to where it might be sold? Do you have a link to some of the some of the artwork in it?

Information is just released on Jump' official website on few hours ago, so there really aren't any information about Amano's illustration book.

Jump Comics March Releases Covers:
Gotta admit, the best cover in this lot is Assassination Classroom's followed by KnB
Am I the only one who is reminded of WT when looking at AC's cover?

Why does Toriko look so weird in this cover??
Never thought I'd be saying this but this has got to be the worst Bleach cover of all time.

Since we spoke some days ago about Jojo moving magazines, was there any official reason for SBR to go to Ultra Jump? Was it the hiatuses? Lack of popularity? The series getting seinenish? Everything remains guesswork for me. Anybody knows the actual reason?

I think Jojo moving was because Araki needed more time to draw the way he wanted. The artwork improves drastically after SBR switches to Ultra Jump.

I love Jojo, but to be honest, I wasn't a big fan of the art style he had at the end of Stone Ocean and the beginning of SBR. There's way less detail and the characters look less like... neat and realistic. They looked kinda more cartoony and a lot of little touches that are visible later on aren't there.

Because Araki wanted to wrote longer pages for each chapter; Araki wanted to do more dynamic story and have more detailed psychological scenes in SBR, but weekly chapter is too short for it.

I believe Araki got lots of stress while working in weekly magazine; but, not because of workload, it is because he can't finish the chapter within about 19 pages.

I don't know the reason, but I think it is interesting that Jump did the same thing with Beshari Gurashi a year after Steel Ball Run moved. Beshari started in late 2005, the first 28 chapters were serialized in Weekly Jump, before moving to Young Jump. Steel Ball Run was serialized for 23 chapters in Weekly Jump. Two new series (Steel Ball Run did not officially become JoJo's part four until after the move, even though the character names were obviously related) by popular, veteran mangaka, debuting about a year apart, both serialized for almost the same amount time, before moving to seinen magazines does not seem like a coincidence to me.

Thanks!
But early SBR was not 19 pages long either, so there must be something else.

Well, it was originally serialized by 10 by 10 (serialized 10 weeks and take 10 weeks break, then serialized 10 weeks again); plus, it was serializing 31 pages per chapter.

Plus, Araki also mentioned that SBR is will be stuffy series if it didn't included seinen magazine's criteria. So, I think SBR was more suitable for mature readers than teenagers.

This discussion makes me think WSJ should have some "exceptions" in the way series are serialized like pretty much all other weekly magazines, biweekly, monthly magazines allow.

Why would Weekly Shonen Jump need to conform to what other magazines are doing. What is there to gain from doing this?

Author comments for todays jump, guess we get two a week for stealth symphony.

Ensure author that have health issues get published more often at a more "relaxing" pace instead of seeing them get publish several times then disappear for more than 1~2 years.
I know though it's something that will never happen.

Are you talking about two comments or two chapters?
I think he means comments and that will probably only be for this week as other series with two authors (like Medaka or Soma) only had/have one of them in the comments usually

I think WSJ will give a special treatment to only really, really, really popular authors.

I think it had two comments because it is its first chapter. After that, I think there going to be just one comment (either Narita or Amano).

Stealth Symphony was just as amazing as I imagined it was going to turn out, felt like its on the more wordy side of manga in jump. Gorgeous art, stunning story telling, and great character designs. Best final pagel to a chp 1 in awhile.
