The author announced a long time ago he planned on having the series be around 20 volumes = 80 chapters so around 2-3 years left (considering there are 4 chapters per volume)

I don't remember the source, but there's a more recent tidbit about him expanding the story, so that means it could last longer. Authors say these things often, but there's no real point in thinking of it as a hard deadline. Especially not with a series as huge in popularity as SnK is.

It's impressive, the boost the anime gave (!), but SNK doesn't actually dominate if we look at sales on a volume-by-volume basis. I hope it keeps doing well though. :')

I don't think it can dominate One Piece overall. But seeing it surpassing this manga just once is incredible for me.

I have read the entire manga so far and I am in episode 20...

SnK will certainly surpass One Piece (which has been waning for years).

As I mentioned before, the story has monstrous potential to last 4-6 years more.

I hope Hajime sticks to his original plan and doesnt draw things out to suit the fans. Many series are currently feeling drawn out and getting confusing.I dont want him to change things as he goes because fans like it, just stick your original plan of how things will happen and how it will end. Yes it has potential to be much longer, but that doesnt mean that it should be. Fans are super fickle and if they sense that the story is no longer progressing then they will drop it. I like the pace right now, he kills of favs with no remorse, the typical shonen MC saves the day doesnt apply-they constantly struggle, clear info is given at due time. If he keeps listening to fans and not killing off people he originally intended to, and making them win battles they were supposed to lose, and not giving information so the story wont progress as fast, things can get boring. This is how i feel currently about claymore and Naruto right now. both of them need to wrap the hell up already, especially claymore. I dropped that a while ago because the story was just tooo long, not enough info, and no progress. They give info few and far between to the point that they will bring up something revealed in the past and im like "what?? I dont remember that". If it aint broke down fix it. Fans flocked for his current methods, he shouldnt change t.

I don't know whether this is the right place for this question/opinion, but is it weird that I'm kind of getting annoyed by SnK? Or rather, am I the only one (which I'm pretty sure I am)?
Now I don't mean to hate on the manga in a hating-mainstream-stuff manner, I actually really enjoy(ed) it, but for the last couple of months everything has been kind of getting a bit bland for me. And it's not because the Anime stopped, since I actually started reading the manga before the Anime was announced.

I honestly can't explain it, and I really don't want to find the manga boring, I want to still enjoy it, but I don't really know what my problem is.

Maybe you miss the titans? I'd have to say they're among the most prominent attractions of this series.

It's frustrating not seeing the Scouting Legion progress, though they are kind of fighting for their lives right now. This gives the story a different kind of feel from earlier. Also, a lot of our favourites are away from the fray. I expect most/all to return eventually though, and that the SL will somehow get past the current bottleneck. Personally, I can't wait to find out the answers to the mysteries that have been plaguing us, however. I'll wait as long as it takes.

Maybe think about what you've liked about the manga and/or what you don't like now. Then you can figure out whether the things you like (such as fave characters) are likely to return, or the things you don't like (such as obstructions to getting to the Yeager basement) are likely to diminish.

Thanks for the reply. Even though your points make sense I still feel like I just need a break from the manga, maybe once I notice it's picking up again I'll catch up.

You choose the wrong time to take a break, volume 15 and 16 will be the most impactful of the series, meaning expect answers. volume 15 starts at chapter 59, and the assistant tweeted that this chapter will make us all go whoa. so You should have taken a break since chapter 51, this is where snk gets really good.

I want to enter in a bar and see Hange welcome me with a big creepy smile like that. And from the cover of the DVD it seems to be Connie/Armin/Eren as the main characters and Jean as the antagonist.

Ooh I forgot to say something about those cover images! The main cover is kind of funny since Erwin, Hange, and Levi all have completely different reactions to whoever they're looking at. Erwin is wary, Hange appears eager as heck to serve up some newly-invented concoction and Levi looks like whoever just entered the place has grounded him for two weeks. I have a different take on the DVD cover though. To me it looks like Armin/Connie/Eren are dorkily moshing or otherwise being total goofballs and Jean is purposely avoiding them like he desperately wants to give off the impression "I don't know these people!"

I'm not sure if that might be Connie, considering he doesn't wear a uniform like the others.
Maybe Eren just recognized him as a thug, and recklessly tackled him.
I can't make much out of the picture, but it looks like some sort of bar fight.
I do like that they are releasing these fun little OVA's from the 104th squads training years. Those were the most lighthearted episodes of the show.

It's at least nice to see Eren getting into a fistfight again.

I started watching about episode 8 on toonami after constantly seeing things comparing it to Pacific Rim. Last Saturday, I got my best friend into it, and we marathoned up to episode 10 on Netflix. We nicknamed the titan who ate Eren Leonardo Da Vinchi. Then when we met up with a friend of my best friend, my best friend started telling him how good the series was.

I've been feeling similar to Necron, and I have been taking a break to step back from the series, maybe because it's the second time Eren's been kidnapped in rapid succession leading to events that are neat and cool, but not nearly as compelling to me so far as say Trost.

Though, if the rumors are true about the next few chapters then that might be enough to change my mind.7

Although, I've been thinking that Eren being a weak and helpless person for most of the series is probably for the good. He's the person with the most 'non-main character traits' out of any main character that I can recall, and Armin has a lot of that growth and development and acts like a main character more than Eren. At least, that is what I've been thinking about lately about this series.
